Beautiful, rhythmically precise and still very romantic. But where is the wonderful temperament that Flier shows to us in his Schumann recordings?
These Mazurkas are PERFECTLY played.

I think Zaritskaya plays the 2nd better than her teacher his was rather bland.
Why is he so forgotten? I just recently discovered him and adore his playing!
I had piano teacher - Arnis Zandmanis, who’s abot 75 now, who studied with Yakov in Moscow. There wasn’t a piano lesson when he didn’t talk about/mentioned Flier Flier Flier…I think he has heavy feelings, that ”nobody” understands how much he loves him and what kind of genius he is…
About the Mazurkas, Op. 41, the first one (in C sharp minor)is listed as number four.Sorry for the comment-
