To be honest, as much as I love Dustin and what he brings to the show, I hands down believe that MAX was such a superstar this season because her character development was so humane and relatable. Sadie Sink’s acting was top tier.❤️
Sadie can act way better than Gaten and she was one of the best part of this season but Dustin is the smartest character of the group, without him they would’ve died so many times. He is ALWAYS saving the day. Dustin is definitely top three, Max haven’t help the team or contribute that much.

I love Max, she is in my top 10 but she ain’t better than Dustin. Steve becoming a mentor in Season 2 was something nobody thought they needed. It was at that point where people REALLY started to like him. Then they managed to further his growth in Season 3 with Robin. She helped humble him even more by making him realize that a lot of what you think is essential in high school isn't all that important. He learned to make decisions based on what's best for him rather than what he thinks will impress others.
I genuinely believe mike should be higher, just for season 1 alone, like Mike season 1 was my favourite character, he was so sweet to eleven. I feel like he's a really good show of what a normal 15 year old behaves like now, I also think he hasn't had any plot lines since season 2 to really grow past the 'im a teen' stage
I feel his character doesn't have to be complex. He is the straight man and that's okay. He is still a good kid and I love seeing his integrity with helping El.
To be fair Nancy was the one who was rude to Barb. Barb was telling her not to drink and Nancy ignored pressuring Barb to shotgun. And in the end Nancy abandoned her friend by the pool where she was killed. You see it even in season 4 when Vecna goes in Nancy's mind he shows Barbs death as one of the bad memories and regret Nancy had.
I think it was honestly a realistic lapse in judgment within their friendship for both Nancy and Barb. they are kids and were trying to adapt to high school.
I honestly really enjoy watching Jonathan. I think he has been a really waisted character and would really like his relationship with Nancy to grow because when they are together they really complement eachother. P.S. Tysm for all the likes😭 #JancyStan
Exactly. Dustin and Lucas can have a lot of likability at times, but their inner lives are poorly developed, much like their sudden relationships. I think it speaks volumes that I liked Lucas/Max more as a couple when they're broken up and he still wants to be there for her, than when they were first put together and had no initial chemistry or buildup to their relationship (on top of randomly making her high maintenance just so they'd be on-again-off-again for random ~drama~)so it felt forced
@@michelerich1590 they didn't go into specifics because their plot line as a couple was so half-baked, but in season 3, its aluded to that they're always ''on-again-off-again' with no real explanation for why Lucas either fucks up or mildly pisses her off, just that he buys her a present and suddenly all is forgiven. I truly hated how it cheapened her/them and made zero sense with her coming from a broken, lower class home. It was unnecessary and that time could have been better spent on showcasing her and Billy's complicated dynamic, or at the very least hinting at what brought Lumax together in the first place since they were so randomly put together that they didn't make sense at first. Or alternatively, though it would take a lot more time, since it's said that Billy learns his violence from his dad, if we had seen that maybe gifts and grand gestures are what always brought Max's mom back to her toxic bfs, and how that's what Max had learned was acceptable relationship behavior, that would have made a tad more sense than making her seem shallow or a budding gold digger

I feel like everyone just forgets about all mike did for will in season 1 and 2. It doesn’t excuse his recent actions, but his only priority those two seasons were finding and saving will. I think he’s better than where he was placed. He had some fresh teen drama in season 3 that was stupid, I think he’s definitely growing and learning in season 4. I’m excited to see what happens with will and him in v2

Mike is so good in s2 and s1 that those two seasons are enough to make Mike my favourite character, he alright in S3, he's the worst in S4 though, but he is still hanging on to my favourite character title.

