it's a war zone here. I live by an airstrip and we hear military grade choppers coming in and out. Thankfully, we're stocked up on food, water and weapons, in case if **** hits the fan.....
I have a very low income, but I have managed to store water enough for my family for 2 weeks and food for 3 months. It's not too late and you can do it on a budget, friends. Start now!
True…however those who prepared like you in California & N Carolina didn’t help…..all food/water preps gone..now amongst the ruble!…the answer is 🙏 yes, prepare for about three weeks, but don’t go crazy because if your house burns down or gets annihilated by a tornado, earthquake, fire, etc.… You may need that money for something else like renting a place until you can rebuild or find another dwelling to live in.
Dirt-cheap preps: Beans, rice, tuna, cooking oil, peanuts, raisins, wheat flour, jams and jellies, peanut butter, salt, spices, a good multivitamin, and wild-foraged greens (available almost everywhere) are surprisingly nutritious and really cheap.
I’m a single female prepper in Arkansas, and I felt very prepared for the snow from the hours of your videos I have viewed. My next step is to set up raised bed gardens and a rain catchment system. I like your practical solutions and non militaristic tone. Single women can be preppers, too, and we have to be self reliant.
If this and Helene didn't convince ya'll, nothing will. You're doing good work. Take Care.

People in hurricane zones are (or should be) prepared with things stashed for emergencies. Batteries, extra food and water. Helene victums have been in a flood plain since 1918, everyone should check flood maps before buying property.
I’m in southern CA (about an hour and a half drive away from the burn areas but who knows what will happen later🤷🏻♂️), go bags are in vehicles my wife & I use. Living in earthquake country forces you to prepare
@@NerdsWorldNYCPalestine Anna the food warehouses are because companies won’t stop cutting corners and running skeleton crews and lobbying for deregulation. Which is about to get worse, since even more needed regulations and watch agencies are going to get cut
I am in NorCal and almost all insurance companies have left our area. If you are military or ex-military you can get coverage through USAA without being price gouged. Thanks for keeping us all going, informed, and encouraged.
My mother and myself are going to learning to grow vegetables. Your site is so useful. The vegetables at the store aren't good tasting or last in the fridge. They spoil quickly. My mom is 91 and I am 60 and disabled. It gave me great advice. I am losing weight and walking. So my stamina improves.
My daughter is mildly disabled intellectually and not much help, and I'm 70, so you're in good company learning to grow and I agree about the grocery store produce. We have a small yard and I'm doing several raised beds. I also ordered my carpenter to build a small hen house/roost and am incubating eggs. Hopefully, I'll end up with 3 or 4 hens out of a dozen eggs. The roos will have to be harvested. I am a city girl at heart and "never" taught to live like this, but I have now culled one rooster and, like you, above all odds willing to learn new skills. LOVE, COURAGE
Try to find local people who garden in your area. They love to talk about their gardening and will share. What grows good locally is good to know. Also depending in where you live you may be able to plant multiple gardens. I am in zone 6 and I plant a spring, summer and fall garden. When one plant is finished then I plant some else. Your local extension service might be able to help you about what to plant and when.
You may want to consider a container garden called a Green Stalk. It has several pockets to grow in and can be managed by someone in a wheel chair once it is set up. The other beautiful thing about it is it only takes up just under 3 square feet of space.
I teach high school English, and on Friday, I had a student ask what was happening in California. I mentioned the wildfires. She said she thought it was just AI on TikTok. She was oblivious to the reality. This is the real threat of AI.
Good to see you Kris. I was starting to become concerned for you and your family. I hope you're all able to stay safe and your homes intact. This is so heartbreaking to see, and I can't imagine going through it. My thoughts are with you all there in California. Thank you for your logical, thorough, and fact-based explanation of what is occurring.
