My husband and I look forward to your videos. We’re not farmers, but enjoy the banter between you two and learning about what you go through. I was wondering if you would consider naming a heifer that has survived issues, Ashlynn, after our granddaughter. In short, Ashlynn is a gift from God. She was born with her small intestine not able to grow. At 2 days, we were told to take her home and enjoy her. Others had only lasted 2 months. We were told there would be no chance of transplant. Well, 17 months later, she went through a 5 organ transplant and released to go home 21 days later. ( this is unheard of). Normally it’s at least a 6 month stay. Fast forward, we just celebrated her 20th birthday.
At this moment, in Europe (I'm from Belgium) a lot of farmers in a lot of countries are protesting against the WEF and the crazy EU regulations. Go farmers!
GREAT SAVE!!!! Brian & Cole.... Good seeing 👀 Jeff out & at it... Thank you again, as always another AWESOME VLOG... Nice Cover shot on Dakota Farmer Cole... 🎉CONGRATULATIONS 👍🎊 HUGS & BLESSINGS ALWAYS... 🙏❤️💙💖💙🐕...💙🤗✝️
Congrats on the cover. Cole also saw where you did an interview on how the channel started. Brian we won't tell him, but we all know everyone started watching because of you !
I like the calving barn layout, all gates & no panels makes for easier cow working & cleanout. I like the gentle way Cole handled that calf. It's not all about money.
Great work with the new calf Brian and Cole. Nothing better than new life on the farm..Thanks for showing the 4010. .Fantastic memories for me as I left school in the July of 1968 and started my working life as a John Deere apprentice. My first job was helping the head mechanic split a 4010 to replace the clutch.I didnt have a clue what I was doing then but I soon learned 😂😅👍..One of many over the next 9 years..!!
Cole, so glad you did not get hurt by that cow in the shoot!! So glad you were both thereto help that mama cow out so that she had a live baby, Great job Brian. Keep up the great video's, need to see more babies born if you can. God bless, continue to be safe.
GREAT cover shot Cole!! Good representative of farmers everywhere!! Ya brought that calf back from the brink!! And your labyrinth of gates and fences never ceases to amaze me. Even Rube Goldberd would be awed at your work!! AND how darn good it DOES work! Great video man, super coverage. Thank you guys. I know it takes a lot of work to produce a quality product like this. Thanks again.
The DF article and Soybean Board video were awesome! Thank you Sonne Farms for all the great content, the explanation of the backwards calf was really good. And ... Hi, Jeff!
I appreciate you guy's affiliation with farm rescue! I knew nothing about farming/Ranching but at least I can hold a conversation with people about it now! Thanks you!!
The 4010, 1960 to 1963, was the predecessor to the John Deere 4020 which is widely regarded as the most popular tractor ever produced by John Deere and perhaps any other tractor manufacturer in the United States. The 4010 was rated at 80 horsepower in 1960, but tested at 84 horsepower during Nebraska field testing trials making it one of the most powerful two wheel drive farm tractors at that time.
Something I just noticed about 4520. If You add 45+20=65. I'm 64, One Month, and Two Weeks Today! 65, my next Goal. I Love when You say to the Newborns. Welcome to Sonnie Farms! You should also try say; Happy Birthday! I did to both my Children! Jason & Sofia❤❤ ❤ Love the day to day between Father & Son! And Jeff + Thanks for sharing. Look forward to every video.
Thanks for another great video Cole and Brian. It was most interesting. Thanks for helping that cow deliver her calf. You both are excellent herdsmen and know what to do. You saved the calf. Outstanding job guys!!!!!!!!! Cole having your picture on the Farmer magazine is great. You are looking good on there. Nice going. Appreciate the way you keep an eye on your cows and get them inside to calf. Both of you are great caretakers of your herd. Proud of what you do. An honor to watch your videos. About it I guess. Thanks for everything Cole and Brian. Take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
thank you for showing that all does not go "peachy" all the time. I truly appreciate that part of your show. We farm, work hard, and have to deal with it daily. Love it, as you do, but it is... work :)
Congratulations on saving that beautiful heifer calf, delivered backwards from her heifer mom! We've had a few of them ourselves and sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. We start calving in mid-April/May and pray we don't get some nasty storms up here in sunny, cold, Albertie, Canada.
Hey Congratulations Cole, for making the cover of a magazine! I read the article and was surprised to hear there's people who hate agriculture! Don't these people like to eat? I've learned a lot from your videos and have to admit the cattle raising is my favorite. Keep those videos coming and educate America!