@KenyaGirly I think it is a bit more complicated than that. I think Steve is a very easy and versatile character for them to use. Steve has a relationship with lots of characters (and develops new ones easily because of his charm) which makes him easy to pair up. Steve is also great for comic relief and the only jock/athletic character which gives him a unique perspective and functionality. Jonathan is much harder to utilize (but not a bad character). He is introverted, so relationships form less easy and he is relatively passive/cautious and easy to overshadow without a goal. Is unique skill is photography which is a lot harder to utilize. In season one and two he has clear goals (s1: save will, s2 help Nancy/save will) and that's when he is best. He is not the kind of character that would seek out the danger or mystery like Nancy/Dustin or to whom the danger comes after like eleven). So when it does not affect him (like wills problems did) it is easy to kind of let him just passivly tag along (like in s3 with nancy). l iked his chemistry with argyle, but I think they just generally struggled with the California road trip story line. I think it's similar with will, especially because his personality (unlike the rest of the kids) does not really demand attention (being the quiet traumatized one). I hope they give Jonathan and Will a good brother story line in season 5.
I love Lucas and Max’s relationship. Max really stood out the most in a good way for me in season 4. I Want to see more of Lucas in volume 2 with his iconic sling shot as well.
Writers did mike dirty he was the face in season 1 the most caring friend for both el and will and always keeping his other friends together ..in season 2 he helped Will alot and his reunion with el was my fav scene ,season 3 onwards they ignored him they kept him away from all the main missions since they wanted dustin to connect the dots which earlier mike did too ....i hope he gets better light in part 2 and season 5 🥺
ex fcking actly. mike wheeler carried the show season 1&2, but season 3 came along and it’s like the duffers said fck mike let’s only make the viewers like specific characters. it’s laughable when people hate on him like he wasn’t once better then their favs😂🙄.
Max has the strongest story arch so far, I'll fight about it. She has also helped solve problem and taken action to help the team. She could just hate Billy but chooses to care for him. Of all the characters we know the most about her and her family. So some of it is she has been given the most written and explained backstory but it is also the best back story. She overcame the monster, even though she had help she made it happen.
She was pretty boring until her brother died. Anyone who says she's a better character than Dustin simply has recency bias. That's why all you guys talk about is her development.......... in season 4.
these people: *rates barb (you know nancy's best friend who she misses so much who was just looking out for nancy) lower than dr. brenner (the man who literally kidnapped kids from their parents as young children or even newborns to experiment on their powers)
To me, Will Byers is always gonna be the best character in ST. Despite not being in the first season much, his character still narratively carries the first season. The opening scene of the show makes you care for him deeply, in just a few minutes, so you ultimately care what happens to him and that he is rescued. S2, he carries the entire plot, which is why s2 is the best in my opinion. And wow, is Noah one hell of an actor. Even though Will is in the background a lot of s3 and s4, he’s still intrinsically woven into the narrative, especially due to his and Mike’s relationship. I think they intentionally put Will in the background to make people forget about his character, because he’s ultimately the main character that’s going to resolve everything in s5, otherwise he wouldn’t be the focus of the final season like the Duffers have said he is. I love his character depth, how selfless and loving he is, and I think he makes a perfect narrative foil to Vecna. I cant wait to see how the story is tied together with Will at the center for the final season. I know it’ll be great!
Even though 8 not well liked I hope her story isn't completely abandoned. She had cool powers and an interesting backstory, I think they can expand upon her story and character.
Yeah she's not a bad character, just poorly developed. I almost think she should have gotten 2-3 episodes as a spinoff to better explain 1) how she escaped and 2) how she found the other kids, while we wait for the next season. People write her off just because the writers didn't give her the same care the mains get
My boy Jonathan never gets enough praise. Such a shame. And why do people keep bringing up that photograph scene in s1? He was taking photos of everything and said he was sorry when he was alone with Nancy. Also he is such a good brother to Will...

