I've lived at Red Rock for almost 30 years and have been going to Pebbly for all that time. I also often run along the beach up to Station CK and back which is 4km each way. I have seen countless hundreds of people driving through the creek there and you are in about the 2% of people who actually do it correctly. Waiting for the bottom of the tide and then walking speed with no splashing of saltwater all under your car. Well done, you could teach vast majority of men how to drive that properly. If you go there again, check out the keyman statue which ist off Yellow Cutting road. And if you go there you might as well go to Browns Knob lookout. The gate is normally locked but sometimes it isn't and you can drive up to it. If it's locked just walk, the view is worth it. You can then drive back to the highway on Bald Knob road. But a better drive though is to go north along the Coast Range Road which will bring you to the Wooli Road. If you are still keen then follow Candole Forest road which will take you to Brooms Head. Good campsite are at Sandon River and Red Cliff. These camps are still in Yuraygir NP, same as Pebbly. Unless there has been storm damage or a lot of previous rain the roads I've mentioned are all simple 4wd roads that you can do most of in 2wd and can navigate easily with google maps. It is a good intro to that part of the coast when you don't really know the area.
Thank you so much! We checked out red cliff campground and loved it, such a great national park with still so much to see and explore - we will definitely be taking your information on board for next time we head up there. 🙏
