Dear Morgan,
I've been watching quite a few of your youtube uploads/performances, and this is the one, after finding you for the 1st time on youtube, that sells it. In most of the videos I watch, you are epic, but I see a lot of shifts in register and tone - and next to that a hell of a lot of soul - but nothing tieing everything together. They feel like trying to fit a whole trilogy into one song.. And in this song, your singing stays connected and in the same style and vibe throughout the song. And it really works like magic.

I understand what you mean, but imo I think it might be because she prefers to remain ‘independent’ and NOT be massively publicized by the media, management teams, restrictions that go along with this, etc. But I do agree 👍 that she’s a very talented vocalist. I’ve been listening to her for years now (I’m 70ish and 💕 ALL genres of music and always will).

A brave choice - to perform of one of Simply Red's greatest hits.
I am so used to you being just so much better than the original artists; for instance - maps, I have no idea why everyone in the world has not revelled in your incredible performance and you have not gotten the deserved acclaim (as well as your backing singers). Then there is 'Take me to church'.......just incredible and way better than the original. Do not start me on 'dear prudence'....OMG - one of the best pieces of music I will ever hear. I could go on and on and on....
In this case however, I'm afraid, if I have to be honest, I would give it to Simply Red. Saying that (negative comment) I so look forward to your next release. Still cannot believe you are not one of the most famous singers on the planet, you are one of the best.

Such a beautiful voice. She never fails to deliver a new and amazing version with any song she does. My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting her and her husband at a meet and greet before a concert; as beautiful as her voice is, she as a person, and them as a couple, were even more beautiful! Down to Earth, friendly, and personable. The show itself was phenomenal. I highly recommend if you ever get a chance to see and hear her live, take that opportunity!!!
As a Philly boy who has loved this song forever, I never thought anybody but Teddy, Harold and the Bluenotes could ever do it justice. (And that includes the dishwater version by Simply Awful Red).

As Motown born and raised. I call it crap. What is the deal with singers doing that warbleing like at 1:30 and at the end? Can't they hit the first note in that phrase, so they have to sneak up on it? Even Harold Melvin was a bit guilty in the original. Ruined what could have been my favorite song ever.

A song I would sing in the ear of my girlfriend during her insecure days when we going out ....I would tell her that her insecurity is something that is not attractive and something that she's gonna have to fix cuz I can't do it from my end....I felt it was a form if her trying control me which is not his a relationship works....she finally figured it out and we've been married for 32 years with 2 fabulous boys ....a great song which brings me back to the days when I was young where I guess we were all insecure one time or another but had to get past it on our own and in our own minds

A few people on this page have asked why she is not a huge star already. It's because unfortunately these days, all the "wildly famous" singers can't just sit and sing -- they have to be able to carry out elaborate choreography and must be willing to be hypersexual in costume and antics.
Just someone I don’t care for…can’t exactly put my finger on it. Appears to have the whole pkg….something amiss. Maybe not all that humble when cameras arenas rolling. Remember Susan Anton…great at everything but career just never took off.

Ha! Ha!. This Song really helped epitomize the Songwriting Legendary Genius of Kenny Gamble/Leon Huff. I'm not sure which one but one of them worked with Daryl Hall when he was started out in The Temptones (Named after his Alma Mater Temple University). It's rumoured that one of their Songs is played every Six Minutes. Also Stirling Gallacher (Paula Martin Coronation Street/Ffion Casualty) sang a snippet when she played Dr. Georgeanna Woodson aka "George" on The Doctors.

Yes I love this song, I gave it thumbs down. I am always trying to find new bands. Look all the voices are just so so, it's almost there. I really had a hard time giving a thumbs down, it's missing something, I keep think power & the harmony , I think that is what you are missing .OK strike the orcastra, you can't do that but you missed capturing the power of the harmony. You are doing a cover song, you did it good, good is not enough, you have to capture the feel, it's the harmony you ate missing, there is a tiny bit of harmony, in other words background vocals are important especially here... sorry gave it thumbs down. You are doing a cover against a ton of other cover bands. Nothing wrong with covers they highlight the best in music.. this goes well in basic clubs, listen to Lenoind & friends or HSCC, your close

I must have heard the original for too long. Morgan this is out of your lane. I have mad respect for your vocal talent on other songs. But you can't fake "soul". I know when I do a song and I'm pretending to have that style, it's just not quite there. Just my opinion.