I feel like Jonathan and Mike is underappreciated imo, Jonathan is one of the reason why we saw Nancy the way she was because he's the one who helped her and he's one the few people who actually appreciate and understand who Will is. I understand that he's actually been waisted in season 3 and 4, but I do feel like he should have been higher. For Mike, yes I know he's been the most annoying kid out of the 4 or 5 (including Max) but let's not just forget that he's the reason Eleven felt like she was important and needed. He's also the reason why they find a way in Season 2 problem, from realizing Will's the spy, the whole trapping Will in "unknown" place and he also the person who actually helped Will every time (as we saw in season 2) he's having an "episode". I agreed that Mike's been VERY annoying in season 3 and 4 but he also have a reason that's kind of true. Like being matured/maturing or growing up, but what's made the viewer annoyed is the fact that he said that to wrong person, the one who never experience childhood like they did. In season 4 he did the exact same to Will and had been a whole a**hole teenager. But like I said, he also have a point which is why I don't hate Mike that much and let's be honest, we all made or said something that hurt our friend and didn't even realize we are being the same a**hole as Mike. Overall I hope these 2 characters get higher ranking because of how they did, and didn't you guys mention that Nancy is an "OG" so you have to put it in THE BEST OF THE BEST and it'll be disrespectful if you didn't, you should do the same to these 2. They're definitely better than other characters you put in GOOD and BETTER. They just not in the spotlight this last 2 season. ( if you read this, thank you for wasting your time to read my opinion :D )
Idk why you guys hate season 2, but its my fav season. The voice line of Scott Clarke about defense mechanism and shot of Will still give me chills. Episode 8 is just fire. The first appearance of Mind flayer was chilling and Demodogs were great too.
what a crap ranking, argyle and barb (as much as I don't like her) are certainly not worse than billy who was racist and abusive, and brenner who kidnapped children and turned them into lab rats. also eleven deserves to have a higher ranking considering she has continuously saved all the characters you put above her and without her there would have been no stranger things
Will is my favourite character because he’s always a “question mark” character. Every season there’s something new, he never gets old like Mike or Lucas. Not saying they are bad characters, but Will is always in danger or has another issue and he doesn’t realize that he’s the heart of the group. He’s the one that keeps the gang together, not Mike.
umm… when mike says the phone works both ways to will, he’s exactly right, if will wanted to talk to him so bad he could’ve reached out, mike definitely isn’t the best character but he gets so much hate that’s honestly overboard and most of the time undeserving
I'd like to see how a fight between vecna and the demagorgon would go. I'd lean towards vecna winning, but both were tough for eleven to fight and both can take on a similar amount of men in a fight. Demagorgon is physically much stronger but vecna has telekinesis advantages. Dustin however did say that if the demagorgan was the mind flayers foot soldier , vecna was his 5 star general
This season was also awesome and I have to agree with Chris that Dustin is my favourite of the original kids. It's so hard to rank the characters but Dustin, Hopper, Steven, Eleven, and Max are PROBABLY my favourites now!
I think Jason is really great. He has had his life turn around and is on the brink of insanity. It's believeable and sad to see this outsider have a reaction like his. Not everyone is gonna handle the supernatural well. He handled it realistically and his actor was phenomenal. Like I feel so bad for this guy and he is an antagonist I want more of.
i respect your opinion but i have to disagree. he speaks like a politician. the way he brought up the names of the people who died in season 3 to get people pumped for a basketball game…that’s beyond disrespectful to them. the way he knows eddie didn’t kill chrissy bc he sees when patrick dies, but still continues to target him. he just has hatred for eddie and hellfire and refuses to even think it could be anyone else. he got entirely too much screen time this season. the california crew deserved that screen time. i loved this season, but the fact that the jock group got so much screen time is my biggest complaint. i honestly feel he’s not a good character at all, and i wouldn’t care if he died…which i think he will in volume 2.

