The Nikon Z MC 105mm f/2.8 S is a professional-grade macro lens that delivers stunning image quality and exceptional close-up capabilities. With its fast maximum aperture of f/2.8 and advanced optical design, this lens allows you to capture incredible detail and sharpness in your macro shots.
The lens features a range of advanced features, including a customizable control ring, a focus limiter switch, and a weather-sealed construction, making it ideal for use in challenging shooting conditions.
Whether you're capturing detailed macro shots of flowers, insects, or other small objects, the Nikon Z MC 105mm f/2.8 S is the perfect choice for delivering stunning images with incredible detail and clarity.

My vintage 200mm f4 Micro and my stellar Z 105 f2.8S cover all my needs; have tons of fun doing macro work.
🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
I often think that I could do with only two lenses - a wideangle zoom (16-35 or something) and a 100mm macro. The macro could do portraits, closeups and nature/landscape details, and the wideangle could do perspective and all kind of wideangly stuff. That's the theory, at least. Then I put the 50mm onto the camera and shoot everything with it for weeks. :)
Wide zoom, 50, and 100ish macro….sounds rounded enough for everything I do haha thanks for watching
I almost never do macro but have 4 macro lenses. Optically they are very good so use them for portraits mostly or just normal photography. The Zeiss 50 macro f2 planar is my favorite.
That's why everyone needs one. They are generally just great optics!
i have the z105mm macro and the LAOWA 100mm apo macro 2x magnification
I tried the Laowa a long time ago. Real tough lens to use.
Macro lenses are so much fun. I had the Fujifilm 60mm f2.4 and 80mm f2.8 several years ago before I moved to Nikon. They produced my favorite images. Now I have the Z 105mm f2.8 macro and it is awesome. I love the images that I get with it.
I also tried the Z mount Voigtländer 60mm f2. It's a 1:2 macro lens that produces damn good images too. I loved the build quality but the barrel extended so far when focusing. Other than that, it's a great lens that I may buy again someday.
Thanks for watching my friend!
@ if you ever find yourself in Southern California just let me know, I have a few Z mount Voigtlander lenses that you can test.
I use FE 90mm G macro, btw, but also extension tubes to convert whatever I happen to be using into an impromptu macro.
I never did get into extensions tubes and that’s just kinda sad. I should get some
The supernova ring light that vaporizes small objects is a risk. LED cluster "ring lights" are pretty popular, but few offer truly full spectrum light.
The old 200mm f4 micro-nikkor was probably one of my favorites. The oddball 70-180 f4.5-5.6 was a winner too, but would natively produce half life size and was paired with a matched diopter to get 1:1.
The only true macro I have now is the AF Nikkor 60mm f2.8. I use a Zeiss Jena 180/2.8 adapted with a stack of extension tubes if I want some working distance.
The 60 2.8….in was so sad when the Z lens road map removed it and replaced it with the 50
How does this man know what equipment a stranger needs?
What’s your angle?
I respect your opinion but I just don’t do much of that photography
Fair enough. Thanks for watching!
Best thing about macro lenses is that they are just so sharp.
I'm also fond of bellows lenses and reproduction lenses ..🦘
I'm sure you have plenty of them too!
@@ZWadePhoto I do seem to have more macro lenses than any other type... ...🦘
