"If Marcus Rashford played at Man City under Pep Guardiola"??? He wouldn't get any game time under Pep. Maybe in the Carabao cup games only. Rashford would've ended up like Kalvin Phillips. Pep is very reluctant to select players who aren't good enough. Paul Ince is spot on about Rashford needing to keep his mouth closed and just focusing on playing well. Rashford is bang average yet he wants to be paid and treated like an elite level player. Players like John O'shea, Darren Fletcher, Nicky Butt never desired the limelight. They understood their level. They kept a low profile

      1. They all have egos, its needed in football.
      2. Arrogant, hmmm is rather personal considering you more than likely have never even held a conversation with him. He seems like a frustrated player to me.
      3. Obsessed with materialistic things? The guy makes money in his sleep and can buy whatever he wants, that's the life of a rich footballer. You sound a bit jealous to me, or you want to talk negative about him because your own life is probably not so fulfilling.
I dont think he's all that, but there's definitely a player in there. It's just unfortunate he plays for this version of crappy utd. Personally I think he needs to move on as he don't seem too happy at the club from my perspective, or he's just got too comfortable. I maybe wrong I maybe right, either way it's his choice and his life.

The thing people are forgetting is Rashford got into the United team by default not by some amazing form in the reserves. If United never had that injury crisis he might well of never had his chance.
So, when you take that into account and look at Fodens development and how he had to bide his time and be patient to get his chance. The reality is, if Rashford was a City youth player we might never of heard of him. There is no way he’d of got his chance like what he got at United. He simply wasn’t that good.

I think the issue is that Foden seems to be getting better every season, whereas Rashford seems to be going backwards. When he first came onto the scene I thought he could have been another Mbappe, as he seems to have the attributes. But take a look at MR's goal stats. In 9 PL seasons he has only hit double figures 4 times, and has never scored more than 17 goals in a PL season. So he's never been prolific, despite his ability. But hey go enjoy your "the guy can't even score" moment and sleep in peace knowing that Foden looks at Rashford's impressive goals tally with envy. Theo Walcott also hit 14 Premier League goals once for Arsenal, didn't make him any less of a dud.

I was simply pointing out that the pundits were comparing the two, and in any other season the conclusion would be vastly different. As far as stats, forget the fact that Rashford spent most of his career not playing as a striker, but a winger. Not to mention that throughout his career he's regularly in double figured for assists, plus all the running off the ball he's done, dragging defenders out of position and making space for teammates. He contributes way more than most prem players, but half a season of poor performances plus the political involvement a few years ago and everyone's his biggest critic. Ya'll clueless. But go ahead and keep showing your ignorance. It's entertaining to watch.

Rashford had a great season last season, won pl-player of the month 3 or 4 times. He can preform at a top level, but his head doesn't seem to be in it atm. He's seemingly closest friends (Sancho, Pogba and Lingaard) has probably affected him in a negativ way, and I see a lot of their attitudes in him now. I do belive him when he says he loves the club, but he is nowhere close to showing that on the pitch right now. A move away would be the best for both him and the club.

Watching the game. I was under no doubt who should be the England left winger. It's Foden not only got 2 goals but was tracking back, defending with decent tackles and interceptions for 90 mins.
Rashford on the other hand scored a wonderful unexpected goal but was nowhere for the 60mins he played and barely helped out his team and went down with a slight brush from Walker which was massively embarrassing.
If Southgate takes Rashford to the Euros we deserve to lose because he hasn't earned his place this season.

Biggest problem England had in the 90s wasn't playing the Man utd back 4 (especially 96) when they dominated the league!! Parker bruce and palister.. Irwin was the left back (not English) instead they played Pearce, Southgate, Adams and Neville.. regardless of how good Adams was and he was exceptional.. surly playing 3 out of a back 4 in Neville, bruce and palister who play week in week out together winning titles and cups with Pearce at LB would have been stronger

Rashford is a talented goalscorer, but unfortunately the system at United is thoroughly broken and it wont allow him to thrive.
Add him to the list of good players who couldn't reach their potential at United over the years:
Ibrahimovic, Di Maria, Alexis Sanchez, Memphis Depay, Falcao, Mkhitaryan, Zaha, Schweinsteiger, Lukaku, Cavani, Pogba, Ronaldo.
It sucks to see all the pure hatred Rashford is getting from the fans, despite scoring 30 just last season. Very fickle 👎

@@footychat3992 funny comment but in reality rich people can still get stressed out. Look up Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory if you're unfamiliar with this.
Also look up United's all time scorer list and you'll see that Rashford is above the likes of David Beckham, Andy Cole, Eric Cantona. And playing in the worst united side in recent memory.
He's not performing well but the mob mentality hatred and disrespect from the fans is unreasonable IMO.
