This is a beautiful video and I love this family atmosphere. I’m now feeling pretty confident on the next steps for this limoncello I’m making! I’ve followed the steps directly. Thank you!
I have never tried but I like the idea. The texture of them becomes almost chip like after the soak. I will need to try it out on my next batch. Thank you for the idea!
Hello, I noticed that you did not recommend washing & drying the lemons thoroughly because of being at the market, plus any bug spray that might have been sprayed on while on the trees.
I'm thinking crema di limoncello with honey! I once added the lemon juice to the end product, it was a terrible drink but great for adding a fresh flavour when cooking.
After the limoncello sits in the refrigerator for some time it gets cloudy and forms white blobs... is that the lemon oil? How can you prevent this to keep it looking clear and pretty? thanks.
That's a Great idea!!! I haven't seen a recipe like that. Seems like it would taste a lot more lemony. Maybe put the juice in, as part of water...it all?!
You edited out the amount of water when speaking (why?) and proceeded to say it's the same amount as alcohol, but when you're combining all of the ingredients it doesn't look even close to the same amount.
You should explain to your viewers how you get the honey to stay in the mix without coming out of suspension and forming a bunch of floating clots. After less than a week in the bottle the honey begins to separate and ruins the bottle of Limoncello...I made a case and had to throw them all away. I'm guessing yours did the same thing....and if so, you should remove this video!!
I am sorry you felt the need to throw it away but when it separates the only thing I have ever had to do was give the bottle a few shakes and it is incorporated again and can be used. It tastes no different than when it was first made. Perhaps, if you are turned off by the separated honey, you could run it through a cheesecloth to remove the offending globs, but again, it really should blend in after a few shakes.
@@waywardgourmandscooking6090 Lol, no one wants to drink Limoncello with clots swimming in it! Further, I found that shaking it does not re-incorporate it, especially if it has been sitting for a while. Anyway, there is no need to make Limoncello with honey it is just a failed experiment and a waste of good lemons. The point of my response is that you should have warned viewers about the clotted mess that the honey causes.
Thank you. I've been looking for a recipe that uses honey instead of sugar.
The BEST lemon chello recipe with honey that I have seen!
Happy Thanksgiving 🙏🤗

Thanks! Gonna start the batch this afternoon.
Could those used zests be sugared then dehydrated for candy or garnish?

@@waywardgourmandscooking6090 I will try it too!
Lori Duncan that’s a clever idea, Lori! :-)
@@WalterTonetto Thanks! 🍋💛🍋
I added used peels to sugar. Shook it up. Dried them and nibbled.
I'd love to try this limoncello with my lemon drops

Thanks for the recipe… if using 1.75 everclear how much water and honey should I use ? Thank you
How long is this good for after it’s made? I’ve made one before and it said to discard after 5 days.
I’ve had mine over a year I make batches every Christmas it’s sitting in 95 proof so not a lot will happen just keep it cold and taste

What spirit did you use Vodka?
Everclear grain alcohol
I put the juice of the lemons in with the zest. How come you don’t do that step, it’s pretty good.

Consider squeezing the lemon's juice in there as well for added flavor and vitamins.
You will then get a lemonade taste...not recommended.

@@comfortablynumb4797 You had an issue with your honey, bad honey. Filter the honey or use better honey next time.
