BROS!! It's fuckin awesome that other people are actually into the Ogre Battle Saga! General gamers have absolutely no idea of it. It isn't a household name like Final Fantasy is. I played Ogre Battle on the SNES from the ages of 12 to 20, and still play it from time to time & I'm 39. I was never able to experience TO or KOL tho, until now. Downloaded an Emulator for KOL & Ogre Battle, since I no longer own a SNES. Can't wait for TO: Reborn so I can finally experience it. There simply weren't enough copies of Ogre Battle made & it isn't enjoyable without the charts it comes with. Well now with the internet, it is, but back in the day, it wasn't playable without the class chart. So if someone ONLY had the cartridge, it wasn't enjoyable.
I always used to get fist fight emblem to all my archer units; made them better at close quarter combat if any enemy made the choice to come hit them lol
I know this is a year old but I gotta ask, isn't the fastest possible dragoon the B route and do an encounter fight I'm sufrir after doing the story one?
a doubt any unit that dies in battle either a ninja or an angel knight and transforms into a ghost using a lich with necromancy to then use the reincarnation item gives you the emblem the cycle of life but to have the emblem Relix's Emblem it is necessary to have the lich but is this permanent? I mean, once your character is already a lich, there is no turning back? because I would like my flauros to continue being a priest and my kamui Swordmaster :)
@@CoffeePotato You can't do it, I already tried, but once you're a lich there is no going back :P unless you use external cheats to modify the character.
Yeah, managed to get it on another of my units, good skill. still trying to work out how terrain works does a red +10 mean a red does more damage, less damage, takes more or less damage?
So Fire does more more damage, cool. Do the Character Elements have affected damage? So if My Alphonse [Water Element Swordmaster] were to attack someone on a -5 Water square, would they take less damage or not?
Do you have a guide or something to follow to start a new game (getting the best out of the emblems) not requiring getting the lvl 50 character? Awesome guide.... this game is awesome!
Level 50 is straight up never required except for oddly specific challenge runs, but I really should do a new guide for KoL. I do have some on the channel, but can do them far better this week.
@@CoffeePotato I was watching some of the SSC series or the fist fight/mermaid ones, but was looking for a "starting guide" in your experience. Just to cover the reading of the tarot and maybe the first battle (playing with some RNG) to get the best emblems there... Thanks again, CoffePotato!
@@BoboRoboMr Can do, the closest I've come to doing that so far was the Solo Speedrun, but I forget if that got posted. It was a showcase of how to be punching 100s by Formido.
Looking back on this, it seems that Fist Fight actually boosts your unarmed damage to rival that of a Trident (55P) though only being a couple points weaker, but stronger than the Claymore. I would estimate around Fist Fight making unarmed somewhere between 51P-53P.
@@CoffeePotato I'm not sure if you'll be able to see this link since youtube likes to delete messages with links in them sometimes, but I compiled the damage ratings together in one image so that you can see the comparison. Left picture is unarmed. Middle is Claymore. Right is Trident. Both soldiers are level 1 with Earth element. Target's tile is boosting Earth element by 10 while also boosting physical res by 20. User's tile is boosting Earth element by 10 while also boosting physical damage by 30.
@@CoffeePotato From the looks of things, it seems unarmed is actually matched with Trident's power. Not too sure why. Perhaps when I looked at it earlier I may have used Elemental advantages. Either way it seems to undoubtedly be stronger than the Claymore which means Fist Fight (combined with the other stat boosting Emblems) turns you into a post-Chapter 1 character, give or take. I believe the strongest story-mode weapon up to that point is the Fafnir carried by the Dragoon of the White Fang troops (Did one of the mermaids carry a Trident from the battle in Rana? I can't remember.). I am aware of the Volcaetus that you can get from the Numida Chronology, but that's in Quest Mode so I don't count QM.
@@lemonydime4137 True, yeah, so yeah, that's right, the trident comes on Ariel one battle before the Dragoon Beach fight. I figure the most optimal post Formido setup is to roll that Tier 3 tile for a Composite Crossbow, but that's still like....barely even an optimization for the setup and luck required. I plan to put out guides for Int and Agi routes, too, but it's nuts how busted Fist Fight can be.

It's so dang good, it's kinda hilarious. I also used to get it every time, but after seeing how easy the early fairy setup is, Miracle took over.

@@peterh2223 I believe it's all on the output end originating from the square in question, so they'd do less with that element.

great content, about half way through the game on my 1st run, if i had a complaint about it is a touch easy, especially compared to LUCT.
Oh, it's not the most difficult game, but when it spikes, you feel it.

The KoL one? Someone already did a rebalance, I never quite got the result I wanted out of my attempt before getting bogged down by whatever 2020 was.
