Richie Kotzen, the singer is a rabbit hole everyone should go down. From his work in Poison, to Mr. Big, to 40 Deuce, to Wilson Hawk, to his endless solo catalog. He plays all the insturments on most of his work, he goes from scred music, to blues, to fusion to philly blue eyed soul to even Motown. He is the most under rated artist there is.
Oh, also forgot his new band with the guitar player in Iron Maiden, Adrian Smith. They have a great new album out as Kotzen/Smith, blue based hard rock.
Richie Kotzen is bar none the best singer/guitarist going. VERY versatile. Listen to 50 for 50 for yourself. R&B, jazz, metal, blues, funk, rock, acoustic, angry, love, humor. He ALWAYS hits the note he wants on guitar or singing. He can play anything.
Kotzen's Best works with each group or solo work: Winery Dogs - Time Machine 40 Deuce - Oh My God Poison - Stand Mr. Big - Shine Wilson Hawke - Something in You Smith/Kotzen - Taking My Time. Vertu - On Top Of the Rain. Solo: Everythings Good, Devils Hand, Mother Heads Family Reunion, Woman and a Man, High, I can go on and on, dude just released his 50th album on his 50th birthday and it features 50 songs.
Billy Sheehan is a World Class Bass player. Look up his past playings and bands. I’m partial to Mr Big but he’s played with David Lee Roth. Billy is Legend 🤘
For those of you who don't know...these guys aren't only master players...but really down to earth dudes. Seen'em and hung with'em locally at shows. See ya at The Canyon Club 1/26 \m/
I saw "Winery Dogs" and "reaction" and couldn't click fast enough. 😄They are my favorite rock band, and Kotzen is the rock version of Prince. He has an eclectic catalogue with well over 20 solo albums and multiple albums with various groups he's either been in or helped create. His last solo album was 50 for 50 containing 50 tracks to celebrate his 50th birthday. On it are many great songs including some pretty funky ones, but the one I think you should listen to is "Confession." It's not an up-tempo song but delivers with Richie's powerful vocals and impressive range. Also, the guitar solo is a work of art.
Ritchie Kotzen - The Damned solo project in between tours is fantastic. Winery Dogs - Captain Love off of an earlier album will keep your toes tapping. Two other current bands worth checking out are Kaleo (orig from Iceland now in the states) videos filmed in a volcano and outside an erupting volcano and Greta Van Fleet first song Highway Tune they wrote at around age 12 and Heat Above released in 2021.
It’s funny you mention him playing with his hair. I saw in an interview where he mentioned that he doesn’t think he’s a dandy, just the wind on the hilltop was blowing the hair in his face throughout the whole video. He watched the video back and he was thinking the same thing, “why am I playing with my hair so much I look like an idiot.” Lol. Richie seems like a really down to earth guy, you owe it to yourself to go through his solo catalog. It’s incredible.
First time watching your reaction was to Go Rest High on that Mountain. I was going through your videos and stopped on this one because I thought this Xanadu was a cover. It wasn't. But it's ok. I don't know if you've reacted to BTS but you might like their music. They sing in Korean and English. Just a suggestion.
Billy Sheehan, probably the best bassplayer I have heard live with Mr Big in 1993. Now the winery dogs does excactly what you say - it kicks ass - you can add oblivion to your list as well from their previous album
This song clicks every single box. It rocks, it's complex yet has a killer hook, it's thick with feel, and it's played by 3 world class musicians. I've been a winery dogs fan for years and I had high expectations when this came out and it blew my conceived notions out of the water and left my jaw hanging. It exceeded every expectation when I heard it. This song and the reaction in this video made me subscribe to this channel.
Much respect for givin' my boys in the on your channel. They are really a "super group" in the rock circles. They all come from very established bands (Mike Portnoy drummed in Dream Theater, Ritchie Kotzen is an established solo artist, and Billy Sheehan got his break from David Lee Roth (post Van Halen), Mr. Big, Sons Of Apollo...and I'm a student of Billy's). Wanna check out more from this trio? Check out "Captain Love"...a straight-ahead rocker with a serious groove. You know what you're talkin' about. You've got a new subscriber.
Love this reaction video! Richie "The Frontman" Kotzen has 20+ solo albums where he plays all the instruments himself - guitar, bass, drums, piano etc - he also has a band with Adrian Smith, on of the guitarists from Iron Maiden & they have 2 albums out and then you have this band, The Winery Dogs with bassist Billy Sheehan aka The Jimi Hendrix of bass and drummer Mike Portnoy.
Cool reaction, not heard of them before, but they are wonderful and your shampoo comments made me laugh. Are you familiar with the group Skillet? If not, please check out Feel Invincible by Skillet.
Richie "Frontman" Kotzen was messing with his hair at the beginning as it was windy as hell that day up in the Malibu hills where this video was recorded.
Haha love the shampoo analogy..he actually mentions that in an interview I saw recently and he said he wasn't trying to be vain but that it was really windy up there in those Malibu mountains and he wanted his hair out of his eyes...well at least that's his reasoning..✌️😎
They are touring soon. Get your tickets. Their live show kicks so much ass, you'll fall in love instantly. Billy Sheehan (Bass) is lit AF and the best bass player in existence (opinion)!
Forgot about Vertu, a great fusion group he had with Stanley Clarke on bass and Lenny White on the skins along with a classical piano player and violinest whose names I cannot recall. All of Kotzen's bands are top notch along with his solo work.
Absolutely go dive in their catalog, you WONT be disappointed WD ROCK 3 amazing musicians

