If you do Gilgamesh can you please remember Enkidu is a hybrid human / Nephalim created by Enki.
Also that there are many versions of this story that have changed according to the political climate of the region that the version was written down in.
Remember Gilgamesh is the villain, he represents the uncontrolled ego of man and how mens selfish ambition has ruined the earth and cut us of from our spiritual parents.
The story shows more than anything that listening to the advice of foolish people who only serve to feed the ego leads to disaster.
It is not a heroes tale, it is a Tragedy.
The death of the Bull of heaven ended the golden age, the response was to condemn Enkidu to death aka the Nephalim. It was Innana who cursed Enkidu to death which would suggest it was her who instigated Enlil to bring the flood. Note that the flood condemned Enlil to the underworld. There is so much to gilgamesh, do not approach it lightly.
You may not think so but it covers Atlantis and the golden age, the fall of man, the changing of the solar system, Saturn was known as the sun, the bull of heaven when in line with Jupiter, Venus, Mars, moon.
After the flood we were given Helios, the full power of the sun with its UV rays in filtered by the other planets causing humans and animals to age quicker. Anyway good luck. 💙🌈

Enki eating his own semen and becoming sick kinda reminds me what happens to Seth in Myth of Kingship. Since these were very patriarcal cultures, men "swallowing it" and homosexuality seems to be viewed as dishonorable.

Exactly, Enki is Set, we have just moved out of the house of Pieces, whos planet was Neptune, Enki's planet or Set whatever you prefer, same person, different names in different cultures and time period.
      Enki, mesopotamian. Set, Egyptian.
      Neptune, Greek same in Rome.
Bearing that in mind that would explain the last 2000 years of chaos, also makes you wonder who Jesus really was and why all Christian religions are full of repressed Gay people and child abusers.
It follows the God of the ages personality, so I don't think homosexuality was dishonorable, but more like Enki couldn't get over himself.
Thank God we are in Aquarius, the age of Anu, or Amun, or El or Saturn. Same guy. He was in charge during the last golden age. Really good guy, now there's a man who doesn't mind being himself, in Egypt he was known as he she. the clue is in the name, for fucks sake he has a planet called Uranus, a sense of humour like no one in the galaxy. His friends call him Del boy. I love him, pure class. 💙

Semen was considered sacred and the root of life in a lot of ancient patriarchal cultures, while women were more just vessels for it. So eating semen, or “spilling it on the ground” as in seen in one biblical story was considered a transgression against the natural order because it’s being “wasted” and not used for life. Or in the case of Enki, maybe symbolic of rebirth cycles. You’d have to look at cultural context and make you best guess.
I don’t think stories like Enki was necessarily linked to homosexual behavior or even a negative view of such, depending on time and culture of course. Things get complicated quickly since our ideas of sexual behavior, identity, snd social roles are completely different from 50 years ago let alone 500, 1000, or 3000, you know?
It is ironic that with science we now know about eggs, how the default sex in the womb is female until the DNA gets the Y chromosome message, and that sperm picks the sex and fertilizes the eggs

Osiris married his sister Isis (though this appears to be a far more healthy relationship), and they got Horus, the god of the sky and kingship. Osiris also slept with his other sister, Nephthys (there are many versions of how that happened), and they got Anubis, god of mummification.

    a) after giving up on Enki's deformed man, Enki puts it in the care of a woman who could not conceive and ultimately gives her a way to channel her motherly love, showing that even those deemed a lost cause can have a purpose in life.

I've always seen Ninhursag as being more "African" in her appearance, a mix of Missy Elliot with Aretha Franklin, Lauryn Hill and Asa.
    This image fits Artemis.
Ninhursag is Damkina, Ninmah, Mama, Mami and Damgalnuna.
She is the "Goddess Mother" statue without a head.
The co-creator and surrogate mother of mankind.

@@js1423 why? Because you’re reading the middle eastern variant?
What ethnicity is Inanna if she’s Ishtar and Aphrodite?
If Hermes is Thoth and Nabu and Lugh what do you choose?
If Utu is Apollo and Belinus?
Not even delving into African, East Asian, and South American variants.

@@Spoeism The gods are local characters? Inanna, Utu and Nabu are Middle Eastern, Apollo, Hermes and Aphrodite are Mediterranean Greek, Lugh and Belinus are standard European look. Thoth doesn't really have an ethnicity, since he has the head of an ibis-bird.

Artistic choice? I don't get it either, and most of the Mesopotamian deities so far have been either Middle Eastern by appearance or possessed a special colour, such as a purple Nergal.