Hoping and praying Caleb gets more to do with Lucas because he hasn’t had a real storyline at all this season and he’s a main character which is wild. Him and Erica should be shown more.
Everyone literally every party member is in the best of best how did mike deserve to be just good i think no one remembers he saved eleven he let her live in his basement jumped off a cliff for dustin wanted to do everything he could to save will like wow characters like billy can be great but him? mike can make good quick decisions, dustin is the observant one, lucas keeps the team grounded with their wild theories by procrastinating and will is like the consience of the four.
I understand some characters are smaller like Jason but just because they can’t be developed as much because they’re smaller doesn’t mean their pointless and a waste of space. Someone had to play his role to push the story along and lead to the police taking the kids.
I acknowledge Will does not get the love he deserves after everything he’s had to live through. However, I could not think of a more “meh” character than him. He’s like that friend you’re not close to and just say hi to whenever you see them.
Mike can be a bad friend but in season he jumped off a cliff for the best character Dustin and Dustin is definitely a better character because he has some of the best moments in the show in my opinion
No definitely not, Max most absolutely has a better character development. I love Dustin but Max has a better character development. Dustin has been the same but just matured and has been a really great leader. But Max has had a way better development
My favourite season 4 moment was 001 and 011s escape plan and the final moment of volume 1. My top 5 characters are Hopper Eleven Steve Robin (or Erica) Eddie

@KenyaGirly No, but I do like Steve a lot. Dustin has been my favorite character since season 1 and has continued to be my favorite since then. He's got lots of good scenes with Steve, but he's also got a lot of good scenes without him. They make a great duo, but I just like Dustin more.
I honestly could care less about Steve and Dustin. I think they're great, and bring a lot to the table, but a bit overrated. Sure they have great chemistry, but I get bigger laughs from characters like Murray, and Erica. I also feel like Barb and Kali are being hated for petty reasons. Barb is one of my favourite non-main characters. Not Great tier worthy, but at least Good. She really is being dragged around by Nancy for most of her screen time, and Barb is overall just trying to be a good friend. She doesn't want to go to Steve's, but goes anyway because Nancy asks her to. She gets pressured by Nancy to drink, and ends up cutting herself, and if Nancy had left with her, she may not have died. Kali is probably hated because of her ties to The Lost Sister episode which is honestly a great episode, but for some reason people don't like it (I am yet to find a legitimate reason why it's a bad episode). Kali really is just a lost sister. She's an outsider, and you can tell she honestly cares for Eleven, how she gives her a place to live, lets her into her family without hesitation, trains her without needing to be asked, and no matter how much she says Eleven can leave, Kali obviously hopes Eleven will stay. As seen by Kali when Eleven leaves, you just see the giant hole Eleven left. That storyline feels unfinished, and I don't care what people say, I hope Kali returns for Season 5. Aside from 001, and 011 she's the only other number who's confirmed to have survived the massacre at Hawkin's Lab. There's unfinished business there, and I want to know how Kali will react to Dr. Brenner being alive.
@@joeyrie3590 she’s a killer who murders people who got forced to traumatise children. Sure those people were bad, but you don’t have to kill them. She stole for her own goods and made people think they were insane. El is one of the best and nicest, but did she kill them? No.
Barb was great but she had almost no screen time, just like Fred ,Patrick and Chrissy. This is a flaw, where the creators kill of characters that had so much potential to the future of the series.
I think great is perfect for mike he should definitely be putter above Will, like mike in s1 and 2 was better than will, season 3 none and season 4 nine
I feel like if steve dies the group will be very vulnerable. they do have Hopper when and if he gets back from Russia, but Steve has the protective qualities of a boyfriend (nancy), wonderful friend (robin and eddie) and that of a loving mother or father (Dustin, Lucas, Max, etc.) we saw this when max was in vecnas trance. hes skilled with weapons, and his fists, despite what is fights say. (I think those were more symbolic of his character growth than his fighting skills). I digress. Once Steve Harrington is in danger, the whole group is in even more danger. (At least until Hop returns.) (Also I'm a day 1 steve fan as well, ever since I learned how similar to a ninja he was)
Max is definitely a better character than Dustin IMO. Dustin is awesome, and still worthy of S Tier, but he’s been the exact same character with the same writing for 4 seasons. Max came into the show late, but she’s gone through so much and Sadie plays the role INCREDIBLY well (like, seriously give that girl an Emmy for ‘Dear Billy’) so I’d comfortably rate her as a better character than Dustin. She’s amazing.
Okay but Eleven behind Nancy, Lucas and Joyce?? Hardly disagree, and Mike should be way higher, its true that his character has gone downhill in season 3 & 4 but that could never erase the fact that he was one of the best in season 1 & 2
The Stranger Things writers are so good at introducing new characters and have them interact with characters that we all ready know, and making us fall in love with them.
Just wanted to comment about the tiny comment made that Will could do better than Mike. But rewatching season 2, Mike was always there for Will, he was there with Joyce and Johnathan when they were telling will how important and how much they loved Will to get Will to come back. Man, I'd be in love with Mike too if he did that for me. He was just a friend, but he did more for Will than Johnathan or Joyce could do and it makes total sense for Will to be in love with Mike for that and when he was like 'what about us?' and Mike was confused and like 'Eleven's my girlfriend' it hurt cause yeah...Mike you saved his life and told Will that he was extremely important to you and now you don't care cause you have a girlfriend? Ohh Will's story makes me cry...that's why I was hoping for so long that he's not gay and not in love with Mike because that's so tragic and I just want happiness for my boy, but that hasn't happened in any season so far. edit: sorry I accidentally typed 'y' instead of 't' and this was unreadable lololol

