You are absolutely right. We never really think about that either. We are focused on the women experiencing the negative consequences of the overturning of Roe v. Wade rightfully so but men are also going through something as well. These husbands wanted to be the fathers of these children. These husbands are watching Their wives go through something devastating and traumatizing, while they themselves are being traumatized by the event and how difficult it is that they can’t do anything because of the law and they themselves are devastated that the loss of this pregnancy. It’s almost like a second hand or second-degree trauma experience.we really need to consider that as well and that’s yet on one of the reasons why politicians need to accept the pregnancy does not just affect one woman. I fortunately live in WA State too where a woman's right to full reproductive healthcare and bodily autonomy is still protected, however, there still exists a very real threat to all women. If Republicans take control of Congress and secure the Presidency in the next election cycle there is a very real possibility they will legislate and pass a nation wide abortion ban. And considering how far right the Supreme Court is, if a law like that passes, I'm afraid any challenges brought to the highest court in the nation, would be overturned and the ban would be cemented into law. Resulting in every woman in this country being stripped of her rights no matter which state they live in. It's important to keep that in mind. I realize this is all supposition, but these suppositions are grounded in decades of history and political actions by conservatives that point to their willingness to align themselves with a coalition of ultra religious Christian zealots who have openly stated their goal of banning abortion in exchange for votes and political power. I have 3 special needs kids, a high functioning teen and 2 toddlers that need LOTS of help. I had a miscarriage about 3 yrs ago in my first trimester. Im afraid of it happening again and my life being threatened. I have to be there for the children i have as long as possible.

There's nothing pro-life about anti-abortion laws, they are just pro-pregnancy laws with zero regard for the health of the mother or the fetus. These laws leave it up to the judicial system to determine whether a woman's life is at a high enough risk to provide medical care. And as the AG of Texas has shown, even if a judge grants you that permission, there is no guarantee that they won't go ahead with prosecutions anyway.

I appreciate these men standing up, but why couldn't you have LISTENED earlier?? Is this what we need, tragedy, just to get people to let women and their doctors make the decisions they NEED to?? All the brain-washing by right-wing politics over decades had led to this. That if you're pro-choice, you're pro-murder. You're treated like a pariah unless you COMPLY. It's sickening. And these women suffered and nearly died. Abortion is health care. Whether a person isn't ready, was raped and doesn't want it, is at high risk or has a horrible fetal anomaly, that is NOT for politicians and religious leaders to decide. All that posturing over decades is leading to tragedy. It's so sad to watch these families go through this. I hope that the lawsuit in Texas forces their Supreme Court to overturn their insanely strict abortion law, and that others follow suit.

Do we really think that baby can have a complete life without her mother? There should be exceptions put into place for these abortions. Having an emergency need for a procedure like these women needed should not be deemed an abortion. They are not choosing to have the procedure just to end the pregnancy, this is a life or death situation.

Keep the decisions between the mother and the doctor. If we want to fight for less abortions then fight for child care support, free contraceptions, earlier and more detailed sex Ed, support for abuse victims and so many other factors. Getting rid of safe abortions doesn’t stop abortions. It just creates more dangerous abortions.

I understand where these ladies are coming from. Even though my kids are alive and here today I can tell you at the end of my pregnancy it was scary. I never told my husband this but with our son the day he stopped moving and kicking me is when I got super scared and that was at the hospital. My son was born still, he was not screaming or moving. I laid on that table just thinking and hoping to hear a little sound. When they cleared his airway and he started screaming the whole world lifted off of my shoulders.
The day I went into my ultrasound with my daughter I knew something was wrong because my daughter was not moving as much as she used to. I went in for my stress test and the ultrasound. The tech and the nurse was like don’t pass go don’t stop go right to the hospital. Even though my daughter was born screaming it was a very scary moment because I did not know what was going on they would not tell me. After my daughter was born, I found out she swallowed meconium well in the womb.
It is scary for women now because we don’t know what is going to happen. Abort in Latin means miscarry. So if you have a miscarriage then they will but it in medical terms that your body aborted the baby. Miscarriages can happen anytime during pregnancy. It is scary and sad.

How can you not change your mind, or at the very least have empathy and see the need for exceptions to protect women who are pregnant with fetuses/ babies with feral anomalies, that means they will either die in the womb or soon after birth? How can people still not advocate for termination in the case of this? So it's ok to put the lives of pregnant women at risk or allow the babies to be born only to then suffer and die immediately or shortly after birth? It's horrendous. I'm pro choice and think all women should have the choice to have full autonomy over their bodies. Even those that are unsure would surely understand the medical necessity for abortion in the cases like these women?
I live in the UK and was pleased to see that even the Republic of Ireland changed their abortion laws to allow them throughout the country. Up until very, very recently (up until a few years ago), Irish women would 'take a holiday' in the UK, usually main land England to be able to access abortions. There have been similar stories to these women that were a big part of the action behind changing the laws in Ireland for the better for women. I am really sorry to all the women in the US that can't access healthcare in relation to sexual health, suitable advice on termination or how to access it in states it is allowed or just not have the means to access abortions or health advice in general due to costs, time and/ or unable to just drop everything and travel across the country to access an abortion that way. This change in law and the overturning of Roe Vs Wade is so disgusting and I am so sorry that women and families have all been affected by this. It sets a dangerous precedent of what other rights can be overturned in the future.
