Hey, mechanic here. All you have to do is crack the bolt loose for the brake line on the caliper or the master cylinder, and the brake will be released. A small adjustable wrench will work to do this on any motorcycle. This is the worst security solution I have ever heard of. The thief will just drive it home using only the back brake and then strip the bike for parts. They are really easy to hot wire, which is why sport bikes get stolen all the time. Manufacturers know this, and it means more bikes will sell so they will never resolve the issue.
Then what kind of security device you recommend homie?
Loosen the Bleeder screw. Brake the lever. Cut the line. This is just pointless. Not much you can do to keep a bike from being stolen aside from just not leaving it where it can be stolen

I was an insurance adjuster for 29 years. That bike can easily be stolen. Just cut the brake lever. It is also a cheap easy repair.
Or with a standard wrench just unscrew the bleeder on the caliper for a second. Boom no brakes and no damage

The seals in your brake calliper will wear out prematurely if you use that thing on a daily basis. The seals themselves are usually cheap, but the work is time consuming.

Brake lock only locks front brakes loosening up front bleeder screw will unlock front caliper and you can use back brake to stop.
Dude is more confident in that lock than I am of my unbreakable Toyota Corolla.
I got a buddy that is a former high-end motorcycle thief. I asked him what anti-theft system actually works and he said the only thing that would usually slow them down is a high quality chromoly chain and quality lock that are harder to cut through and always lock your bike to something solid but even then the best you could ever hope for is adding three or four minutes to the time it takes to steal your bike. His best advice is to ride something that isn't a high value target that lots of thieves want to steal and to use the high quality chain and lock to make it not worth the time and hassle of professional thieves leaving you with having to worry about the generic tweaker and crackhead that wants to steal your bike for parts and scrap which the chain is usually much better at handling. They will just yank parts off your bike where it stands though. You can't rationalize crackheads.

Most bikes are stolen by 2-3 guys riding around in a small cargo van. They pick it up and go.

This works for heavier bikes. But what about light bikes like 250 dual sports. They could just lift up the front wheel and roll it on the rear.
There is a ton of ways to get around this lock, from the looks of it it's aluminium aswell. A grinder will easily get through it, loosen the bleeder screw or in the worst case cut the brake line. Just get 2 good disc locks, a floor anchor for at home and some GOOD insurance. Because if they want it, they'll get it.

I think you need all 3 for everyday use, a brake lock, a wheel lock, and lock your handle bars. Then I'd throw a chain on also for overnight storage lol all locks can be defeated but it will slow down a possible theft and might make someone think twice about the target

Break locks like that are good for short public areas not an overnight protection defense or deterrent.

Real instructions:
The lever behind the left handle bar is the clutch, the lever behind the right handle bar is the front brake. The little lever near your left foot is to shift gears, the little lever near your right foot is for the back brake. Twist the right handle for throttle.
Front brake provides most of your stopping force (about 70%), back brake applies about 30%. Use both at the same time to come to a stop.
To go: Pull clutch in, click the left pedal down to go into first gear from Neutral (half-click up to go back into neutral). Apply a very small amount of throttle while slowly releasing the clutch (left handle). There is a “friction zone” but I don’t feel like explaining it right now.. the bike will start moving as you release the clutch. Now you’re riding a motorcycle.
To shift up: roll off your throttle, pull in clutch, shift up, release clutch and apply throttle.
To shift down: roll off throttle, pull in clutch, shift down, roll on throttle (rev-matching, this is because when you downshift the engine will immediately jump RPM’a) and then slowly let off the clutch. Also roll off throttle if you’re coming to a stop.
When coming to a stop, you have 2 ways to do it. The less-safe way is to pull in the clutch and apply brakes, however you’ll have no engine power to maneuver/escape if need be. The safe way is downshift then apply both brakes, gradually applying the front brake.

Sorry, it’s just expensive pre formed trash. I had one about twenty years ago. Really tough item, solid steel billets and anon pick roller lock. I returned to find the gits had smashed the break lever off, hammer maybe? I picked up some bits from the floor. Police? “ Yeah they’re a waste of money. Even the strong ones won’t stop some kid with a lump hammer. It’ll only cost them fifty quid max to replace bar levers.” The lock cost £49.99. I sent photos and receipts for the lock to my insurance. They declined. Non approved gadget they said. Happens a lot, they said.
I did get a refund from the manufacturer (might have been Oxford. Yayyy!

All you need is a 10mm socket to open the brake fluid nipple to release pressure.
LOL, if thieves really want to take your bike, a cargo van (or pickup truck) can hoist the entire bike is less than ~15 seconds without even mess with any of the locks at all - unless the lock can anchor the bike to the ground. Brake lever lock is absolutely (as many have already commented) the least affective and money wasted device.

Tubular locks notoriously are super easy to pick, most can be autopicked with the cap of a pen