I live in north Idaho. Fires are my biggest danger. I have sent quite a few dollars setting up my property to be able to protect my home and shops from fire. I put in 5000 gallon tanks to hold water. Gas pumps hooked into sprinklers surrounding my building. A portable fire fighting setup to move around my property and neighbors to help stop it earlier. I am working with my neighbor, as he is doing the same thing, so we both can use each other water and equipment as needed in case one of us is not there.
This isn’t over yet. The wind just started again about 30 min ago here (Eastern Ventura County, CA) and the windstorm will stick around until Wednesday. It’s only a matter of time before another fire starts nearby. It’s dryer here than I ever remember it being before. I’m charging my devices & power banks, putting all my valuables, important documents, sentimental items, and essentials by my front door. It’s only a matter of time before we lose power again (we didn’t have power from 1am Tuesday - 1pm Thursday) or have to evacuate due to another fire. My entire neighborhood could have been lost a few years ago during Woolsey, and I was not prepared to evacuate. We fled with nothing but the clothes on our back, and I refuse to ever feel that helpless again.
keep an eye out for suspicious people or vehicles in your neighborhood, wouldn't hurt to tell friends as well, I've seen it reported that some people are starting fires across LA (maybe other places too but mostly LA from what I've heard). Some people have even been arrested for arson, stay safe out there y'all.
Single mom of 3 and I’ve been prepping for some time now. Small things add up. I started my garden last year and this year will try and double my harvest. Just started my bug out bags. So happy I found your channel.
My 'bob' is a large backpack. I know I will not be able to carry it all the time and because I always over pack, I put small wheels on the lower frame so, when necessary, I can drag it easier. Limitations aside, practice helps as well. Go on day hikes and over-nighters with your kids and your bob's. (even in your back yard) Familiarize yourself with the areas you might have to escape to. I hope we never have to use them though. Best of luck to all of us.
I have seen some very cruel tweets about the California fires, look, no matter who you voted for or support, there are times even being prepared cannot always save you,,, let,s have sympathy for those who lost everything,,, I know how I would feel if it were me,,, ❤❤
The Gov will not save you. I live in area in Western nc that was devastated by helen. It still looks like a war zone. Neighbors and normal regular people have come from other states to help especially in beginning. Right now it has significantly decreased and no Gov. Help. The country singers that made so many million $ donated $ to the larger institutions that help regularly. We still have folks living in tents during this winter vortex. I don't understand our government sending million or billions to foreign countries but do not come to the aid of its citizens. SHTF YOU ON YOUR OWN. PREPARE BEST YOU CAN
To be fair, total foreign aid is less than 2% of the federal budget. That said, you're right. Prepare and plan to protect yourself. The NC govt or even FEMA can't possibly help 10,000s of unprepared people.
Noticed City Prepping isn't talking about the looting? Doesn't talk about how it could've been prevented if DEI wasn't a fire chief? Doesn't talk about sending fire equipment to Ukraine? Doesn't even like the comments that talk about it. But talks about Climate change having to do with the fire? Chris is still going to vote Newsom, even after the fire.
I'm in NE Tennessee. Even local news doesn't talk about flood anymore. Check out how many people are still missing. Apparently it's not a fatality unless they find the body. We'll be finding bodies for years to come
I’ve started prepping yesterday and was surprised by how much I could buy at a low cost. I’m 100% sure these fires won’t be the last disaster we see this year. I’m happy I found this channel to guide me in this process.
I always thought the concept of city prepping is silly, but this is a perfect example of while the city may not be sustainable In a grid down scenario, you still need to prep for other disasters.
I continue to prep incl gardening, canning, cooking wholesome meals for health and am now delving into making my own simple herbal remedies so as not to be dependent on pharmaceuticals. I learn so much from this channel Kris. Thank you for your hard work!
I grew up in Florida and started helping my mother with hurricane prep in May of 1960. Your channel has helped move me toward having preparedness be a daily lifestyle, not a once a year or seasonal event.