I feel like I am the only person who likes Mike sometimes. He may not be particularly great at expressing his feelings but honestly he's done so much good. He was the driving force behind the hunt for Will and honestly most of season 1. In season 2 he stuck by Will the entire time, checking up on him and listening to everything he said. Mike encouraged Will and helped during the "interogation". In season 3 he may not have been super respectful to Hopper, but he's still a teenager and also probably hadn't fully forgiven Hop for hiding El from him that whole time. Despite all of that, even after she broke up with him, Mike was always in El's corner. He came to terms with her befriending Max and making decisions for herself but still advocated for her safety and well being. He attacked Billy at the sauna knowing he was possessed by the Mind Flayer because saving El was more improtant to him. And this season he is STILL coming to El's aid whenever she needs him. He may not be saying 'I love you' but he never actually told her that in season 3 either. He hasn't said it to her yet. He's brushing Will off, which I completely hate, but even they are working that out slowly over the season. Mike cares so much about the people he loves. Maybe he doesn't always say the right things, but his actions show his intent. He was literally willing to throw himself off a cliff for Dustin in season 1. He's made some mistakes, but honestly I am pretty sure every single character has screwed up at some point in the show. I dunno, I just wish people would remember how willing he is to protect his friends and be there when they need him.

Steve is absolutely the best character in this show. Hopper is right behind. They have been my fav characters ever since season 2.

I remember being so surprised when my friends told me Steve was going to be my favorite. I fell in love with him so quickly in S2!

To be fair Nancy was the one who was rude to Barb. Barb was telling her not to drink and Nancy ignored pressuring Barb to shotgun. And in the end Nancy abandoned her friend by the pool where she was killed. You see it even in season 4 when Vecna goes in Nancy's mind he shows Barbs death as one of the bad memories and regret Nancy had.
I think it was honestly a realistic lapse in judgment within their friendship for both Nancy and Barb. they are kids and were trying to adapt to high school.

Exactly. Dustin and Lucas can have a lot of likability at times, but their inner lives are poorly developed, much like their sudden relationships. I think it speaks volumes that I liked Lucas/Max more as a couple when they're broken up and he still wants to be there for her, than when they were first put together and had no initial chemistry or buildup to their relationship (on top of randomly making her high maintenance just so they'd be on-again-off-again for random ~drama~)so it felt forced

