I probably wouldn't use the shin extensions, I think he's tall enough (he's as tall as un-upgrade-kitted Magnus and slightly taller than Optimus or Rodimus, which I feel is appropriate height) but I do like the new hands and matrix chain. The only issue is I'd need 2 kits because I have both Kingdom and GenSelects versions of the mold as I knew I had to have a Marvel Galvatron on my shelf (because Marvel Galvatron is Best Galvatron).
if Anything it should have been thigh/hip extensions, not shin, but overall it looks fine, depending on what episode of G1 his shins were huge anyway haha
WOW, I forgot how "dirty" Kingdom Galvatron was after playing with the Legacy version for almost a week? (I was going to do the "showing,speed,talking,by,not,using,spaces" thing by decided against it.) Something cool I found with my figure is, if you don't want the Revenge guns and Matrix _on_ him, you can make a trophy. Just peg the guns together, stand them up so the handles are on the sides, and put the Matrix over the "barrels" like you would Galvatron's neck.
I see a lot of Upgrade kits for Galvatron to make him taller. Do people really think he's too short? Dude is way taller than most voyagers. The rest is nice, I specially like the hands, gun and new bloosh.
I'd argue the hands aren't great either, simply because of the _permanent bend_ on the index finger like he's Groundskeeper Willie having played too much Space Invaders.
It’s a cool kit but I’m still not sure if I want to get it for my Galvatron. I like Galvatron the way he is but the interchangeable faces is just SO TEMPTING

Debating between this one and the ZX Studios one. DNA: Face swapping, Opening hands, Shin extensions, Blast effect, Matrix chain that dangles weird, Price: 30+shipping or 38 ebay shipped ZX: height modified by foot upgrade, new back piece for cartoon accuracy, Decals for face and shoulders, better designed matrix chain, $17 Free shipping. The overall package of DNA looks like a more natural upgraded version of the Galvatron mold we got, but the ZX is more accurate to the cartoon with the pointier shoes, decals for the face, and back piece. (I can't really justify both, as that would be the price of a whole second leader, and would make a decal set altogether impossible to justify. I had DNA on preorder on BBTS for 6 months, but after all that time, decided to cancel it when everywhere else seemed to be shipping them already.
I think the hole fillers were for people who got the first wave of the Kingdom version with the wrongly assembled shoulders who had to twist them around to get in the proper orientation which exposes the hole on the front of the shoulder. There was a mod you could do to fix it, but this is a decent solution.
I have to say i was really disappointed he didn’t come with a cool blast effect part, I mean he’s literally a giant cannon, but instead we get what the weird revenge guns?
They should have made transformable treads that can compress in robot mode. And if they wanted to give him extra height, they should have given him feet extensions because they already are very stubby, the shin just make them look extra stubby.
I have gotten this upgrade kit last week or two ago. A bit unexpected but none the less the kit is nice. The new hands are good but a bit annoying with the index finger not having an extra joint though.

Not even Takara variants like before , 3rd party companies making hands . Can’t afford the clean version, keeping battle damaged Galvy too 😹
I decided to get this one, because I don't want to fix the shoulders on mine, because I'm bad at it and afraid to break my figure. Unlike the other kits, where the fillers are just circles with no sculpt, this one looks ways better from the front, almost like it was meant to be this way.
I got this figure to pair with Coronation Starscream, because I thought, same scale. He towers over C. Starscream, so while I might consider the other parts here, I'd skip "Leg day".
I won't be buying this. Galvatron already seems pretty damn near perfect to me. That being said, got damn that is probably the best color matching I've seen on an upgrade kit yet and that gun looks fantastic. I never liked the gun on the G1 version and always preferred just having the arm canon. Credit where its due though. Nice lookin kit.
I agree that the shin pieces make him look too tall. I'll use everything else though. Do you think the inside of his mouth needed black paint or does the natural shadow work?

Here’s the thing. I don’t think Galvatron needs any of these. The only problem I have with him, that I haven’t seen ANYONE try to fix and it’s probably the easiest thing to produce, is a shorter orange barrel for his cannon. His current one is stupid long, while I’d argue that as far as the cartoon goes, his canon is smaller than Megatron’s.
You know you can fudge him trying to open the Matrix with everything stock? I was able to quite a few times. Still considering gettingbthe upgrade kit though. Stock, all you have to do is turnnthe Matrix upside down and flip the entire chain upside down and move his arms so they support it and look like he is actually holding it.
This is the same kit as the one for kingdom galvatron, the only reason why I got galvatron was because of this kit I had seen. It really brings the figure, kinda wished it would had come with a sticker sheet for chest and legs, the $40 I spent on the figure and the $30 on the kit plus the taxes I should had just gone for a ko masterpiece megatron instead. But regardless it makes the figure better, and a throwback to the old one which........... was also taller than all the g1 figures that was paired with him during the movie time. I never installed the rivet covers because that's where the tracks fit so the arm can move more freely
I wish I could get the hands separately because that is the only issue I have with the figure and it feels like the ankle extension, bloosh, and gun are there just to add cost
After having had this kit for a year, and having just picked up the Behold Galvatron kit, I can say it would have been better to extend the thighs instead of the shins. The faces actually look worse in person than on this vid. But other than that the only real issue is his "Hey, Beavis, smell my finger!" hands.
Wish the leg extensions were on the thighs, dude already has super long shins...I like the taller galvatron but this kit doesn't help the super hero landing...
The only thing I wanted was a fix for Galvatron’s weird ass feet. Luckily I found a kit on eBay. It included a few other accessories too. This is neat though!

This kit basically makes him a Masterpiece, what with the alternate faces and articulated hands, all that's missing is a handle for gun mode. It's cool how they found a use for the odd slot and tab on those leg pieces.
I got this kit last week and I couldn't do the leg extensions because they sent 2 of the same side. I don't even know who or how to get a hold of someone to rectify this. This was also my first BBTS purchase. So disappointed.

Fun fact: the chain can easily be made by taking a small drill, cutting off the old chain and drilling holes in the base of the necklace. Then, you take a small section of simple necklace chain and attach that

I would put the foot extenders on the Pulse toy-based Galvatron seeing that it bumps him to size more with Magnus I believe.

TFSafari has done a better upgrade kit which includes feet, back spike extension, GQ gun and a better chain with matrix holder imo. Much cheaper too.