I have been aware of hurricane prep for decades, living near the gulf coast.
I can't believe someone would stay behind with their dog. If you feel the need to stay behind get the dog to safety!!! My dog is one of my kids, I wouldn't keep my son, daughter, grandkids or my dog in harm's way.
Your clear and calm demeanor is appreciated. I’ll admit that I am afraid. Not for me. Life has thrown me a few curveballs. I’ve survived them all. I was raised by a cadre of strong, resilient women. Most of them survived and even thrived in the Great Depression. But we’ve done a poor job of nurturing that resilience in next generations. I fear that many will suffer greatly because of it. 💔
We are active supporting the community in this devastation. Sadly, I think this is just the beginning of several more disasters we'll see across the country and world this year. Saty safe.
I watched a documentary in the 90s about this. California was told why it was increasing and how to prevent it, but it became political issue, in other areas where they have large forest listened to the science and applied it and do not have these problems or at least not as severe. In fact, they allow the fire to burn which cleans the forest floor since they started doing that the flames never get high enough to catch the trees on fire or last long enough to dry the trees out. Californians were told what to do a long time ago. They were also told that it would only get worse if they didn't listen. Guess what it's only getting worse.
I am in NW Florida and we are expecting 27 F degree cold for several hours tonight. Summers are hot and humid but we've learned how to deal but cold is not the norm for us. Our hearts and prayers are .with those in California and the lingering hardship for those in N. Carolina My late husband and I have been prepping for over 25 years but age is creeping up and our children/grandchildren don't seem to recognize the reality of what we may face. My response to life today is "Don't be afraid, be prepared!" Thank you for your clear, compassionate sharing of information and advice.
you sound like someone who hangs out on 4chan all day. go outside, get away from your computer, you'd do well taking a break from all the fear and doom and gloom being used to keep you scared and sounding quite frankly a bit in need of a psychiatrist.

