I saw on another video you have to totally reinstall windows, to get core parking enabled, which is required to be on to keep these processors from crashing.
I know my journey on the 7950x has been kind of a h377... trying to find the BIOS settings for PBO and memory for the thing not to just... randomly crash windows at random. The defaults don't work, and there starts your journey down the rabbit hole.... what is making Windows crash with ndis and critical structure corruption blue screens at random, or at totally random... not waking from sleep. In all cases you lose all your open work.
So stability end the end trumps all any performance concerns or gains. You'd throw it all away just to have a stable system that never crashes and always wakes from sleep.

I think this part is very motherboard related too. I had 7950x and it didn't crash, but it also was not amazing for gaming, good, just not amazing

@@OptimizingNetwork I'm thinking most of my problems are basically... Windows 10 driver crashes. No changes in BIOS seem to make any effect. If I could, I'd switch to Linux, but I can't for the apps I need.
My 7950x has been amazing for gaming, but then I don't actually game much, and the games I play are pretty light weight simulators. So maxed out on high settings the 7950x and 3070 still laugh at them.
No, I bought a 7950x for video rendering. I knew whatever I bought would be fine for gaming. It's as many cores as I can get is what I want, because that's what I actually wait minutes on... a video to render out.
