You used to drive a Honda. It was the coolest. Everyone had one, and being a part of the team made you feel good inside. But that was the past. Now Honda's lame and everyone around you has a brand new Benz. Ask yourself: do you really need one too? Drive what makes you happy. Believe in yourself.
I think Honda’s still incredibly strong when paired with purity and life absorption mechanics, not gonna lie I wish they would have nerfed the damage reduction some as well. That said it’s never been my clan and never will be in any case. Just saying the skill damage wasn’t the only thing that made it OP.
Thanks for your video’s, I spent hrs trying to get whatever the whoever RUclipsr said, and it never worked, and I had no fun playing this game. I found you, and one other, and now I understand the game, and my build is A/A with a bunch of mixed matches gear. I’m in demon now having a great time. Thanks for another great video.
As someone who finds Benzaiten's Grace to be a blast, it's nice to see builds that aren't overly relying on it or other forms of buffs. I actually used a build similar to your tank build for a while with Fukuroju's Grace and Veteran's Gear + Hairy Butterfly, it was hilarious being able to just rub my face on bosses and basically no sell all of their attacks.
Great video, I hope more Nioh players start watching your videos instead of the ones we know who don't want to make the slightest effort to find out things like this by themselves :)
Thanks! I won't be tackling a build video for some time. My next video will most likely be "So you've beaten the game, so now what?" type of video that's meant to hopefully encourage players to try out more skillplay. Of course, the combo mads will still keep going too :)
I remember doing a semi-tank build in Nioh 1 by stacking Tranquil Foundations with Heroic Raging Bull (warrior of the west bow and yatagarasu gun) to get around 50-60% passive damage reduction, then use wind and weaken melee weapon on top to make enemies do basically nothing to me. I also remember using the warrior monk helm with the purple bull guardian spirit to be able to block insane amounts of hits in another build. They worked decently in WotS-WotN, but I haven't delved further into the Abyss to see how they fare.
This has been a massive help for my own Yoshitsune Build. I got lucky enough for a Usumidori with Purity to drop, though it leaves other things to be desired before it will be properly strong. I just really enjoy being sort of a Purity centered Yokai Slayer of sort. Apply Purified to my foes and then start racking up damage slowly but surely before I go in with some finisher skills/yokai abilities of mine. Doubt it's super strong in DoTN, but you keep showing us that "Do you REALLY need it to be so insanely strong? Maybe it will do just fine the way it is." My stuff so far, DoTD, soon DoTW is Benzaiten 6pc, Kurama Swordmaster 7pc - with a Purity focus for my Sword(Main) and Splitstaff(Secondary). It can hit really darn hard sometimes, but I still find that I need to get that Purity proc and still need to watch my enemies and make good use of actual tech to survive fights. I can't take much damage as it is, but I can dish it out rather decently. I really look forward to seeing how my build transitions from here. Will it get stronger because I get more Purity focus available? Will I need to change something up perhaps? Maybe I discover something far better suited for it than the Versatility playstyle? Honestly I just really like Sword and Splitstaff. And Minamoto no Yoshitsune's aesthetic. So I intend to keep experimenting until I find what works best for it.
Hey dude. This is a very old video but i was hoping you could see this comment and hopefully help me. I tried the tank build you showcased and I got it up to -47% dmg taken mid attack and tried it against benkei in DOTD. I deal a decent amount of damage but the damage i take is still too much despite having B agility, 2.5k defense and over 200 toughness. I could be testing it against the wrong enemy though. I need to test it more along with maintaining life recovery from amrita absorption.
@@PooferLlama just checking ive gotten alot better at dodging now I want to use a light armor build but need more practice i do a combination of block and dodge
@@PooferLlama Thank you so much for this video. I like to find multiple ways to put together A agility with A toughness. If someone wanted that and wanted to add more weapon variety to that build they could use the waist piece from shibata's set with the hatchets to get the 3 PC damage reduction mid attack. This would also provide an opportunity for A in both toughness and agility. Same could be said for the switch glaive or split staff paired with the waist piece from Benkei's armor. That +20 toughness on the 3 pc is nice. The waist piece from the master swordsman with with it's dual sword would provide the -10% ki use on active skills. I believe all of these would work using Kurama's sword and flute with 2,3,or 4 pieces of armor depending on how many bonuses one wants from that set. A 22 min long video of how to make a build that does low damage and makes you take forever to kill even a yoki, yea i will pass you do not need to use those meta things he mentioned in order to do actually good damage. I can tell hes good at the game which is cool and all, however this is poor in terms of builds like really weak kind. Litterally dual scaling katana+ max dex with flying kato and full elemental weapon damage on all armor parts+attack aswell will do a great deal better than this. All you need in terms of buffs/debuffs is carnage talisman+trans doll and any ice/water ability and your damage with the above mentioned will be good, no need for all these super mega buff stacking and stuff sure you can delete bosses easy.
With all due respect, I do feel you missed the point of the video. The 1st two minutes were just clips from my streams as just background footage while I narrated the intent of the video. The way that I play in my streams is not for everyone. In the opening footage you saw, I intentionally have reduced my damage in order to elongate combat. That is why it took me a while to kill that buffed yoki; that's my own way of having fun. I also have 55 in all stats to show that the game is absolutely enjoyable despite sub-optimal stat assortment. In the rest of the video, I show 2 different builds that I made with little effort. One is a tanky character that I encourage players to expand upon. This character can shrug off most attacks and I demonstrate this by purposefully taking hits that most players would avoid from a DotD Ryomen Sukuna. The 2nd character is more traditional in terms of buildmaking and is able to take down a DotD Benkei (who has a large health pool) in about 90 seconds. Again, even with my lazy buildmaking, I am still able to clear content at a reasonable rate for most players with these simple builds. And, that's really the point. Players ought to look for interesting synergies to help them tackle content. Not only does this work well, but it's also a lot more fun for players.
