This is a nicely done homage watch, especially the finishing of the dial and indices. I'm perfectly OK with the crystal and the movement. I just think that on this particular model the sterile dial looks a little bit odd. I'd much rather have a Phylida branding on it. I highly recommend purchasing a timegrapher. I didn't tinker with expensive movements so far but having successfully regulated budget movements like the NH35 with the use of a timegrapher is a very satisfying thing. Cheers Dan ✌
It seems we have a new contender. Phylida certainly have come from nowhere and seem to be a real threat to the likes of Pagani , Parnis etc, although I wouldn't be surprised if they were coming out of the same factory. Good stuff Dan cheers mate.
It shows that you can have the same machines etc, but the difference is hiw to use them, and get the final finish as good as possible for an amazing price point.
Yeah, back in late July I picked up their Rolex GMT homage. They had no long been set up, and there were no reviews of any of their watches on RUclips yet.
i bought a grey dial /blue hands, but it had QC issues and the locking post on the clasp was missing so the bracelet was useless. Aliexpress gave me a $25 rebate so I bought a replacement rubber strap in blue that is close to the original AT one.
I think the Phylida is better than the Corgeut. I wish they did the white face & blue hands version for the GMT version though. Corgeut does. If Phylida did that, I would buy it.
The green dial variant of this watch sold out quickly. I just noticed this morning that Phylida finally has a few more in stock (only about 5 though). So, a good time to pick one up.
Yes, many reviewers have opened me up to this brand, and this particular homage is very appealing to me. Like you said, it checks all the boxes. Thanks for sharing...this one is on my wish list! So many watches, so little time/money! Ha!
It depends who the seller is. I've had orders arrive in the UK consistently for under 10-15 days (before 2021) but when I moved back to another European country it may be just as quick (had one in less than 10 days I think) or up to or more than one month. I think one month is generally the maximum you should expect.
I have the GMT version of this watch and I love everything about it, .... except the butterfly clasp. I guess it works for some people but not me. The bump on the wrist facing side bothers me. Just to compare, the more recent Aqua Terra butterfly clasp is a smooth rounded surface, no more bump. Just wondering, does anyone know if it's possible to just replace the clasp? I've been searching everything but I cannot find a replacement that fits. I also tried ordering different bracelet and tried fitting the end links to the new bracelets but no luck. so anyone?
They have a very cool logo, it’s a three pointed crown with two small lines beneath it, but for some odd unknown reason, they NEVER use it on their watches...I don’t understand that way of thinking. Maybe it’s a Chinese thing.....I’m befuddled! They need to listen to the suggestions of their clients more. They’d be even more successful. Maybe they’ll figure that out in the future, but don’t count on it.
Nice review, very relaxing to listen to. I really wish they would make a smaller version of these Aqua Terra homages. This one is way too big for my wrist.
Careful what you wish for Dan. Regarding the AR coating, personally I would prefer this without AR than with that crazy strong blue AR that Steeldive and others go for. The addition of an inferior low cost AR would introduce more distraction from that beautiful dial than it’s worth I suspect. Just my thoughts 💭.
Would it be the phylida, it had a better movement, better crystal, a better date wheel. All the little details seems to be better. Only thing people complain about is the bracelet, but im sure with enough wear the bracelet can be broken in. I was wanting to pick up a corgeut, but when the phylida did it better, it seems like it's definitely worth the extra 20bucks they charge.
The hands on the Corgeut sold me on it, I think they're better proportioned with the dial. Would I prefer the domed sapphire? Yes. NH35? Yes please. But the dang hands aren't long enough.
Phylida looks great good specs well built but a newer brand with fewer models! Corgeut is older and makes solid watches too but I'm not sure how waterproof they are. Personally Id get the Phylida but id love a Corgeut BB homage with red bezel too.
