- A compilation of short TikTok Carpenters song cover videos by the English singer, Harriet, who sounds a lot like Karen Carpenter. She also does original songs and has her own sound. Not an imitation, just a great voice. These "who's the best Karen" comments need to stop. All who give tribute to Karen are to be applauded. Regardless of who's voice touches your heart, Harriet or Tori, Karen is the queen. This is NOT a competition!!

I am 66 and I grew up in the 70s to the Carpenters songs. This woman voice really moves me. I hope she makes something lovely and beautiful with her life . She has a very special talent. She brings tears to my eyes.

Harriet!!! WHAT A VOICE...i remember Karen Carpenter...playing her music during my commute to work back in the 1970's...loved that voice...still do...Harriet has her uniqueness, but I love her voice just as much...more than just her voice...she brings back a lot of very happy memories.

Your pretty good and your voice brings back a memory. Stay strong your voice will get better. I think in my opinion Karen Carpenter had the best voice in women's music so your on the right track when you compose your own people will take notice.

I always like to see a pretty girl with a beautiful singing voice. Not quit Karen's voice, but if I could go see her perform live somewhere I'd do it .
Right now she’s touring in England but I keep asking her to come to Houston so maybe she will do a US tour soon.

She has a beautiful voice! But no one can sing with that RICHNESS that Karen had....beautiful tho!
We all have a twin somewhere and Harriet is just Karen’s twin from another mother, lol. All songs beautifully sung, with my favorites being ‘Solitaire’ and ‘Masquerade.’ ‘Solitaire’ is not a song easily sung without a decent voice, and you nailed it! I often wished Karen had moved away from pop and sang more sultry jazz hits like ‘Masquerade.’ It takes a truly gorgeous voice to sing classic jazz hits well, and you’ve got it! Think about it. That’s an album I would buy for a certainty. ❤
Karen had a hurt in her voice that nobody will ever be able to touch.
She picks Karen's songs and really does a wonderful rendition of them if that's what you're looking for, but if you just wanted to enjoy a good singing voice, she does it well!❤

She has an excellent voice. Her low regisyers are rich, but she hasn't got Karen's range and tonal colours. Thete is still nobody who really sounds like Karen.

Lol. Harriet is not up against anybody. She has been around for almost a decade and has just recently covered a few Carpenters songs. She has several albums and has covered several different artists, in addition to singing her own music. You're funny.
Exactly. People are trying to turn it into a competition and even Tori has said she doesn't like the negativity being spread around on both sides. She thinks Harriet is lovely and each on their own path. Harriet has only done more Carpenters covers lately because so many people have asked her to.

It’s better for a singer to sing in his or her own range. She may not have Karen’s three octave range.
@@CalJennings I understand that being Pro myself for over 30 years but H can sing Carpenters in orig keys. Karen sings very low. Harriett does have same range. Youve only got to listen to her albums 👍
@CalJennings Harriet sings 'Yesterday Once More" in a lower key than Karen. She's been singing her own original songs and covers of various artists for almost 10 years now. She's my favorite alto after Karen Carpenter. Sings smooth, gentle, easy and nails the low notes with such ease and finesse.
I think Harriet wants to sing Carpenters' songs in her own right without trying to imitate Karen or "cover" her. Too many people are trying to make many of these singers into another Karen Carpenter. Some are doing the same thing with the newest kid on the block, Tori Holub. People need to stop trying to make any of them sound exactly like Karen Carpenter and just let them do their own thing. It's ridiculous. I love that Harriet has been around for almost 10 years and has sung whatever the heck she wanted to sing! - with several albums to boot. And I have most of them. You go, Harriet! She's not trying to be another Karen Carpenter like some of these others. And she's not doing shows pretending to be Karen Carpenter either. She's being herself! Bravo! You go, Harriet! Be Yourself! And you have a beautiful, luscious voice in your own right, just as Karen did. And you've been very successful in your own right, just as Karen was, and not riding on Karen's shirttails or drumsticks. Yay, Harriet! Yay Karen!
They are "covers", which means she makes them her own style/sound. Not copies the original.

Tori Holub has a sweet, smooth voice but she doesn’t have Harriet’s command of slight vocal fry that Karen used in key places.
She has a nice sound, but has changed the keys on all the songs. Not sure why, unless she can’t hit the higher notes. Not really a criticism, but to really do a cover right, it seems like it should be as close to the original as possible. The production is also very simple, needs to be stepped up a few notches, perhaps. Good job overall, and fine voice.

There is room for all in the musical world. Tori likes Harriet and this "competition" between the two of them is only being done by fans. Both are excellent artists at singing the way they want to sing. No one can "copy" Karen.
Covers are meant to be done as a reinterpretation of an original song. that makes it the artists own. Why do a cover in the exact same way as the original? The originals will never be copied exactly no matter who sings them.