Paying Dues from Richies solo stuff is crazy good. You get to see him play all of the instruments.
Even to watch him, his wife and his daughter jamming together is great...
They guy is indeed the most underrated ever

Check out the song regret from the first winery dog record. ❤
Three of the most talented musicians on the planet doing what they do best!!
I've never heard of this group, but DAMN! They are amazing!
Kotzen's Best works with each group or solo work:
Winery Dogs - Time Machine
40 Deuce - Oh My God
Poison - Stand
Mr. Big - Shine
Wilson Hawke - Something in You
Smith/Kotzen - Taking My Time.
Vertu - On Top Of the Rain.

Check their “Oblivion”, “Spiral”, “I’m no angel” and “Captain Love”. Amazing job!
Ritchie Kotzen definitely has some R&B influence. His solo work also deserves a shot, but definitely more bangers w/The Winery Dogs.
Richies voice, 100% rock!!!
Oh, and the drummer is Mike Portnoy, cofounder of Dream Theater. That’s a banger. Playlist fo sho. TY. 🔥
The bass player is crushin it.
Billy Sheehan is a World Class Bass player. Look up his past playings and bands. I’m partial to Mr Big but he’s played with David Lee Roth. Billy is Legend 🤘

Idk about Kotzen being down to earth. LoL
@@solag827 Mike and Billy then...lol
Truly a super group! They have produced a lot of amazing music. They always sound bigger than a 3 piece group - even live.
Hottest trio around now. Amazing. And that bassist? Shivers...
Y’all gotta go listen to their first album! I’m a huge fan! They are so so talented!

@@DramaSydETV I'd love to submit a song to you someday. I dig a lot to find new cool music all the time. How would I go about recommending music?

Definitely check out their catalog!
Wondering if you or your father are preachers. Just a wonder.
No
excellent reaction. "he's going sit here and rock me...then he's going to put the falsetto on me? " classic.
BEST MOVE YOU EVER MADE !!
Richie is the best

I don't think this man wants to listen to far right wing racist.
Watch Richie Kotzen live in Tokyo or Richie Kotzen Bootlegged In Brazil concerts, all of those songs and performances are the best I've heard.
❣
Aside from all three members other work (some quite famous) the Winery Dogs catalog is pretty righteous.
Richie "Frontman" Kotzen was messing with his hair at the beginning as it was windy as hell that day up in the Malibu hills where this video was recorded.

3 of the nicest most down to earth people you will ever meet.
Legit legends before they formed this greatest of bands.
This is rock and roll.
Good musicians. Didn't care for the song.
I love your look when when the singer hits the falsetto.
Yes! The Winery Dogs are incredible!
Check out their cover of Reach Out, I'll Be There.
Oblivion too
Dogs Man! They kick ass.
Start with the first winery dogs album. It had rocking songs. Soulful songs. Ballad. Awesome musicianship. And Richie Kotzen’s vocals are immaculate.
If you want to break the mold check out the group 3rd Secret and their recent song, I Choose Me. Simply awesome, current Seattle music.
Forgot about Vertu, a great fusion group he had with Stanley Clarke on bass and Lenny White on the skins along with a classical piano player and violinest whose names I cannot recall. All of Kotzen's bands are top notch along with his solo work.