@@michelerich1590 they didn't go into specifics because their plot line as a couple was so half-baked, but in season 3, its aluded to that they're always ''on-again-off-again' with no real explanation for why Lucas either fucks up or mildly pisses her off, just that he buys her a present and suddenly all is forgiven. I truly hated how it cheapened her/them and made zero sense with her coming from a broken, lower class home. It was unnecessary and that time could have been better spent on showcasing her and Billy's complicated dynamic, or at the very least hinting at what brought Lumax together in the first place since they were so randomly put together that they didn't make sense at first. Or alternatively, though it would take a lot more time, since it's said that Billy learns his violence from his dad, if we had seen that maybe gifts and grand gestures are what always brought Max's mom back to her toxic bfs, and how that's what Max had learned was acceptable relationship behavior, that would have made a tad more sense than making her seem shallow or a budding gold digger

I feel like everyone just forgets about all mike did for will in season 1 and 2. It doesn’t excuse his recent actions, but his only priority those two seasons were finding and saving will. I think he’s better than where he was placed.

@KenyaGirly I think it is a bit more complicated than that. I think Steve is a very easy and versatile character for them to use. Steve has a relationship with lots of characters (and develops new ones easily because of his charm) which makes him easy to pair up. Steve is also great for comic relief and the only jock/athletic character which gives him a unique perspective and functionality.
Jonathan is much harder to utilize (but not a bad character). He is introverted, so relationships form less easy and he is relatively passive/cautious and easy to overshadow without a goal. Is unique skill is photography which is a lot harder to utilize. In season one and two he has clear goals (s1: save will, s2 help Nancy/save will) and that's when he is best. He is not the kind of character that would seek out the danger or mystery like Nancy/Dustin or to whom the danger comes after like eleven). So when it does not affect him (like wills problems did) it is easy to kind of let him just passivly tag along (like in s3 with nancy). l iked his chemistry with argyle, but I think they just generally struggled with the California road trip story line. I think it's similar with will, especially because his personality (unlike the rest of the kids) does not really demand attention (being the quiet traumatized one). I hope they give Jonathan and Will a good brother story line in season 5.
I love Lucas and Max’s relationship. Max really stood out the most in a good way for me in season 4. I Want to see more of Lucas in volume 2 with his iconic sling shot as well.
He already got his amazing moments in volume 2. I really love caleb as an actor. I doubted his acting skills but he was so wonderful

Writers did mike dirty he was the face in season 1 the most caring friend for both el and will and always keeping his other friends together ..in season 2 he helped Will alot and his reunion with el was my fav scene ,season 3 onwards they ignored him they kept him away from all the main missions since they wanted dustin to connect the dots which earlier mike did too ....i hope he gets better light in part 2 and season 5 🥺

Max has the strongest story arch so far, I'll fight about it. She has also helped solve problem and taken action to help the team. She could just hate Billy but chooses to care for him. Of all the characters we know the most about her and her family. So some of it is she has been given the most written and explained backstory but it is also the best back story. She overcame the monster, even though she had help she made it happen.
Still not better than Dustin.

Mike getting underrated people forget he was one of the best if not the best in both season 1 and 2
these people: *rates barb (you know nancy's best friend who she misses so much who was just looking out for nancy) lower than dr. brenner (the man who literally kidnapped kids from their parents as young children or even newborns to experiment on their powers)
To me, Will Byers is always gonna be the best character in ST. Despite not being in the first season much, his character still narratively carries the first season. The opening scene of the show makes you care for him deeply, in just a few minutes, so you ultimately care what happens to him and that he is rescued. S2, he carries the entire plot, which is why s2 is the best in my opinion. And wow, is Noah one hell of an actor. Even though Will is in the background a lot of s3 and s4, he’s still intrinsically woven into the narrative, especially due to his and Mike’s relationship. I think they intentionally put Will in the background to make people forget about his character, because he’s ultimately the main character that’s going to resolve everything in s5, otherwise he wouldn’t be the focus of the final season like the Duffers have said he is. I love his character depth, how selfless and loving he is, and I think he makes a perfect narrative foil to Vecna. I cant wait to see how the story is tied together with Will at the center for the final season. I know it’ll be great!
Even though 8 not well liked I hope her story isn't completely abandoned. She had cool powers and an interesting backstory, I think they can expand upon her story and character.