It looks braw, I really do like the emerald green colour.... unfortunately the sterile dial doesn't work for me on this occasion, it's a compromise of course as the branding isn't there yet, a logo rather than name is what's needed....sterile worked really well on the rail master you reviewed due to the cross hairs, but the batton pattern on this one is not meant to stand out, it's perfectly subtle and again works great with that green....nice to see the black date wheel here....they have the homage thing down and doing it with so far what appears to be strong build quality using decent materials, there let down is not the brand name as such but rather how they use it "Phylida please switch to an image of some sort"....they have a number of models that I'd really like to pick up but I don't want sterile dials....another you might consider looking at is there speedy homage, thanks to Jason's channel I have the tin tin its stunning....⌚🏴⌚🏴
In the intro you mentioned flipping watches. I'd be interested in a video about the best way to sell these value watches. I have a few that just didn't work out for me. Where do you sell and how do you decide on the asking price?
Obviously if they're still for sale I can't charge more than the retailer. I'm not trying to turn a profit. I'm just hoping to get a little for them rather than see them collect dust. Just wondering what's the best method.
Great question, but a hard one to answer quickly. It comes with experience and trial and error. I just use eBay and try to price fairly by looking at how many are available, and what is a general fair asking price.
Good reiw phylida also introduced v2 with signed crown and signed claspe and used bgw9 super luminous and all brushed Bradley and crown make small like omega and arrow is also like omega thank
Good question Karl. I'm awaiting a corgeut watch, not the same as.thia unfortunately, but I can gauge the fit and finish of a corgeut in comparison when it arrives.
@@watchmewithwatches I have the Corgeut Aqua Terra so I am curious ... also awaiting my second Corgeut - picked up the Railmaster homage on the 11.11 sale. Also got the Steel Dive 1970, a waffle strap for it and the Pagani Design Datejust.

Good review mate. I've been tempted to pick up one of these a few times, but something else ends up distracting me. Probably a bit late now, everyone seems to have reviewed it.
It always helps when there are other reviews to help make that decision of picking up those watches. I first found your channel because the other bigger channels don't review the lesser known ali-brands like phylida or steeldive with much depth. So as much reviews as possible is always best.
Great review - but with a bit of a glut of very good Chinese specials at around this price available, which ones do I buy from my 11:11 list? My 1st world decision making skills are being tested! But I have a negative linked to watching watch reviews. I am totally fed up with "Watches of Switzerland" adverts. Every blooming vid seems topped and tailed with them with a few in the middle for bad measure. How about you?
I think it looks better with the logo, but unfortunately Phylida is a cross between syphilis and chlamydia. Secondly, I don't like deployant clasps. All that said, what great value for money. Yes, get yourself a timegrapher, it will give you a far better understanding of watch calibres. There is a really good RUclips video "The Timgrapher, an Idiots Guide"
The watches from this company seem so nice. If only they didn't have that name! Phylida sounds like I'm wearing a Phyllis Diller. Yet, at the same time sterile dials do nothing for me.
@@watchmewithwatches maybe, if they had a really good logo to go on the dial instead of the name itself it would go a long way. For instance, I really like Pagani Design's logo even if their name is meaningless (the company is neither Italian, nor does it "design" any of its homages).
It’s supposed to be big....that’s the style of the watch. The “real” aqua terra has a large onion crown as well. It’s in keeping with the original. Plus, it makes it much easier to set the watch, and it doesn’t get in the way of your wrist/hand. It sets the watch apart, imo.....
Some have male end links, snd some have female end links. You can request a female end link bracelet if you prefer, by simply asking the seller directly. I did, and they happily complied with my request. I have smaller wrists (6 3/4”), and wouldn’t enjoy this watch as much if II only came with the male end links. My problem with the bracelet is that it has polished middle links....yuck! So, as soon as mine shows up in the post, I’ll be pulling that bracelet off and brushing it entirely, just like the “real” aqua terra bracelet. Those polished center links are just asking to be scratched up to hell! No thank you Phylida!
i really am attracted here by the dial colour which is very unique tone of greenish with a hint of blue. however, there is nothing amazing or different as this is pure copycat of Aqua terra design . another same weakness of this design is that at40 or 41mm, and not having a dive bezel this dial face will feel and look too big for mid or smaller wrist size men. i.e. a huge simple 3hand watch without sub dial and bezel ,very weird huge plain dial face. the rolex datejust 41 /40mm have the same problem or weakness
