- Loved the song, hated the mix. Therefore I needed to fix this and lift Floor's vocals a bit...a lot. This is a new version without SFX and upscaled to 4K.

What is SFX?
Sometimes I get the idea from Tuomas that he thinks Floor's qualities in fact get a lot of attention from fans and reactors at the expense of the music and other band members. Much better, great job🤘🤘

Save us and remix And Ocean of Strange Islands, please. The band seems to want to sabotage Floor. I imagine that in most of the songs on the album her voice will be very low, just like in the first and last single released.😢😢
Absolutely love this version of a fantastic song!! Floor's voice being lifted in the mix does not really detract from Tuomas's amazing orchestral/choral arrangement, at least not to these ears. Inclusion of the lyrics so much appreciated too. Thanks as always for another great job Nightwish Arena 👍🤘🔥

For me they almost ruined very good song with a poor mix, and if there is an artistic idea behind it, it didn't go as planned, because so many people now just wonders why the mix is so bad. And I don't want to sound too suspicious, but how come Floor didn't advertise this single like she did Noise for example? She was hyping Noise for weeks. Maybe she wasn't too happy with this mix either 🤔

I am waiting for the comments 'Tarja would have been better' or 'This version deserves the drumming of Jukka' I have nothing about someone wants to stick to the original version. I prefer this one - just my taste. But why should each different opinion automatically be fighted with??? I found Nightwish with Tarja but today I love Floor - what is wrong with it? Someone likes the original version, another this mix - so what? But to even think about cutting out Troy is nearly criminal. And now you can pick on me again, but you will never change my opnion in that case.
Well, it's the same with everything. We have different tastes, and it can provoke big emotions. I love every era of Nightwish, but my favorites are Tarja and Floor. And I'm sure I have very biased point of view, because I started with Tarja. And I loved Troy on small doses, but now I have to say, that he is way better fit with AURI imo. Still, I have gotten use to his sound already, and I'm not cutting him off. This is the Nightwish we have now, and I'm just happy with it, even that I would prefer a little bit less Troy.

Hello again, Nightwish Arena. I was hoping that you would do this. As much as I love the original, bringing Floor's voice forward in the mix and adding CC lyrics is really a nice improvement. Thank you for all your dilligence.
You did not then like Tuomas's artistic vision of mixing Floor's sound to the same level as other instruments 😅. Must admit that I like also this remixed version. Good work.👍
Yeah, I didn't like that artistic vision, but the song was great. It just needed "bit" more Floor for my taste 🙂
Although you did a hell of a nice job, if you listen to the actual song (on several videos including the lyric video) it actually quite different than the official video... I had no problem hearing & enjoying Floor's voice in the choir... also, removing the dragon growl leaves that moment empty...
My original though was that there is no video on this edit, just lyrics on screen, but then I thought, that maybe I should do 4K upscale instead. My other version has sound effects.

Again, you did such an awesome job - it actually sounds like the original unedited track on Spotify. That's the best way I can describe it my friend - listen to the track on Spotify, it hasn't been edited, it's the original track - more often than not audio for music videos has either been dubbed, edited/remixed to fit the video, or re-recorded - no degrenation intended, because your edit is PERFECT! Again, you did (and do) such wonderful work!!!

Yes, to me the vocals are too loud in the verses now (specially first verse). The choruses are good in your mix imho. Not that I had any problems with the original, but hey....i didn't grow up with shitty iPhone buds in my ears 24/7 when i was young. 😄
@@Test4Echos Yeah, verses went a bit over, but I think everything else is fine. There is a one minor glitch, which I would correct if this was an official video, but I guess two versions are enough for me now.

Troy cant sing anything more then an smooth seechanty in his Tin. And beeing forced to sing with floor, well who would sound good? ok well there are ppl, but they want to be on stage...ups...next problem, as all had stated that they would love to perform, except for Tuomas and ...well... Troy.
I unfortunately agree with you. I love Troy's musicianship and he's O.K. as a backing singer (as long as he's far back in the mix lol) but find him lacking for solo singing. I love Troy, I'm so sorry! Just being honest!

Probably because you know the lyrics now. Maybe your brain now "corrects" it. I'm pretty sure they haven't fixed it 🤔 This is why mixing and remastering is hard. After a while even very bad mix sounds good, until you take a long break and listen to other stuff. This happened to us multiple times when we recorded and mixed our demo in 2008.

Maybe not 😬I didn't think he was too bad on this one, and I'm not even too big fan of him. I mean, he is good singer and good multi-instrumentalist, but somehow I don't find him a good fit in NW. He was great in smaller doses, like in Wacken 2013. He fits AURI much better.
@@NightwishArena Agree here. The good man seems or 'proves' to be a very, very pleasant person, appreciated worldwide for his outstanding capabilities and it occurs to me he 'is' so necessary for the band (humor and a blessed musical mind). AURI fits Troy very well, that's true 🌹🌹🌹

I like Troy in the song. For me, it's a three-part song and Troy's part is like we are leaving the world and becoming an ancestor too. For that tone of the song, I think Troy fits very well.
Tuomas and Nightwish spent an incredible amount of time and energy creating this song and video. It's theirs. I can't see them being grateful to you for "fixing" it. Would you like someone coming into your home and fixing the furnishings, tossing out the clothes they didn't like, or repainting your car? You may like your version better and you have the capability of editing it for your personal listening. But it seems really disrespectful to me that you put this on your channel as a better version.
It is totally different thing. I haven't done any permanent changes to the original and people can still listen to it. I haven't said this is better for everyone, just for me (and apparently to 97.6% of the people who have listened to it). There was a need, urge even, and I just filled the void. Sorry if this hurts your feelings.
They clearly made a poor decision with that mixing because they needed to explain why they did it. Now about 99% of all not-nightwish-fans think it is just a bad mix, and this is their leading single 🙄
And maybe Floor wasn't too happy with the mix either. She haven't been "hyping" about this like she was with Noise for example. Not a single RUclips post about this, and just one in FB, after the single was out. This just seems weird. I hope they are fine.

Band fucks up, fan fixes it. Who cares if Nightwish is grateful or not, they didn't respect the fans enough to mix it properly in the 1st place. Was it Disrespectful to Metallica when fans re-mix AJFA because bass was cut, or was is disrespectful of Metallica to turn down Jason Newsted bass so much that it's not even audible?
