Looks like the same 1.6TDCI engine that was in my 2011 focus I owned for a while. I agree the oil filter is in the worst possible place, I always put a bit of rag underneath the housing to catch the spills and I always wiped around the inside of the filter housing before I put the new filter in. The engine was reliable in my Focus except for several blocked fuel filters. Did you change the fuel filter, I would recommend changing it if you didn't. This engine is also well known for turbo failure if oil changes are skipped, oil feed pipes block up with carbon causing turbo oil starvation.
Hi Paul, another great video, tinkering on the Ford Transit Courier, that air filter did need changing yuk!!!!,the heater part is very similar to the Vauxhall one.
Hi Paul.some time back you were going to do a video about your meeting with copart,is that still on the cards ?.How about a Q&A with someone of importance from copart, that would be intresting.
This van has the Peugeot 1.6 DV6 engine and the oil filter has a little lug that needs to be fitted in a certain place or it could have a loss of oil pressure
Vw has the same stupid resister on the caddys changed a few of them in my time. What makes it worse is that its in the passenger footwell and easy to kick so its pron to damage.
Hi Paul! I appreciate you sharing your journey of purchasing and fixing cars, but it would also be nice to hear what they sold for, whether it was profitable or not etc. Q5 the Renault van spring to mind!
Yes. He’s very informative when he wants to be , but forgets that some people watch videos from the start of a project till the end and are interested in costs etc. still waiting on the price breakdown for the window cleaning van that he said he’d do . When these type of channels ‘forget’ to do a price breakdown , it always makes me think that it wasn’t profitable ?
@@stephenevans1833 and to be honest there’s nothing to be ashamed of if you don’t make a profit, I’ve done a few before in the past and it is hard even when you try and keep costs to a minimum. @@CarsForPaul that’s still not bad going Paul. The Q5 wheel refurb / Apple CarPlay all add up, as do other left field items that you can’t account for before purchase - all pretty respectable!
Your calling it a resistor but it’s role is a thermal fuse , it blows when the heater gets too hot and it does that because people skimp and don’t change the cabin filter( which I didn’t see you do ) As other commentators have said don’t use those filters , the filtration level is nowhere near the same as an OE filter and that’s really important on the engine type . History is littered with turbo failure of this engine caused by carbonisation , oil feed starvation and pick up blockages . And make sure you use exactly the correct spec not just any 5/30
Do you know the original part number for the resistor? I have the same problem on the same vehicle and I'm confused by the millions available online...
Hi Paul quick question. I bought two vehicles from copart. They both have MOT and I have payed the tax for both vehicles. However there is no v5 on both. Can I have the car left in a non permit holder area with no yellow lines or red
you don t need change resistor , change for sometime car cost expensive you need just buy that same size Ohm Precision Resistor (not sure or that sounds correct - check on google ) Then welding on and problem be solved just for 1£- 2 £
Why not change a low cost crucial part of a diesel engined vehicle ie fuel filter , filter £10 to £20 consequences of not doing so , fuel injector and fuel pump problems into hundreds of pounds and inconvenience of breakdown .
Half a story!. What happened about the suspension . That van shouldn’t even have been considered to carry that amount of weight . The connect would have been a better choice
Crosland filters I have found are roughly a similar quality to the OE, but as you state not identical I can not be sure if the difference is noticeable due to so many variables. I think (might be wrong) Euro Car Parts brand now, blocked/heavily soiled filters also cause problems so it does depend on the customers budget.
@@dan_mk2fez690 Not seen that before my experience is of maybe 6 filters over 4 vehicles changed annually. Was this a particular type or model as this sounds like concern.
I have used crosland oil filters for 3 years now no problem at all if your going two talk rubbish about something at least have the facts two back it up. 😂😂😂
I’m pleased to see you didn’t bother with the fuel filter again Paul
Got to find it first, you saw the job I had with the oil filter

Hi Paul another brilliant video as always and yes looking forward to seeing what your new car is next week and hope you are staying safe and well
Nice video, sound quality is always excellent on your videos.
Thank you very much!
Air filter looks like it's been working around London
It’s behind you 😁
Nice video amigo, thank you
Did you do fuel filer ? critical

Hopefully at some point after lockdown
I’ve got a Ford courier van 2019 radio not working, have checked all fuses, no display at all, any ideas?
If has aircon, maybe regas and new pollen filter. That'll be vile too. Also change fuel filter?!
This van has the Peugeot 1.6 DV6 engine and the oil filter has a little lug that needs to be fitted in a certain place or it could have a loss of oil pressure
yep, I found the lug

Hi. I have the same problem with the fan. Do you have a link for the replacement part?
Thank you.
I hope you located the oil filter in the recess when you fitted it ????? Hence the plastic lug on the bottom of it
Yep???? that was done

Great video on the van. Can you find out the resistor value and wattage and solder it on?
When Paul went to the trouble of getting the multimeter out I was sure he would have a resistor to solder on. Would be a cheap fix
No, I would prefer to get the oem part, far more safer than my soldering.
Paul is the new car called 'project censored ' !!😆👍
Is that it for a service? What about the Fuel filter, pollen filter, brake pad check? Cheapest oil and filters?
will be done during a very near future midweek episode once the resistor arrives
What a place to put the oil filter they do it on purpose so you take it in ,or in this case you don't bother with service looking at the air filter
nice one paul
See you get the same spammer as me 😬 looking forward to the new project.

Crossland oil filter. Might as well left the old one in 😮
Wouldnt be much of a video if I did that
Hi Paul
What happened to that other van that you was going to use to collect cars from co part?
I got an offer I couldn't refuse
Mann filters make ford filters, wouldnt use anything apart from ford, delphi fuel filters, bosch or mann fuel/oil air etc
What happened to you doing the rear suspension ??? Most dealer drain oil from the top of the engine
The suspension will be coming soon, the springs were out of stock
Paul have you sold the fair as well, I must have missed a video ,that's not like me ! 😊
Yes I did, but it was very low profile
