It's funny to hear an outsider describe equipment that I work on six days per week. I am an Electrician at the Kansas City Assembly Plant and I keep all of the equipment running from Deskid all the way to Water Test. We can run 37 vans off the end of the line every hour. The complexity of the van and number of options keeps the line speed down. When we built the Escape we ran over 73 SUVs off the line per hour.
The Kansas City plant built the Ford Falcon, Maverick, Fairmont, Tempo, Contour, Escape. Mercury Comet, Zephyr, Topaz, Mystique, Mariner, Mazda Tribute, Lincoln Blackwood which were produced before F150 and Transit Van production.
I am desperately waiting for mine, after seeing this video I am glad I chose this vehicle knowing that the quality control is excellent and how much they care about their final product ✅
I have worked in two Ford factories (from 1991 to 2004). Ford plant Genk Belgium (demolished around 2012), and in Ford Cologne (Germany). Now that I have seen this factory I must say that they all looks the same. Even the pillars are numbered exactly. I certainly wouldn't get lost there. Greetings from Belgium (Europe).
I am very excited to receive my new 2020 Transit. I had very specific options so I had to order it. I placed my order on January 8th at my local dealership. I was told I would have my van in six to eight weeks. Delay after delay after delay, I should get it by about August 8th. That's seven months! Covid is the excuse. Bummer but I am still excited to get the van. Agate black 150, short roof, short wheelbase, crew van, AWD, twin turbo 3.5L EcoBoost. Can't wait.
Looks like stockinette material for wrist & arm casts. I thought maybe this was Fords way of letting Dean know that if he touched anything they'd break his arms......
Nice to see you get the same shit as us over here, only certain panels galvanised, they are renowned for being excellent vans but absolute rust buckets in the UK
If my 2016 was built there then I feel bad for all transit owners. It is a throw away truck at best almost every moving part in the body has needed work. Only the eng has not had work done and I doubt it will make it to 100k before major work
Both Ford vehicle I have owned have had bad transmissions and a headache. I really like these vans but in the back of my mind I would hate to get another Ford lemon.
I can't stand the look of these. I have driven and owned nothing but Ford vans since the 70's. Drove them for years in FedEx and I own a 2002 E150 I still drive today. I wanted a new Ford van until I saw these. Can't stand them. A face only a mother would love. I call them "Ardvarks" I'm going to put a new engine in my 02 and gladly keep the old style.
Biggest mistake Ford ever made was discontinuing the Econoline and 5.4L engine. I have one and I have 607,000 hwy miles on it with no major engine problems. Only thing done with the engine was a tune up. Still has the original water pump. Ford could have changed the body and kept the Econoline. The Transits will never have the reliability and durability of the Econoline.
Is it too late to persuade Americans that the correct pronunciation of chassis ‘ shassy’ . Similar to the cowboys leather over trousers ‘chaps’ that Americans now pronounce shaps. And the Transit is a great van.
Sure, come on over. We have a welcome party available for anyone who wants one. Anyway, you'll waste a trip since Dean isn't American. He's from Winkler, Manitoba, Canada. Now, aren't you the jackass.
I've never heard anybody call them shaps... Sounds weak, like saying "oh no, I have shapped lips today" Sound strong by saying chapped with a 'ch'. "Let's all go to shursh...."
kkknotcool Screw me, eh? How chivalrous! To eschew French as archaic, as if the pronunciation is parochial or niche, perhaps even clichéd, is a little gauche. Don't be a chauvinistic douche! You don't need to have a penchant for the character of English language history. I'm not a charlatan with a cache of ancient chronicles. Show some panache! There's a château in Michigan, near Chicago, where a chef with a moustache adds a pinch of Cheyenne pepper from a sachet to his quiche, while his chauffeur launches a machine into an avalanche, and chameleons parachute from a branch covered in chlorophyll! I'll send you a brochure. _/punch_

I like that blue one.

Brilliant video and amazing plant... but the way you say chassis really grinds my gears ... and you said it like a million times too lol
I think he is doing an excellent job explaining what goes on in the building process of the transit. We need more people like him explaining things.
Cool video. Looks like a neat place to check out.

