- Looking for used OEM parts for your C3 or C4 Corvette? If you are, I made this video for you!
Wally Dye, the owner of Corvette Generation, the largest C3 & C4 Corvette salvage yard in Florida, shares the story of how he started a business to help owners of Corvettes ranging from 1968 through 1996, keep their cars on the road thanks to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer - aka Factory) parts.
This was an impromptu interview.
I stopped by Corvette Generation to pick up a couple of parts for my 81 and I took the opportunity to shoot a few short videos.
Before we left, we were hanging out in the office and Wally started sharing stories about his business, so I pinned a microphone on him resulting in this video about one of the largest (and very few) C3 & C4 Corvette salvage yards in the world.
What started as Sunshine Corvettes almost two decades ago, has become Corvette Generation in Dade City, Florida, and their inventory is pretty impressive and a must for those looking to bring their C3 or C4 up to NCRS or factory specs.
Many viewers in the past have criticized Corvette Generation because of the poor condition of some of the cars there, but as a reminder, that is the condition these cars were in BEFORE they made the salvage yard their final resting place.
Wally and his team take them apart and store good resalable parts while the car frames and bodies wait until a customer comes along looking for a fender, a front or rear clip, doors, a hood, a wiring harness, and so on.
The parts that are "rescued" from these Corvettes eventually get a new lease on life thanks to caring enthusiasts, mechanics, and restorers who prefer to use original (OEM) parts.
Corvette Generation ships parts nationwide and to other countries, but check with them before ordering.
If you need to contact them, Corvette Generation is at 16541 US Hwy 301, Dade City, FL 33523.
Their phone number is (352) 523-0900 or you can email them at parts@corvettegeneration.com
Also, Corvette Generation is NOT a "Pick and Pull" or "You Pull It" type of salvage yard. You can certainly pick up your purchase in person but don't expect to show up and get a tour of the place. That is not going to happen for several reasons, including safety.
Thank you for watching! 🙂👍🏻

There's a guy in PA that has more corvettes than you can imagine. Very nice guy and very fair prices. I bought a very nice frame from him for a very reasonable price. I also bought a front clip from him.
Where is guy? Got a # for him??
@@chrismusso1610 he's is middlebury twp. Pa. His name is Gee.
Hey there, I have one question. I bought 74 corvette big block 270 hp without rear bumper, and I'm thinking about putting chrome bumpers from 68-72 on my corvette. Will those bumpers fit without any cutting or is there any work necessary to do to make them fit. Thanks for answer.
It’s a different tail and will not be a direct fit. There are a couple of companies that offer kits but installation will require a considerable amount of work. Personally I would not do it but it’s your car so do what works for you.
Also check the Corvette Forum as several years ago someone was modifying the tail of a rubber bumper to do what you’re planning. Good luck!
@@76vette I noticed the rear frame sticks out a bit more than on pre facelift corvettes that's why I was concerned about it. How much more expensive will that be, since I'm just 23 y.o. and money isn't something I have tons of.. but I really do like pre facelift version with the chrome and I want it to look perfect.. I'm also planning to buy 5 speed manual instead of 3 speed automatic.
@@patrik-4163 I suggest you talk to a shop that can do that mod for you and find out how much they’ll charge for it. I am not qualified to give estimates. Sorry.
@@76vette thank you anyways, I'll stick around
I'd call Wally and ask him his opinion, it sounds like major surgery. I think it would be easier to trade for a 72 or73. Good luck!!
Wally sold me a 78 front spoiler for my 76...he told me it was in real good condition......fair price and he shipped it to Mass....Good to know he's there if you need parts! Thanks for suggesting him to me Luis....It really made the front of my vette complete!
Wally is a great guy and we’re lucky to have him providing good C3 and C4 used OEM Corvette parts to the community. Glad to hear you’re happy with your front spoiler. 😊👍🏻
How much did he sell you the spoiler for? Trying to look for a used one but don’t know a fair price
Looks like corvette heaven to me.I finally got my dream corvette, but like a gorgeous woman, always looking!
WoW, I know mid America from VW parts. There use to be a huge classic VW salvage yard till the city crushed them all. Hope this doesn't happen to this place. I think the gentleman name was scooter I believe.
Salvage yards like Corvette Generation are crucial to the car hobby. It seems that at least half of new aftermarket parts fail, some of them right out of the box. American parts are the best, and they can be refurbished or restored.
@@76vette I agree. My end goal of my C4 is NCRS certified. Most of all enjoy the car while we still.can. Thank you again for all you do for the C3 community. Thank you again for replying back to everyone.
@@Volkswagenplanet Thank you for watching my videos 😊👍🏻
I bought a very hard to find item from generations. The 81 blinker switch with the cruise control. No one makes it. Generations has always treated my with respect and are genuinely fair in pricing. As a fact getting with them Monday for a L-82 hood for a 81 I'm building.
I have a question for you i am 6'3 tall can I get in corvettes 79
I was going to ask if you every dealt with this company, and if they were still in business. Im going to contact them. I need a OEM starter with the GM stickers still on it. My C4 is all original except the starter. Thanks for posting this great business. Take care, stay safe. Happy Holidays.
Thank you, and Happy Holidays to you as well. 😊👍🏻🎄🎅🏼
When you were there did you happen to see a rear window storage tray for a 69? I know, just call and ask. I will on Monday. Retired from the court system? Which side? Just kidding. If you’re gonna work on cars, Corvettes should be the first choice!
Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
Good to know they do service. I am looking at, and really thinking about a C4. Very nice 87.
I know it's not super close as I am in Marion County. Just looking for people who are experienced in these cars.
Just a skip and a jump from Marion county down I-75 😊👍🏻
Awesome place! Thanks for sharing it with us! I'm sure they will have some part's I will be needing in the future!👍
Wally‘s a good guy. There’s nothing better than OEM stuff. Worth rebuilding in most cases. Thank you for watching! 😊👍🏻
@@76vette My daughter lives in St.Petersburg, next time I'm down there I'm going to have to make a trip and check it out and hopefully get a few things I need while I'm there!👍
Nice segment, good idea having Wally narate it.
Thanks. Wally did an awesome job telling the story. 😊👍🏻
