1hr in - great so far. *_WONDERFUL_* to have a face, voice and a better insight into the personality that is Jim Capone. The rest is scheduled for over the weekend . Thanks to all 3 of you (4 if you include Jason's Mom) 😇
Thanks for this show - it was great. Jim Capone is an amazing talent. I use so many of the tips he has provided over the years. There is a spark in his work that is like no one else.
@paulgill1601 Only just getting into this Paul - but (1) Had no idea you were suffering *_OR_* going into surgery, and (2) Now I DO know, I hope you heal up quickly and you end up with the mobility & reduced pain you need. Take it easy my friend - you deserve the very best result!
Man, what a super nice guy. Thanks for the time, Jim, that was awesome. Maybe next time you are on we can get a tour of the studio and your setup. Scott and Jason, awesome shirts this episode. Hopefully the link for the grail kits works for people, it has been awhile since I made a Google spreadsheet and assigned editing rights. If it doesn't work let me know and I will try to figure it out.
I can relate to what Jim said about belonging to a IPMS club. I’m also the one in the club that does the figure kits while everyone else is building ships, planes and tanks. When he was talking about that, it was like he was talking about me. Let him know he is not alone on this.
Jim's work is just incredible! It's pretty obvious that if i want to up my painting game I'll need to learn to airbrush. Although the London After Midnight bust shows that with skill, a brush works fine
Great episode! Took me longer than normal to get through it as I couldn't just let it play in the background. Way too much great eye-candy in this episode. Jim had some great painting tips, and some interesting stories as well. As far as the discussion about not entering contests after getting a gold. That wouldn't stop me, because my reason for entering isn't to win, it's to show off work. The contest is a motivator for me to finish models. And I usually bring everything I have finished since the last contest. Regardless of the quality. That part may change at some point if I ever ramp up the number of kits I finish. But I will always want to put kits on the contest table.
I had photos I took at Wonderfest last year I posted. They were used by someone else like they were theres. You are correct, there is nothing you can do. Even a watermark added people just edit it out. Great shirt Jason.....and I'm all out of bubblegum. So am I
Last comment (honest) - Gildan softstyle t shirts - makes other shirts (including Gildan's own regulat ts) feel like sackcloth with a lining of sandpaper!!
Using pictures without permission - yes, credit the painter where able too but I do agree that ownership is a mute point where the item involved is unlicensed. As much as it may seem innocuous when taling about a billion dollar franchise (i.e Star Trek), it was still SOMEONES hard work initially that is being unrewarded and there are always people involved in the original work that didn't make a fortune......
Please Sir (to Jim Capone), can you help me with my collage? NO, GO AWAY, CAN'T YOU SEE I'M PAINTING MY FRANKENSTEIN MODEL!!!!( Sir,why do we have to paint Zombies AGAIN.......?

The look of the alien when Scott said he hasn't seen "This Island Earth" ? Priceless.
Thanks, Jason, it was worth the effort.

Just finished this episode. One of the best!! Jim is a genuine painting genius!
Haven't listened yet but very excited! A panel with Jim 5ish years ago was a fantastic resource for painting and helped to shape my art so much.
Great job, Jim! Very informative and helpful, (as always). Thanks. - Tony W.
Great show guy's. Jim's work is amazing.
Jim’s on the top of the paint mountain for sure ..
Great show
Recovering from Surgery, watching Model Club TV. Thanks for the well wishes, Scott and Jason.

Also rust primer for skin tone is a game changer. Learned that a few years ago and it helps so much.

Great show, and a great guest!
Been a lurker on Jim’s work for the longest. Plus actually sat in on a lecture/demo he did one year at JerseyFest (?). What an awesome guy.

01:45:00 "Are you watching porn again?!" - "it's reference honey, honest!".....
"Skinjob" was a slur for the replicants in Blade Runner.
I knew it was something!