"What did he do, finish a coloring book?" Classic Brian. That Smashing Pumpkins song; I already knew it well, but Brian's description made me have to go look into the the background of it. Yeah, definitely dark.
Well done with the breech calf! Also nice to see the 4010 have new life. I'd like to kindly request you consider naming a bull calf after my son Trygg. He was born 10 days after his due date and we were concerned that he had turned over in the womb so might be breech. All turned out well. He was 10 lb 10 oz when he arrived! Poor mama 😁. Thanks Brian and Cole. I hope the rest of calving goes as well as the first part of the herd.
Cole: How do you do this, so well, three times a week!? Great video. P.S. love the way the cattle sniff and snuffle the camera ... naturally inquisitive.
Congratulations on the calf pull and the magazine cover!! I love calving season especially since I don’t have to walk in that muddy muck! It was a rough day here. The Texas panhandle is on fire big time. Last report it was traveling fast and was just over 5 miles from the Amarillo City limits. It was said to have burned at last report up to 750,000 acres with 20% containment. A cold front blew here 100 miles south and it was a total smoke out and warnings to stay indoors. Schools held the kids in for lunch due to smoke. I had to run errands and waited till the smoke cleared a little and the wind and smoke hit again right after I pulled in the garage. It’s been in the 70’s and tonight temps going down and sleet/snow early hours through tomorrow. Our ground is too warm to stick but it is coming in from the gulf so unlikely to help the fires. Please pray for our firefighters, lost lives, homes and stock as many are volunteers and others are being sent from every city. Lubbock sent crews to assist. 🙏🏻💔
Those raccoons always putting holes in things and leaving little "presents" behind. It nice to have a classic open station tractor around for those special occasions.
Another great video Brian and Cole! I learn something new every time - like about the group of 6 or 7 claves with 2 Mamas hanging back while the others go to eat. Amazing how these cattle have it all figured out. Also about the backwards (presentation) calf and how you knew something was amiss by the direction of the calf’s hoof. You’re using your combined cattle raising and schooling experiences on a daily basis & that’s a good way to live life. Thanks again!
Hi Brian and Cole, from Halifax NS 🇨🇦.I adore your videos. Love calving season but love planting and harvest even more. May there be a possibility of naming a calf " Canuck" for all of us Canadians that lovingly watch your videos. Thats what we call ourselves up here ... keep up the great content. 🇨🇦❤️🙏
I didn't know they still printed the Dakota Farmer. Years ago, the Dakota Farmer was printed in Aberdeen, where I grew up. My mother had a part time job at the Dakota farmer. This would have been in the early 1970's. She would work a few days a month when they published the Magazine. I remember getting yelled to hurry up and get ready for school cause she had to go to work. Dakota Farmer building was a couple of blocks west of the Northern Campus on main St. That building was remodeled into apartments.I had completely forgotten about that story. I just recently retired, been living in Sioux Falls for a while. I started watching way back when Cole was going to Sdsu. Keep the good videos coming.
Cole, as a young (small time) farmer myself I really enjoy your videos and the awareness you bring to the people who have no clue what farming is really about and how hard it can be. I live in Alabama and we don’t deal with the extreme cold like you do but non the less the work load is still here. I work a full time job and farming is more of a hobby. I envy you and your life as a full time farmer. It has to be in your blood to truly love it and be good at it. I would love to be a full time farmer. But most people only see the good side of farming and don’t see the hard times which, if we are honest those hard times come around quite often. So just a thanks to you for your dedication to showing what farming is all about. And yes I know there is still lots of things we as farmers have to do that RUclips want allow but I think most people see the big picture. Some are still clueless. Thanks man and happy farming. P.s. Wesley sounds like a great bull name!🤣🤣
Congratulations on getting that difficult heifer calving completed safely with both Mum and calf doing OK. Just another good reason to get the heifers calved and settled before the heavy calving action from the main herd as your able to monitor what is happening much more closely and minimise troubles. Dan
Another great video. I learned something new today. When a calf comes out backwards the mother’s tail bone and the calf can get wedged. So you have to pull downward. Plus with the umbilical cord detached, you need to move quickly. That I found interesting. Congratulations on finishing your first coloring book. Your parents must be proud. I know your dad is. You can see it in his eyes. 😂❤
Not sure if you remember me, I was watching all your videos last summer as i healed from a serious illness. I told ypu i was moving to South Dakota to become a rancher once I finished healing. Well I ended up in North Dakota instead, but my dream of being a rancher has finally begun! Thanks for all the awesome videos, they definitely gave me a head start on learning. Have a great day!
