Just a question Greg!
I know that the forti link ports run forti link protocol which are only compatible with Forti switches but let's say if I do connect my Cisco/Juniper/Aruba switch to the forti link ports, will it still work as normal ?

Great question! I haven't tried it out but that's easy enough to test out and post!
My initial thought would be that it would not work as it's configured to talk to a FortiSwitch but I may be wrong on that.

the 2 x 10G sfp+ ports, one can use one for the network uplink from 10G ISP and the second to a layer 3/4 10G switch right?

That is correct! You can change any interface to anything else.