Got to love the arm socks. Very fashionable.

The sleeves he's wearing are Kevlar and protect workers from getting cut on sharp sheet metal in the Body Shop.
He's the only one in the whole factory then
Great video - thanks Dean!
Incredible! Makes me even more excited to get my Wonder one of these days!
Dean can sell anything - he explained the build process as if he was a Ford employee. Great job Dean !
Another Very interesting Video !!
Wish the trailer trailer industry had 1% of this quality.
Interesting, got to tour the bmw plant in SC and see how they do things. Maybe I can tour this sometime.
Hey Dean, love the video that you share. Do you know how long it takes to assembly one ford transit ?
I really really want a LTV.
Great video! I would love to see one for the Sprinter factory also.
TDC 87. Look it up there is one !
@@travelling_stephen actually 2, one in germany and South Carolina. I work in the assembly shop in sc
I worked at Honda we had 48 seconds to do our jobs. That is an eternity 1 minute and 30 second, wow, I would have loved to work there.
Thalles Howard lmao we have more to do on our jobs... just like our truck side produces one every 45 seconds but they have less steps to their jobs...
Considering the amount of items to be installed, it may not be as much time as you think.
Ford big factory in Gölcük/Kocaeli/Turkey.
Interesting fact. He says the word “chassis” 173 times in this video.
kindergarten Guided tour for 3 yr olds , with chassis as the main learning word.
Nice to see you get the same shit as us over here, only certain panels galvanised, they are renowned for being excellent vans but absolute rust buckets in the UK
Here in Canada I see the popular high top Mercedes van freckled with rust spots on the sides.
I didnt see any TIG welding
Saludos desde Galicia (Spain) 🤗👍
Jose Rodriguez shut up eurobeaner
ARMOR PIERCER what??
@@Jose_Rodriguez32 , te dijo frijolero de Europa, ese lame huevos de Trump!
Juan Flores Sé lo que me dijo pero me sorprendió la respuesta del Spammer colorao
It's a lot cleaner there than the truck side haha
Lol!@ “very exciting.” You sounded like a little boy.
USA must be one of the last country's that use Imperial for measuring ?
Stephen Green there are those countries that use the metric system and those that have landed on the moon.
Gonzo614. Just like Russia.
Stephen Green Russia never landed on the moon.
Gonzo614 well I never knew that shows how interested I am in space etc.
Nope, not all our measurements here are imperial. I work in millimeters daily.
Dean's enthusiasm is probably responsible for 1/2 of all LTV sales. Love his videos.

How many moving body parts are there?

Seems like nobody wants this gabber to be there. 😄
so why don't they fix there problems that they have had since 2013??
Mercedes Benz transit Factory Tour
Could you say "Transit" one more time...
They get massive tax cuts to afford all those Employees
I gave up after the 1000th transit saying
Now if they would only put better rear ends in them they might be worth buying.
Never had a problem with my 2105 and I have not seen any problems listed on the transit forum
EL34XYZ very encouraging, thanks.
Mine had to be rebuilt at 36400 miles pinion bearings and seals I suspect the lsd is going out now due to the bearing debris in it for so long
Robert, I would look into a F-150 rear swap. The Transit rear is an inch wider, but spacers could make up the 1/2" difference. Just my 2 cents.

No one here in the states cares how other people pronounce words in their country. :)
Dean isn't American to begin with anyway....
Sure, come on over. We have a welcome party available for anyone who wants one.

It's a shame he can't pronounce the word _chassis._
What’s wrong with how he’s pronouncing it?
It's a loanword from French, so it should be pronounced _shassy._
nagualdesign
Screw you.
It's a ch spelling, it's a ch sound.
You shouldn't need to know 900 years of English language history to say chassis.

No, but you do need to know _how_ to say chassis.
To bad he knows nothing about car factories.
That's what he pays people at Ford for.
Hey man stop the coke
Is he deaf?
look great now, will rot and rust within 5 years