I feel like Jonathan and Mike is underappreciated imo, Jonathan is one of the reason why we saw Nancy the way she was because he's the one who helped her and he's one the few people who actually appreciate and understand who Will is. I understand that he's actually been waisted in season 3 and 4, but I do feel like he should have been higher. For Mike, yes I know he's been the most annoying kid out of the 4 or 5 (including Max) but let's not just forget that he's the reason Eleven felt like she was important and needed. He's also the reason why they find a way in Season 2 problem, from realizing Will's the spy, the whole trapping Will in "unknown" place and he also the person who actually helped Will every time (as we saw in season 2) he's having an "episode". I agreed that Mike's been VERY annoying in season 3 and 4 but he also have a reason that's kind of true. Like being matured/maturing or growing up, but what's made the viewer annoyed is the fact that he said that to wrong person, the one who never experience childhood like they did. In season 4 he did the exact same to Will and had been a whole a**hole teenager. But like I said, he also have a point which is why I don't hate Mike that much and let's be honest, we all made or said something that hurt our friend and didn't even realize we are being the same a**hole as Mike.
Overall I hope these 2 characters get higher ranking because of how they did, and didn't you guys mention that Nancy is an "OG" so you have to put it in THE BEST OF THE BEST and it'll be disrespectful if you didn't, you should do the same to these 2. They're definitely better than other characters you put in GOOD and BETTER. They just not in the spotlight this last 2 season.

Idk why you guys hate season 2, but its my fav season. The voice line of Scott Clarke about defense mechanism and shot of Will still give me chills. Episode 8 is just fire. The first appearance of Mind flayer was chilling and Demodogs were great too.

Will is my favourite character because he’s always a “question mark” character. Every season there’s something new, he never gets old like Mike or Lucas. I'd lean towards vecna winning, but both were tough for eleven to fight and both can take on a similar amount of men in a fight.
Demagorgon is physically much stronger but vecna has telekinesis advantages. Dustin however did say that if the demagorgan was the mind flayers foot soldier , vecna was his 5 star general
A foot soldier is always stranger than a 5 star general but 5 star general is superior die to his/her role.
This season was also awesome and I have to agree with Chris that Dustin is my favourite of the original kids. It's so hard to rank the characters but Dustin, Hopper, Steven, Eleven, and Max are PROBABLY my favourites now!

I think Jason is really great. He has had his life turn around and is on the brink of insanity. It's believeable and sad to see this outsider have a reaction like his. Not everyone is gonna handle the supernatural well. He handled it realistically and his actor was phenomenal. Like I feel so bad for this guy and he is an antagonist I want more of.
I mean first his girlfriend dies and then his teammate which would throw anyone to the edge

i respect your opinion but i have to disagree. he speaks like a politician. the way he brought up the names of the people who died in season 3 to get people pumped for a basketball game…that’s beyond disrespectful to them. the way he knows eddie didn’t kill chrissy bc he sees when patrick dies, but still continues to target him. he just has hatred for eddie and hellfire and refuses to even think it could be anyone else. he got entirely too much screen time this season. the california crew deserved that screen time. i loved this season, but the fact that the jock group got so much screen time is my biggest complaint. i honestly feel he’s not a good character at all, and i wouldn’t care if he died…which i think he will in volume 2.