I read that Santa Anna winds occur from August to November and do not blow in January. Also, the Santa Anna winds blow from the SW not the NE. This is something entirely different.
This is by far the best explanation of the LA fires that I have read. BRAVO!!!!!! Well done. Please post it on all sites that are blaming this that and the other.
No nonsense, unbiased, factual information from a trustworthy person who lives in California is the best way to get our news regarding these fires. Just a few of many reasons I have followed this channel for several years now.
People don’t think about if they have to abandon their vehicle. I applaud your forward thinking. I was thinking I would attach a small wagon to my bike.
Preparedness has been a focus for me for years. With limited income it has taken a long time to get supplies and projects completed. I share information with my much younger colleagues at work. I was recently encouraged. One of my colleagues shared that the annual gift of water and supplies has enticed her to begin her own preps. Several other colleagues chimed in saying they too are putting together emergency pantries and go bags. So doing small things has helped my community.😊😊
"You can ignore politics, but politics will not ignore you" This fire could have been prevented, if the corrupt DEI Hires weren't in power. Instead its being blamed by the same DEI Hires on Climate change and Chris is buying it
his leftist liberal views show through and he even specifically stated the government did not cause this... I am sure this guy has a Gavin Newsom 2028 poster on his wall. he has not been as much of a loser, but lately it really shows through...
Thank you again for always having the Closed Captioning enabled. Having just lost what was left of my hearing 2 years ago, I had a rude awakening finding many of my favorite RUclips channels did not have CC, or did a poor job of it. Geologist from Kentucky here. We got snowed in for 2 days before I was able to get our vehicles out. I pay attention to the weather and made sure we were stocked up on food and fuel to last for at least a week. On the subject of your water supply: How much data do you have about your subsurface area? Do you know how deep your water table is? I know California is pretty strict about water usage. They won’t be happy if they find out that you’re storing water, so make sure it’s well hidden. Possibly dig out a root cellar and hide some water storage tanks below ground. Fill them slowly so that your usage doesn’t show a sudden spike, and they shouldn’t notice.
@@blameyourmamma What’s pathetic? I’m a disabled veteran with a service connected knee injury. I can’t clear a lot of snow and ice away from my apartment.
I felt far less anxious during both Helene and yesterday's uncommon snow and ice event because I had some prepa standing by. I'm in the city and am looking forward to continuing to improve my self sufficiency. I really value your channel as a source of education and information. Thanks for your continued efforts!
Finally, a proper explanation of the fires. A fire-fighter also explained this morning, that buildings with sprinklers, and there are many, automatically open their valves and vainly dump water without let-up. In a firestorm, like these, nothing can save each building, especially as building after building sprays in vain---and the water pressure drops.
The fires are a severe reminder that you can store all you want to "bug in", but wow you need to be ready to flee with just the same amount of prep. I'm planning to better my family "bug out" supplies and plan for sure. Keep up the great educational work Kris!
Spot on as always Kris, our climate is always changing, and the government is definitely not coming to bail anyone out. We definitely need to keep prepping and evolving with our mentality regarding constant change. Sticking our heads into the sand, believing that ignorance is bliss can only lead to our demise.
Kris, I will be praying for you, your family and your team, that the Lord protect you and your properties. I fully agree with you. We need to continue preparing and I have been encouraging family and friends to do the same.
The wicked burn, and people in Commiefornia who voted Newsom and wanted DEI hire fire chiefs, maybe they to need a wakeup call, it may be God's will. Chris has a major bias for the liberal talking point. Look how he's blaming Climate change for this mismanagement. If you listen to this closet liberal you should prepare for the next California fire, next year.
So you're really saying lack of water and budgets cuts to both preemptive and defensive measures are NOT part of the "bigger picture"? Seriously?? Sure let's put singular blame on the weather. The fires were not a "natural distaster". It was started by a human and then became a disaster from the state's failure in preparedness. Let's be real. If only the insurance companies wouldn't have held so tight to their crystal ball that showed what was going to happen. If the insurance companies had time to prepare (by dropping thousands of policies) you can't convince me that the people in charge couldn't have done more to prep too.
Thank you for providing an informed and level headed approach to prepping. It's so tiring hearing prepping channels tell people the most important thing is a gun and all the ammo you can afford.
This is a great example of poor management and preparing can do. Let’s not forget the fact that they DRAINED the tanks weeks before the fire and never refilled them.
If this was a case of "mother nature's blow torch" then every tree in the path of the fire would be burned. When you look at overhead pictures of the neighborhoods effected by the fires, only the houses are burned and virtually every tree between the houses are fine... totally green and lush (yes, some trees burned, but relatively few). The only explanation I can think of is the smart meters on these homes caused the fires (they are known to spontaneously catch on fire). Or there's some kind of technology I don't know about that would cause this pattern. I've been in a forest after a devastating fire and EVERY tree was burned for miles. These pictures don't make any sense. They are paving the way for LA smart city 2028.
Great info Kris, I always appreciate your videos. The fires in CA are tragic and I’m praying for all affected. It did cause me to evaluate my ability to be full prepared to leave my home should I be required to leave my home (I live in PA). I did tweak a few things but overall I’m ready to go. Watching your videos has significantly helped in my preparedness. Thank you for all the hard work you and your team do to provide such great information. Be safe.
Thanks Kris! Always enjoy your informative videos. Always a good reminder to re-check our preps and figure out where we can improve. Hope you all continue to remain safe!
My sin is in LA between palisades & Eaton. Please pray for him. Hoping you and your family are safe Chris Iur prayers go out to the families affected & those who have lost loved ones✝️🙏🕊️🕯️
Sending this from my husband's link. Dude gets rid of the gum tree near your garden. 1) they randomly drop large branches no wind or snow loading required ( they are called widow-makers for a reason) 2) They suck all the nutrients from your garden 3) they burn incredibly easily. The oils in the leaves form a volatile halo at high temperatures which can combust without flame. 4) there is a good amount of the best possible firewood in it. Cut it and split it ASAP then leave it a good 12 months to dry. Very little soot, ash and an excellent heat output.
Purchased 20 acres back in April '24. Moved the family out of the city and into the mountains. Have 3 cows and 11 chickens so far. Need to start the garden in spring.
Thinking about the issues here in Phoenix, we've had the warmest winter and no rain since August. Makes me concerned to see how hot things will get in the summer.
I live in northeast Mississippi. We had tornadoes hit the weekend after Christmas. One touched down in our backyard and neighborhood. Our home is fine, but we were without power for over 24 hours. Then, about two weeks later, we got snow and a deep freeze! These weather swings have definitely caught my attention! Thankful for our preps and for you! Keep up the good work!
Just Saw a YT video from a SCal traveler woman talking about her evac from past Oakland fire and her “Go” bag for getting far out of Dodge or to an evac center. Her reasoning for items made me think. This week starting to make such a bag to put right by door and upping other supplies in each vehicle. The rest of my life, few years or decades long will be “interesting”. Always good information from you Kris. Thank you

