I think it's a good idea/trend that only an artist as big as Ye can set, because obviously we've already seen that these music companies don't care about the artists and the people who listen to the music. But of course it should be more well-thought-out if ye wants other artists to break free from being slaves of the industry. I think Radiohead did it best when they released their classic, 'In Rainbows', as it was released for free on their website, and basically people could pay whatever they wanted for the album, assigning their own personal value to the project. If I'm not mistaken, they made millions from that record, at the time, and even more now of course, since it's on streaming platforms. Ye could release volume 2 & 3 with the "pay-what-you-want" model on his website and eventually (a time frame that makes sense and is sustainable) let it get on to streaming services. I'm sure fans would be more open to this idea.

I seriously don’t understand how someone could be your favorite artist or one of your favorites and you don’t feel like 20 bucks is worth it to support them and hear a brand new album early (not you specifically but any Ye fan) and it’s a good cause to help take power away from the corrupt music industry. Music means so much to so many people I really don’t see how people justify thinking it should be a free service just because it always has been due to piracy . A lot of work goes into making an album and it’s more valuable to your life than most things you spend money on . as a fan I actually posted this on Ye's twitter a week ago, Glad to see he listens to his fans. The idea is after the first sales everyone will just stream the music as soon as its uploaded anyway, so its only a few days later and we help support the movement and ye made a few million without the powers that be being able to steal or stop it.

I seriously don’t understand how someone could be your favorite artist or one of your favorites and you don’t feel like 20 bucks is worth it to support them and hear a brand new album early (not you specifically but any Ye fan) and it’s a good cause to help take power away from the corrupt music industry.
Music means so much to so many people I really don’t see how people justify thinking it should be a free service just because it always has been due to piracy . A lot of work goes into making an album and it’s more valuable to your life than most things you spend money on . Personally I used to go see a movie every weekend and will concessions it’s like 20 bucks at least and I saw a lot of movies that are a crappy 2 hour experience. An album is with you 100% time the rest of your life if you choose it.