I honestly could care less about Steve and Dustin. I think they're great, and bring a lot to the table, but a bit overrated. Sure they have great chemistry, but I get bigger laughs from characters like Murray, and Erica.
I also feel like Barb and Kali are being hated for petty reasons.
Barb is one of my favourite non-main characters. Not Great tier worthy, but at least Good. She really is being dragged around by Nancy for most of her screen time, and Barb is overall just trying to be a good friend. She doesn't want to go to Steve's, but goes anyway because Nancy asks her to. She gets pressured by Nancy to drink, and ends up cutting herself, and if Nancy had left with her, she may not have died.
Kali is probably hated because of her ties to The Lost Sister episode which is honestly a great episode, but for some reason people don't like it (I am yet to find a legitimate reason why it's a bad episode). Kali really is just a lost sister. She's an outsider, and you can tell she honestly cares for Eleven, how she gives her a place to live, lets her into her family without hesitation, trains her without needing to be asked, and no matter how much she says Eleven can leave, Kali obviously hopes Eleven will stay. As seen by Kali when Eleven leaves, you just see the giant hole Eleven left.
That storyline feels unfinished, and I don't care what people say, I hope Kali returns for Season 5. Aside from 001, and 011 she's the only other number who's confirmed to have survived the massacre at Hawkin's Lab. There's unfinished business there, and I want to know how Kali will react to Dr. Brenner being alive.

I feel like if steve dies the group will be very vulnerable. they do have Hopper when and if he gets back from Russia, but Steve has the protective qualities of a boyfriend (nancy), wonderful friend (robin and eddie) and that of a loving mother or father (Dustin, Lucas, Max, etc.) we saw this when max was in vecnas trance. hes skilled with weapons, and his fists, despite what is fights say. (I think those were more symbolic of his character growth than his fighting skills).
I digress. Once Steve Harrington is in danger, the whole group is in even more danger. (At least until Hop returns.)

Max came into the show late, but she’s gone through so much and Sadie plays the role INCREDIBLY well (like, seriously give that girl an Emmy for ‘Dear Billy’) so I’d comfortably rate her as a better character than Dustin. She’s amazing.

I personally think the show improved once they killed Billy
All the original kids including eleven, Joyce, and Hopper should be the best of the best. Also, Mike has the most Iconic line in the series

Just wanted to comment about the tiny comment made that Will could do better than Mike. But rewatching season 2, Mike was always there for Will, he was there with Joyce and Johnathan when they were telling will how important and how much they loved Will to get Will to come back. Man, I'd be in love with Mike too if he did that for me. He was just a friend, but he did more for Will than Johnathan or Joyce could do and it makes total sense for Will to be in love with Mike for that and when he was like 'what about us?' and Mike was confused and like 'Eleven's my girlfriend' it hurt cause yeah...Mike you saved his life and told Will that he was extremely important to you and now you don't care cause you have a girlfriend?
Ohh Will's story makes me cry...that's why I was hoping for so long that he's not gay and not in love with Mike because that's so tragic and I just want happiness for my boy, but that hasn't happened in any season so far.

I feel like I am the only person who likes Mike sometimes. He may not be particularly great at expressing his feelings but honestly he's done so much good. He was the driving force behind the hunt for Will and honestly most of season 1. In season 2 he stuck by Will the entire time, checking up on him and listening to everything he said. Mike encouraged Will and helped during the "interogation". In season 3 he may not have been super respectful to Hopper, but he's still a teenager and also probably hadn't fully forgiven Hop for hiding El from him that whole time. Despite all of that, even after she broke up with him, Mike was always in El's corner. He came to terms with her befriending Max and making decisions for herself but still advocated for her safety and well being. He attacked Billy at the sauna knowing he was possessed by the Mind Flayer because saving El was more improtant to him. And this season he is STILL coming to El's aid whenever she needs him. He may not be saying 'I love you' but he never actually told her that in season 3 either. He hasn't said it to her yet. He's brushing Will off, which I completely hate, but even they are working that out slowly over the season. Mike cares so much about the people he loves. Maybe he doesn't always say the right things, but his actions show his intent. He was literally willing to throw himself off a cliff for Dustin in season 1. He's made some mistakes, but honestly I am pretty sure every single character has screwed up at some point in the show. I dunno, I just wish people would remember how willing he is to protect his friends and be there when they need him.

Barb was only trying to protect Nancy from being hurt, Steve really was a sh1tty person in season one and you could see that Barb really cared for her and loved her, Barb deserved better and she was right bc Nancy got hurt in the end anyways