I am a Prepper I am from Kansas and we had that terrible snow storm this past week. I had no problems with food availability. I dried milk, dried eggs and a good supply of canned food. We had our electricity and so cooking was not a problem I started prepping about a year ago and I’m so glad I did. my pantry on a daily basis and follow the guidelines of prepping of using her stand last out. I really enjoy your program and try to catch it every week. Thank you you have a great week.
A woman who stayed behind and didn't evacuate said she saw a whole bunch of guys coming down the street on scooters and at first she thought they were people coming to help and then she realized they were coming to loot the neighborhood. Something else we need to think about very carefully. The interview was cut short so I don't know what she did afterwards.
Not in small town Texas they won't. It's nowhere as beautiful here as in most coastal blue cities, but our right to protect our own property is intact.
@@lonestarskywatcher6279 Yes they will if the government orders everyone to evacuate and there's nobody left. How are you going to protect your properties when you're no longer around.
@@James-ke5sx Well that's a good point and there are cases where the gov might order a shelter in place order & I'd get the heck out of dodge anyway being near a hwy. There are some valuables I need to get into my warehouse unit. I think they would be safer there than in the house if I had to leave.
The only way to fight a fire like that is to not get a fire like that. Control burn stuff. I'm so glad I went behind the house and grabbed all that dead brush.
Thank you for providing the actual, unemotional facts about how the severity of the California fire could NOT be quenched by the physical infrastructure! I’m so tired of half-facts and blame in outlining crises; you never fail to do the research that inspires me to my own investigation. Thanks, Kris. Hope you and your family keep safe out west there.
I agree with you and appreciate the TRUTH. It is important to know the limitations of our municipalities so we can adequately prepare. Knowing if we can count on hydrants, water pressure or fire suppression systems installed in your infrastructure.
When hydrants are dry it is government's fault. One reservoir was empty. Their power and phone lines were above ground. Mine are below in Orange county. The brush was not maintained, which is the public and governments fault. Rebuilding is full of red tape with mandatory solar requirements. My state and city are forcing stack n packs by the 10s of thousands with no road evacuation upgrades.
The city of Richmond had a failure in the system and did not have water from January 6 until about an hour ago when they lifted the boil order. A lot of people in the area did not even have a drip coming from their sink. I later learned that our infrastructure is 100 years old and something needs to be done. Luckily, I live in a county outside of Richmond in one of the only ones not affected. Other county surrounding were affected as well with the boil order, but we’re also just lifted. There were hours that went by before anyone was notified that there was a boil order after the failure. 😡 I am very thankful my house was not affected and despite everything that the area around us is not burning down like California. Prayers for all my friends and the occupants of those counties burning. 😞
No matter how bad it gets or how badly the government manages disasters, many will still wait for the government agencies to rescue them. Sad fact of life.
This was another interesting video. We started updating our home to be more energy efficient over the last 20 years. We added solar and geothermal. We made little changes like on demand hot water. We have focused more on food production. Every year we plant more food producing bushes and trees. We have had a drought for 3 years in the upper Midwest. We are looking into rain catchment systems to help with watering all the gardens. In 2023, we experienced 119 degrees with the heat index. This year was our first year that we were hit by a tornado. Our tornado shelter came in handy. Stay safe everyone.
I was born in SoCal 70 yrs ago. The normal cycle there is drought, fire, then mudslides. Over and over. And everyone acted surprised when it happened. It looks like now they have built a bunch of housing tracts where there used to be scattered houses here and there. When there were scattered houses, the people who kept the area around their houses cleared, did not burn. Those that didnt clear around their houses did burn. That is the point of prepping. Don't depend on others to take care of you.
I grew up in LA County (left in 1989). I don’t remember one fire. A teacher died in a drive by shooting, earthquakes, enjoying Santa Ana winds during winter break so we could go to Ave C, r taught to not flush for #1, But no fires.
@@Noname-u2b And the wind knocked it all down due to climate change or mismanagement? The fire hydrants don't have water due to climate change? OP was shouting the obvious, how this was preventable. Don't blame the wind, don't blame the nature. Blame the people in power who allowed this to happen and are now blaming your SUV for climate change
Thank you, Kris. As always , your insights are the information that I take and build on. Your calm application versus panic or chaotic zombie apocalyptic doom is reassuring. Onward and forward is the race towards our goal for being prepared. I am praying for you and your community that you all remain safe.
I wondered whether you might be affected by the fires! My heart goes out to everyone there! It's certainly more important now than ever to be prepared for any kind of disaster. I'm glad that we are putting in siding that is fire resistant and taking other measures to reduce our risks from fire and other potential safety concerns.
