There ruining it! It’s becoming too common every day car! Mini people buy it because it’s a Mini! No one wants it changed. The only reason for these ‘updates and upgrades’ is to up the price.
What is so enjoyable about the MINI Cooper of past generations is that it stands out from all other cars on the road with its design, two tone colors and still reminiscent of the MINIs of years past. A compact little car that looks sturdy and sporty as well as very original and a delight to drive because the driver feels the road more then a luxurious car, with great handling which makes it even more fun. Also an interior to match the overall style of the car. Now with this new design for 2025 the MINI Cooper as well as the MINI Cooper Countryman are beginning to look less like a MINI Cooper and more futuristic and similar to other cars and with bells and whistles that really don't add to the car's appeal for me. It takes the fun of driving away from the MINI.
Will be trading my 2007 R56 Cooper S for the new Countryman S petrol (0-60 = 5.6 sec.). MINI got the proportions right and this generation can tow slightly under 3K pounds for around $45K
As an owner of 3 mini coopers I waited for the electric version. But when I found out it was being built only in China I said “never ever will one be in my garage” sorry it’s supposed to be British….
Production at Oxford for the new 3 door hatch is slated to start 2026 when modifications to the production line will be finished. Countryman is built in Leipzig, Germany. You may see petrol new JO1 Coopers in the USA before 2026 as they are built on a different platform to the electric ones and can be built in the UK. I’m taking delivery of my electric Countryman on Saturday in the UK
As an American I do like the look inside and out. I'll be waiting to see how it drives in the real world from reviewers and owners and see actual range.
very clean dash like that is very relaxing.....just one screen, that it.....i wish even the economy cars are like that.....dash of regular cars give me migraine....lol
Apparently the new design has been badly received by existing customer, many stating they won’t order one. Pre orders are so low production in China has been cancelled reverting it back to Oxford where it will be assembled along side it’s petrol counter part.
The new models? Mixed feeling. The Mini Cooper DESPERATELY needed to shed its over-bloated look. The new model is a lot cleaner looking...with one major exception: the grille. BMW's MINI needs to get away from the Guppy Lips trim ring. The upper grille proportion is off, too. Too small. I do like the new lighter interior; the Infotainment puppy is a complete miss. Much better, but still some tweaks needed. The Countryman? Not. The All4 badge behind the rear door is a completely unnecessary plastic square. The rear side windows now have a blind spot due to that badge. The overall side profile of the Countryman is bland. If you took away badging and the union jack tail lights, it could be any manufacturers compact SUV. I also hope they have more options for wheel styles. For me? The new MINI is at best a B+, and the Countryman a "meh".
If only car manufacturers stopped spending money on pointless stupid gadgets that drive the car's price way to high and instead put more standard equipment for the price the car world would be a better place. But no we have to develop a stupid assistant that will never work and never be used and put it with an option package including shit no one wants so that they can profit more
Do you think Mini has done enough to make its new cars stand out from the crowd? Let us know in the comments!

It's awful. I was waiting to buy a Mini electric with range. There is nothing to wait for anymore. They destroyed an iconic brand.
Looks like shit
Electric countrymen is definitely gonna be on my future list in a few years!
5:42 “even for someone who’s not tall” no shit if ur not tall it will be even better

Agree these are so boring
the big problem of the new mini design is the lost of the clamshell hood, the side look too generic now....

5.6 sec is for the Countryman SE the S petrol takes almost 7 sec

The same car will be built in the UK as well later on

What a cutie. The guy that is
I don’t like the shape of the rear lights
The Ford Explorer needs to come out soon if it wants to stand out in design. :-)
They call that “humor”. Dah.

Exterior great, interior mixed...tail lights and wheels could be better. Nice job overall esp extra room
Maybe too cute. It’s the mistake VW made with the New Beetle in 1997. The 2011 revision got it right, but it was too late.
The butcher apron rear lights have to go, or an option with an alternative
Why does it says 2025..shouldn't it be 2024
Wow!
Shouldn't a 4-door Mini be called a Maxi...?
Cargo slope?
Great
The perfect car for Android watch owners.

Actually no nothing has been cancelled they are raising production capacity by also building it in the UK.

That interior is absolutely hideous. How can the make it worse in every way compared to the last model??

You need a hug.

The rear lights on the MINI Cooper are nauseating. Ruins the character of the car😕
I mean, it's better looking than the current car.
The rear side of the new MINI just looks great 👍
it looks cheap inside maybe except the display. previous model looks much more solid
Forget electric. Few will buy.
Wow those interiors are horrible.
Short range
First First
those taillights on the Cooper have to go
Why?
@@TJDST4well I don’t find them attractive nor see any connection to Minis of the past.
@@ALMX5DP I was asking the O.P. @40plusballer4 not you.
@@TJDST4 sure, I was just providing my opinion to show the possibility of the OP having a similar thought.
The new taillights look much better than the previous ones…👍🥳
I hate the new countryman, looks nothing like the original curved mini and looks like every generic suv
Looks horrible!
I rather buy a Mazda
