Having had an early production example here for a few weeks I can confirm that this is no one trick pony, for example rolling off the the guitar volume gets you a rhythm sound something like Sonic Youth, Built To Spill etc. Doesn't seem to mind a buffer in front either (not to my ears at least, and I was A/B'ing with a switchable buffer in front). A bit noisy, but no more so than my rams head muff. I just gated it. Not just for Beatles then, a cool & quite unique fuzz in its own right.
Aclam is my current favorite company. Great care and engineering. I bought The Dr. Robert and The Mocker together 2 Weeks ago and already recorded with them. This is The Beatles sound exactly on songs like “It’s All Too Much”. Incredible
If I wanted to replicate Revolver/Sgt. Pepper era tones such as: The backwards outro guitar part on "I'm Only Sleeping", The distorted guitar parts on "Sgt. Pepper/Sgt. Pepper Reprise", The lead guitar solo on "Fixing a Hole", Or the lead guitar on songs like "She Said She Said", or "It's All Too Much", Is this the pedal to go for?
Hello @elirosen1391 for that wide variety of tones we'll recommend you to go for the Dr. Robert. The Mocker has the higher gain spectrum of those records!
I know the video refers to something on the (I assume the Vox amp) being wrong when the Roberts was created. That being fixed on the Mocker with the new/old stock UK diode - which I am now the proud owner of. What was used to replicate the Dr. Roberts pedal then?
Hi Vince! The Mocker’s circuit only takes the built in fuzz from the UL730. That part was faulty on our amp and we actually kept it that way! The Dr. Robert has the entire UL’s preamp (minus the switchable fuzz effect) including the unique eq plus the FET section that replicate’s how the 730’s power tube’s saturate. We’ll say the mocker is the missing part of what the Dr. Robert was meant to be at a very early design stage
That Mocker pedal has still engineering design problems when you're hearing oscillations and hiss while not playing anything on the guitar which needs to be fixed. Also adding in a fuzz/gain control would have been nice to control. The pedal has way to much white noise and signal to noise floor ratio issues which needs to be fixed by the design engineers.
The white noise may be due to the pedal being plugged into a wall outlet by itself. I've had pedals that produced a lot of hiss when plugged into the wall with a power adapter, but then I put them on my board and powered them with an isolated power supply with the rest of my pedals, the hiss and white noise went away,
@@waynegram8907 No it's not. I just received this pedal and have been checking it out. I can confirm that when plugged in by itself, there is hiss and white noise when the volume knob is turned up loud. (Just like many other analog fuzz pedals) But when you put it on a pedal board with other pedals and an isolated power outlet, it's quiet. It's a great analog fuzz pedal, and it's a keeper! Believe me, I would send back a $460.00 pedal in a heart beat if it was noisy. Also keep in mind that this pedal is a replica of a 1960s distortion circuit with 1960s OA200 diodes. Imagine the hiss the Beatles had to deal with when using real thing, and yet they still used it to record and play live with.
I don’t think they were specifically trying to make it sound accurate, just showcasing the tone variety, if you’re going for the accuracy, just use the Doctor Robert as it replicates the regular amp circuit more
I think the best part is that John Lennon is the one explaining to the others all the technical parts. Lol
“Works great with those humperdincker pickups!”
John being technical. Ahhhhh noooo.
So funny and charming hearing their voices using modern guitar geek terms..complete with old audio noise... can't wait for The Rutles series!
brilliant use of AI for a creative demo. Paul’s voice seems the
most natural of the models
OMG the AI voices in this application is brilliant! Well done on the fuzz✌️❤
This is great! Made with respect to the Fab Four and a great demo! Would go great next to my Dr. Robert
I don't lean into the Fuzz all that often but that thing that you did with the paint, well, gotta have that...

Pay this guy. You just sold me on it.
Absolutely lovely!!

And purchased!! Now I have both sides of the UL730. 😎😎
WOW! It's a great idea guys!! Sounds awesome! Glad to hear these voices again. One Love 🔥
This is such a cool pedal! Sam did an amazing job demoing it.
Very cool. I loved, “give it a go G!” 😅
Give it a go G!
Brilliant, lads!
Who said AI wasn't really useful? Not me!
Thanks for the Ski-Ing bit!!
Best ad ever!!
Love it!
Great marketing. Great pedal! 😃👍🏻
I love love love this video. Pedal sounds great
This is Genius
Sounds fantastic!
Oh, this is perfection
Love it!
Great video! Impressions are really good!
this is amazing truly amazing

@@aclamguitars i thought so. Though I always thought that George used the Vox Conqueror's distortion and MRB settings for Fixing A Hole.
Lol John saying to George to “Give it a go G!”
George and Paul's two American friends have come along, apparently!

@@aclamguitars Gotcha. Thanks for the response. I appreciate that 👍
I love my Dr.Robert but another $300 is out of my range. Guess my Keeley Fuzz Bender will have to get me there.
Hi! Do you sell those cables? Thanks!
please make more videos with their voices 😂
❤
Why do they keep going Brummy?
"Ski-ing"!!!! Why the HELL would this be limited?!
It's back! We managed to get a small batch of NOS diodes! 🔥www.aclamguitars.com/store/the-mocker.html
Do you have the full credits track?
3 20 wonderwall soundtrack
Where can I buy this pedal?
Here!🤘🏼www.aclamguitars.com/store/the-mocker.html
John sounds kind of Australian ha ha
Y'all are above grave robbing but damn I want one
So The Beetles invented this pedal?
(Shakes head yes) No.
But... it's on the internet.@@mikemorrisonmusic

Or or or, use a gate pedal.
Are you talking about the fake tape hiss/noise that`s the background to this video, even when the pedal is not on at all?
@@Richter647 The hiss and white noise are poor engineering design is what I'm saying the company needs to fix this issue.

For hey bulldog George was trying out a new fuzz pedal that he just bought according to Geoff Emerick in his book here, there & everywhere.
It is mocking them 🙂
imo..... Terrible
The beatles were not gear heads.
Gawd these AI voices are awful. It doesn’t help that none of them were actually gear heads who talked shop to that degree esp Lennon.
nobody gives a shit