Living in the UK, in a boat on the inland waterways and i STILL find your channel really useful! I knew you were kosher when you referred to watching what the insurance companies are doing in a particular area.. They make their money by accurately crunching a ridiculously huge amount of data, only a fool would ignore that.. i used to work for them, and if this was true 10 years ago it's 100 times more true today. The other thing i like is how many women engage with your content - also a biggreen flag for me..
Well, things are going to be more interesting in the next 5 years than it has been in the last 500 years. The Polar shift happening presently is unprecedented. I’m as prepared as I can afford to be. So, I’m going to enjoy life on my own terms whenever I can. It’s going to be what it’s going to be!
I’ve lived in NYC for 70yrs and I’m amazed at how the weather has changed here. Our boots and heavy coats have sat in our closet,it’s been very unseasonal for the past several years. It’s not that we want cold and snow but we’re used to it and this is kinda weird. We know the snow and cold are coming at some point (maybe February?) but the weather here is definitely not normal. Loved this episode!
Thank you, for all this content. It’s been very informative and really helpful. -as I’m frighteningly new to the community. Please keep up the great work
I don't see mismanagement as irrelevant. All pieces to the puzzle are part of the problem. Even if you assume these fires are inevitable, why shouldn't the government have also prepared? Are citizens the only ones required to prepare for disaster? I'm not saying to put your hopes in the government, but it is also their job to maintain and protect infrastructure.
i am in Sweden and the prime minister just said in the news yesterday that its not really peace in Sweden. Interesting. I am thinking to get an RV or a camper to be able to bug out if things gets super heated. A lot about this in the news lately, with safe rooms in the city being brushed up to be ready to be in use quickly and the leaflet ' if the war or the crisis is coming' to every household with very basic info like every household has to have more than 7 days of water and food stored and how to act in various situations and general knowledge about fly alarms and things like that. And its a lot of opinions and building up, and also about the 'boiling frog' thing, that refers to how it slowly been starting and building up, and if the water would have been boiling, the frog would jump out instead of being cooked. So that the 'acceptance' of the level of 'whatever is going on' is only because it's been heating up over time. So interesting times for sure.
We were hit by the snow/ice storms. Having the right preps made things much easier. Thanks for putting out constant, constructive content! Best wishes to everyone hit in LA
The weather affected me and my sister who were going to meet my brother in Dallas last Thursday. So we cancelled our flight on SW Airlines who were wonderful. I have come to the conclusion that the climate is changing faster than ever. I moved away from the Gulf Coast to about 20 miles from southern Alabama and just got USAA to insure my home. They dropped me when I lived 6 miles from the coast. Take care everyone. Store an extra gallon of water today. Peace.
Unfortunately, that still might not be far enough. Ashville got dumped despite being very inland. Anywhere closer to the coastline than Tennessee and Missouri can get drenched now.
I live in rural mountainous NY, own an organic farm, and am a biochemist that has studied pollution chemistry for 25 years. In fall, we had an unprecedented drought in November. Generally, we have snow by November. There were 40 fires in the Southern Catskills, and a large fire in the Berkshires due East. They were pretty far from me, but I was freaked out because we simply don't see this. I'm in my 40s, we don't get wildfires here folks. Occasionally we see a fire but its usually from some city slicker starting a campfire improperly. I've been farming my entire life, the climate of today is not what it was even 15 years ago. Every year, I'm tweaking things to keep up with the climate chaos to keep plants alive. Thankfully, we got rain, but just 2 days later, about 2 miles from my house, a tree came down on a power line in the forest and started a brush fire. If we hadn't had that rain, I have no idea what would have happened. My organic business is also a plant nursery, I am taking some permaculture classes at a local arboretum. Part of the class is climate resilience, using plants to slow drought and even to prevent fires from reaching your home. Highly recommend permaculture because it serves as a food source and protection. We need a new roof soon and are going with the most fire resistant material after the fire scares this fall because here's the thing: the govt will not save you, they are beholden to billionaires who will let us all fry, starve, or drown for the mighty dollar.
Thanks, Khris! The events of late 2024 and early 2025 gave me a lot to think about. I appreciate your focus on the facts and staying away from the spin
Thank you for speaking the clear, unemotional truth, as usual. You didn't mention how bizarrely expensive our only choice of insurance is. I live near Tehachapi, and I was dropped. California Fair Plan tripled my premiums, which had already doubled the year before. I am glad I have something, but . . good heavens. Keep up the good work.
You are one of the few prepper channels that I watch now. Most others have gone off the deep end with doom and gloom. We dont need that kind of media with all the negativity in the world. Thanks for being practical and logical without all the sensationalism.