Greetings from Ontario Canada! Would love to have you name a calf after my husband, Skip. He has spent the last year receiving chemotherapy and radiation treatments for cancer and we get a lot of enjoyment watching your videos in the evenings. Keep up the good work.
Your picture on the Dakota Farmer, hey. Congrats on that and on the calf, delivering a calf that's being born backwards is a task, but you guys did good. Have a nice evening!
I have only been watching you guys for six months but I went back and watched every video from the beginning to now and let me say what a operation you guys have great to see family working together and having fun
Good to see Jeff outside and helping, hope is all well!! I was eleveen years old when I had delivered my first breech calf, by myself. I like win to win outcomes and I was so blessed by the lord above🙏. that day. I'm glad that you had good outcome with your breech calf. Thanks so much for sharing Brian about pulling a breech calf.
Awesome video. Things we deal with all the time on our ranch. So glad you could share it with the world. For our beaches, we always make sure to reach in and pull the tail down between the legs so it doesn't catch on the momma's tailbone as you mentioned. Keep up the good work!
I enjoying seeing all of Sonne Farms working facilities. Cattle facilities are like finger prints, no two will be alike! Appreciate the birthing tutorial Brian. From my small cow operation to yours, happy claving!
I am glad you saved that calf, and it was a heifer, would not want an ass backward cow named after me, lol. Cole, I am going to get me a copy of Dakota Farmer and send it to you so you can autograph it for me. It will be a prized possession.
I was eating lunch the other day at the kitchen table and I looked over at the Dakota Farmer and did a double take. Here it’s Cole Sonne out standing with his cowz. Good job.!!
Look at you Cole, on the cover of the Rolling Stone…oh, I mean Dakota Farm. Binge watching on the few days I’ve got. Good to see you guys and claving season. Any barn words used while working cows today? I need my Sonne Slappy to help ya out. Hey Jeffirino, hey Brain. How you guys been? My son in law is a great tractor mechanic. He’s always in high demand in the Hay Capital of the world. I never saw anybody so good with motors and fixin’ them. Baby claves are so funny when they’re trying to get up for the first time. Brain, you’d be a good drummer. Great lookin healthy beevos. Thanks guys. Storla Station
Congratulations on the cover Cole. I don’t know whose cow it is but there was one in yours and Uncle Jeff’s (hi Uncle Jeff) group that had a white crescent moon shaped mark on the side of its face. Loved that one! Stay safe and warm during your snow storm 🙏🏻❣️🙏🏻
Brian and Cole could you please name a bull (Arthur Sr) in honor of my late father. He passed in 2019 from heart failure. He and I own a small family farm with about 25-30 head of black angus cow in Alabama, up until I join the military in 2005, and he sold all the cows shortly after me leaving home to serve my country. I have been a faithful viewer of Sonne Farms for four years now. I love the content and the relationship between you and your dad.
well done getting that one out , i know sometimes they can be hard , lets hope you don't get to much snow , love the old Tractor too , love seeing these old tractor back working , that would be just the tractor for raking up hay Cole 😁
We’ve had the top the mouth get caught up in their. Put my hand in to guide it down to the opening. Great content! Enjoy your video’s greatly !!! Shannon
My husband and I look forward to your videos. We’re not farmers, but enjoy the banter between you two and learning about what you go through. My husband and I also watch all of their videos. Great and uplifting story about Ashlynn!
What a wonderful gift from God! After so much worry!
Thank you for the replies. We have proof that miracles happen.
That is so Wonderful about your grand daughter Ashlynn! God Bless her - your little Miracle all grown up!
Congratulations, Cole for your picture on Dakota Farmer!
YES very nice picture
Always good to see Uncle Jeff!!!!
That's so funny how that one random calf just walked in and was hanging out
Brian’s ground support.
I really like it when I get to see the close up views of the cattle when they sniff the camera. Curious animals just like children.
Congratulations Cole, on your modeling career. Lolol. Glad you finished your coloring book.😮
Very good article. The smart people know without the farmers the world will starve. Keep up the good work.
At this moment, in Europe (I'm from Belgium) a lot of farmers in a lot of countries are protesting against the WEF and the crazy EU regulations. Go farmers!

We all know Brain is the star of the show.

The "word" and "rural definition" is always entertaining. Please keep that up on the clave tote board. Wishing y'all the best this year.

Don't take that crap from the haters, Cole. You are outstanding in your own field.
