@@Shubheez Climate is a big difference! They also get hammered by typhoons there where we don't so much here (at least not inland). I haven't spent a lot of time in rural Kyushu or deep Western Japan, so I can't speak to the culture so much..
What a stunningly put together video this was, just beauty from start to finish, made me yearn to be there in person so much! I'm having a busy day today so was going to watch this video whilst getting on with some chores, but I had to drop everything to watch it as it was just so stunning. Will be watching it again more times for sure and I will share it with anyone I know who even says they are thinking of visiting Japan.
Oh, love this style of video. Very soothing, perfect for bedtime 😁 And it's lovely to get a "year in the life" of one place - it's so cool to see how well you know these places, in all their guises.
Nice! I may try more of these! Normally I speak off the cuff, so I can't necessarily compose my thoughts that well when I'm out in the wilds walking around. So composing something at home and making a narrated video might be something I do more of in the future!
Was great to meet you on the trails in Moomin Valley Quinlan, wouldn't have appreciated these beautiful areas as much without your videos and guidance. Will head back to north Japan again in the future!
Glad to here that! Yeah- Akita Komagatake is such a stunning area throughout the year. Love love love it! Hope you do get back up here before too long!
Fantastic video once again! Maybe one of my favorites from your channel. The Tohoku region has definitely become one of my favorite places to visit in Japan because of your videos. Thanks for shedding light on these amazing views and places!
Such gorgeous and amazing scenery! The shots reminded me of National Geographic level filmography. I hope to be able to visit in a few years, thank you for keeping the dream alive! 😎
I'm a Japanese living abroad and originally from Kyushu. I've never been in Tohoku region but GoNorth Japan has reminded me the gorgeous beauty there. Definitely I'm visiting Hachimantai once I come back to Japan!
Luckily I live in Akita prefecture and have the luxury of visiting many parts of this National Park, so I try to introduce this beautiful area to my friends whenever there's chance. Hands down to you Sir, you do a really great job presenting this area to people around the world. Thanks for your great work and really hope to run into you somewhere on the hike :D
Unbelievable camera footage. I always love the laid back and relaxed attitude of your channel, you're like the Bob Ross of Japan vlogs. :P Keep up the great work Quinlan.
Thanks! This was kind of a different style of video than I've made before. I just used footage that I've already taken over the last 4 years or so, and just recorded some narration and edited it together... Glad you enjoyed it!
I realy wanted to go to Towada ski-jo in 2019 for snowbording but couldn't get accom close to the resort, so ended going to Geto Kogan. Next trip I'll look harder to accom for Towada.
I did spend the whole of my 3 week vacation in Tohoku, including a couple of outings with Quinlan to Hachimantai and Sanriku National Parks. It was wonderful. Beautiful landscapes, cultural and historical gems. The people are generally reserved, but you will find them to be mostly friendly and gracious.
@DavePerry-n3r I know! I loved Morioka and the people I met (super friendly). I went winter hiking up Nyuto with Quinlan 2 years ago and explored some parts of Akita plus a section of the MCT by myself. My current plan is to visit Tottori, Shimane, Yamaguchi, and Niigata/Sado Island, though.
We’ve tried reaching out via email but haven't heard back regarding the coffee machine collab. Could you please check your inbox and get back to Hera? Thanks!
Great video with amazing views! 🤩 I'm planning on hiking both Mt. Moriyoshi and Akita-komagatake during the Golden Week holidays this year. Any tips? Keep up the good work!
Golden Week is a tough season for those two spots. They'll both still have a fair bit of snow, but the slippery, melting, hard-packed spring snow, and access to Akita Komagatake will be limited... But if that's why you have time off, then yeah! Going to be glorious either way! You might want to check out Mt. Nyuto as well! Can hike that from Magoroku Onsen during Golden Week.
Hi Quinlan, You must have one of the best jobs in Japan. To be out and about most days is such beauty makes me envious.I do live a short distance from the Highlands of Scotland, about 90 minutes, but it rains so much that it looks dull and miserable much of the time.
Ooooh! I would love to visit the Highlands of Scotland! That's high on my list! Weather is always a challenge, yeah.. I guess get really good rain gear?!
Bro your videos make me want to move permanently to Morioka NGL
Morioka is a great place to live...
@@GoNorthJapan just another question out of curiosity
What is the difference between northern rural Japan and Southern Rural Japan

Thanks so much! Really appreciate it as always!!
It just looks magical!
Tohoku is such a beautiful region. The Towada area is especially beautiful, and great work capturing its glory!
Thanks! It really is!
This is one of the best videos you have made. An amazing overview with stunning drone footage. Great work!
Thanks! Appreciate that!
Can't wait to come back here again
So many great trails to explore!

Hello neighbor! And thanks! Sure- it's inevitable we'll both be on the mountain some day with good weather!
Your drone photography is stunning as always ♥ Is Hachimantai open to tourists again? I thought you mentioned
it was closed for volcanic warnings?
The only part that's "closed" is Mt. Iwate. Other areas in the park are completely accessible as always!