it's a war zone here.
The key is to keep it simple. Remember a fuel source and a stove. If rural. Wood and a rocket stove are easy solutions.

Yes. Every little bit helps. You are going in the right direction!

Good work!

Prepared. That's smart.
I sure hope it doesn't get to you but glad you're prepared. Stay safe! 🥰

This was the first time California had caught fire. So there was no way to prevent anything! Right?

The cart is smart, but beware of envious eyes! Op Sec is crucial.

And the real fun begins January 20th, buckle up!
They're definitely manipulating the weather (and have been for years) but regardless lets pray for one another and get to work preparing. ❤

We got snowed in for 2 days before I was able to get our vehicles out. I pay attention to the weather and made sure we were stocked up on food and fuel to last for at least a week.
On the subject of your water supply:
How much data do you have about your subsurface area? Do you know how deep your water table is? I know California is pretty strict about water usage. They won’t be happy if they find out that you’re storing water, so make sure it’s well hidden. Possibly dig out a root cellar and hide some water storage tanks below ground. Fill them slowly so that your usage doesn’t show a sudden spike, and they shouldn’t notice.
That's a pathetic statement.

God for you! Actually explaining what happened without getting political or looking to blame someone.
My prepping had increased exponentially over the last few months... so grateful for the treasure trove of guidance on this channel!
What are the 'odds',,,eh? They want us to believe in coincidences, not facts.

Sending this from my husband's link. Dude gets rid of the gum tree near your garden. 1) they randomly drop large branches no wind or snow loading required ( they are called widow-makers for a reason)
2) They suck all the nutrients from your garden
3) they burn incredibly easily. The oils in the leaves form a volatile halo at high temperatures which can combust without flame.
4) there is a good amount of the best possible firewood in it. Cut it and split it ASAP then leave it a good 12 months to dry. Very little soot, ash and an excellent heat output.

The fire has been proven to be arson...
The winds were unprecedented in this case. Utility polls/trees knocked over, and transformers caught fire.
The WIND BLEW EMBERS for miles and miles, AND A LOT OF THEM IGNITED WHERE THEY LANDED! That's not the norm.
I grew up in LA County (left in 1989). I don’t remember one fire. A teacher died in a drive by shooting, earthquakes, enjoying Santa Ana winds during winter break so we could go to Ave C, r taught to not flush for #1, But no fires.

Please keep up the great work
This is why I like watching your updates as you give a balanced and researched report
7:19pm, 1/11. great delivery of a lot of critical information. The even tone calms the listener making it easier to stay focused and engaged.
I have Swedish genes on both sides of my family! Plus some British, Polish and Norwegian.
@@hlnbee congratulations for being a super European 💜
Thank you for the updates and tutorials.
Very happy to know that you are safe at this time and keeping everyone in prayer. Thank you for the news update it helps a lot. Be safe.
Me too. I had no idea he was in Cali. Not sure if that's considered SoCal bc it's kinda middle of the state. I have relatives in N Cal Sierra mountain region. It's the most beautiful area I've ever seen.
We are active supporting the community in this devastation. Sadly, I think this is just the beginning of several more disasters we'll see across the country and world this year. Saty safe.
@ Thanks, and God Bless
We live in SW Ohio. Since Jan 5th we received about 14" total of snow. Today is got to 34 and it felt amazing. Roads were bad. Grateful for a good vehicle. I had my cold weather kit in the car where i could reach it if needed. We had everything situated ar our home as well. Thankfully we did not lose power. Thanks for the info
Watching someone film themselves in their home aka personal crematory while flames are literally at your front door is insane. My prayers are with everyone involved but GET OUT! Don't do what the person in the first clip did.
Yeah, but think of all the Instagram likes he's going to get!
