As a Tamilian I'm really happy that Shivani speaks Tamil too. Fun fact, our most popular Tamil film star, the "superstar" Rajnikanth is from Maharashtra too. We love people who speak our language. Another fun fact, Tamil shares the same grammar structure of Japanese whereas Marathi and Hindi are Indo-European languages and have more in common with English grammatically than they do with Tamil.

By the way, I have felt unpleasant racial discrimination. About 20 years ago, when I visited Bali on a trip, I went into the pool at a hotel and all the Australian people left the pool. At that time, someone loudly commented that Taiwanese person entered the pool. I believe that both Japanese and Taiwanese people were seen as "Asian" . In this case, I consider it to be a matter of humanity and character.
as a japanese, there's a racism inJapan. but there are lots of racism againsts Japanese, East Asia both in UK, India. Fact: India kills, raping northern Indians called 'North Easterners' for many years. only by appearance. and I've called ching chong, yellow monkey very often, people always making that slanty eyes gesture to me , sexual harassment was my daily routine. And In UK, as well. except they do not killing East Asian look like ethnic group. Brits often mocking on my fair skin saying 'love yourself', 'don't try to look like white' 'your dream is to get marry to a white man' ' do you eat dogs' groups of young people spitting on me without reason, slapped me , etc. many friends were brutally bitten during covid only for being an asian. (East Asian) and many western men are fetisizing us whereas women are jealous of us for catching their male's attention. so whenever if white man goes after East Asian women - japanese, Korean, chinese , we automatically become whore. sorry, we have highest level of education, iq, one of the richest country in the world. and our wife, mum sacrifice everything to husband, kid .unlike western women who chase after their own freedom. I can't describe how many times I was abused both in UK,India. being homogeneous country doesn't mean we are bad that means that our grand parents did not have much slaves or colonies as much Britain did have. I do not support what Brits, France, Europeans are claiming 'Multi culturalism ' and 'Diversity' , you guys obtained that diversity out of slavery , colonialism, not out of tolerance or human right. US as well :)
and definition of 'Asia' in the west also makes me sick. you guys do believe Europe is a centre of the world, so from Turkey to Japan , we are all classified as 'ASIA' Not only geographic terms but also in ethnic terms. we have no similarities with South Asians like Indian, vietnamese, etc. but we have to be mocked about our fair skin , high-pointy nose, height etc. very gross. Nigeria is very near to Europe, but nobody calls Europeans look exactly like Nigerian or Sudanese. sometimes I'm shocked about ignorance and racism of western people.
As an American who is surrounded by foreigners on a daily I basis it’s so easy to forget that it’s not like that in Japan. I even have 3 foreign co workers I speak with daily so it’s not uncommon. But in Japan I’ve heard there are foreigners but not to the extent that America is.
I got so frustrated with culture differences between US and Japan. I am Indian settled in USA more than decede but I know how to deal with people in US but japan people talk one do the opposite. 😮. This is very much irritating always. I was really confused if this categorized as racism or all foreigners experience such an experience. Also some honest Japanese say this is Japan style 😮😅

I think the issue is more if they refuse to serve customers at restaurants. humans can communicate by pointing and sign language, language is just a modern invention in our history as a species actually. We should not use it to divide ourselves.

電車で隣に誰も座らない件ですが、日本人の僕も時々体験しますね...汚い格好とかしている訳ではないのに、両隣が空いているとなんか気にしてしまいますね😅変な奴に見られているのかとか、コートやジャケットの裾が隣の席に広がっていないかとか...
なので、外国人とか関係なくたまたま隣の席が空いているだけだと思いますよ！
外国人とか美人の側とか恥ずかしいしそもそも席は「詰める」という状況にない限りは距離をそこそこ取るのが普通。
近くても可能なら何10ｃｍかは開けるのでは？（ひとまとまりでいる場合友達とか何かのグループという感覚。）
・・・乗り物なら出口とか乗り降りや窓の場所とかそういうのもたまにしか乗らない場合は考えます。
