I am in such awe of this woman. Never has any singer affected me like Lara Fabian does. It's like a religious experience I swear. Ive been a Streisand fan for a lifetime now and no one in my opinion could ever be placed up alongside her until Lara came along. The journey she takes you on...no words. ❤
Once again we can enjoy Lara's so beautiful strong velvet voice and stunning performances. Lara's appearances on stage are always simple. Simple clothes, a minimum of makeup, a minimum or mostly no jewelry, no flashy fingernails. Purely natural. No background dancers and so on. All you get as an audience is her unique amazing velvet lyrical soprano voice of 4.1 octaves and her emotional connection with the audience
One of my favorite singers, singing a song of one of my favorite movies by my all time favorite artist Barbra Streisand. What could be better. Usually I don’t listen to covers of Barbra’s songs because she’s the best, but Lara is the only one who pulls it off. Not to mention that she’s running all over the stage singing this difficult son. Fantastic performance
Spectacular reaction my friend Alan!!!....You have some many masterpieces to react from The Goddess Lara Fabian, but I will recommend you watch her song "Je T'aime" LIVE in Paris 2001, but you have to watch it with a tissues box in your hands.... Believe me, it's very, very, very emotional!!
She'd have a Tony if she did this on Broadway. She'd have multiple Grammys if she had broken into the American market. She's won plenty of other awards, but she doesn't display any of them in her home. They're packed away. She's such a down to earth person, no diva-like behavior...cough...Mariah.
Yes! I knew that a Barbra's fan like you would love it ! Lara definitely paid tribute to her idol in the best way: keeping the core emotions and trademark vocalzation but adding her own spin on it. And I believe Barbra never attempted to sing live these 2 difficult masterpieces in sequence. You said: can you explain this ? I will have my shot and try to do it: 1/ Lara is the best performer and emotions conveyer ever. Far beyond everything you have seen from other vocalists (my view). If you continue this journey, you will come to the same conclusion. And she is also known to have the most resonant belts ever. 2/ Barbra was really her idol (along with Maria Callas, Nana Mouskouri, Freddy Mercury and Phil Collins/Genesis) and she knew the song and movie by heart. The amazing great french composer Michel Legrand, who composed these 2 masterpieces (he won one of his 3 oscars with Yentl, the 2 others were Windmills of your mind from the Thomas Crown Affair and The Summer of 42) , highly praised Lara version for his interpretation. 3/ Here she is singing to her father. Her parents were at this concert, celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary. And just before this song Lara explained the audience that her father was key to the start of her career, funding her first record with his lifetime savings. This medley was deidcated to him. So this may also explain the intensity and the emotion when she sings "Papa". This concert is amazing ( as many others from Lara, I in fact prefer two other ones) and she sang this in between some other masterpieces (some very demanding french songs from her own + some amazing covers like this one, I will always love you or Vision of love). The last song of the concert named "Tout" is spectacular and is a testimony of her amazing stamina. I really love how she ends the song, kneeling on the scene. This, plus the camera backward traveling, reminds me of the last scene of the movie, with Barbra belting on the ship, and the backward traveling of the camera slowly reducing the ship to a single spot in the sea. I expect to see more from Lara on your channel. By the way, she also covered Evergreen with an orchestra conducted by John Williams himself.
@@louispaquet8185 no I don´t think so. There was some confusion generated by a comment to a reaction that led people think this was the case. But in fact it was about the presence of Lara’s parents. But lLara and Barbra met several times later on, with David Foster as a common friend being the connection point.
My orily explaination is that Lara is the opposite of an empath. Instead of absorbing and internalizing the feelings of others, she makes her audience feel everthing she is expressing within the foundation of thsir soul. The most popular version of Je Taime shows th audience throwing it back at her beautifully.
Thank you for your reaction! I can't get enough of Lara! I watch this performance over and over and can't understand why she's not one of the biggest broadway stars and/or "just" singing star if that's a word, like Barbra or Celine. I think she's not the forth in the trinity, but just one of the three. She kicked Mariah of her place a long time ago, I think.
She’s collaborated with the likes of Phil Collins so I think we can safely assume 😊 she is well respected by musicians and adored by fans .. I’d guess she’s happy 😊

Barbara give very much her approval to do that sound and the long version all at once. Lara she says, if someone can do it all in one version, you are the one.
Lara is so amazing ! Love her si much ❤ Please , make other reaction from Her . Caruso, Adagio, you are not from here, broken vow... And the most beautiful concert from her is "en toute intimité". There is english substitles.
I'm enjoying watching you fall into the Lara Fabian rabbit hole! It's an amazing ride! Keep going! Before you know it you'll be scouring RUclips for every bit of performance that she has done and there are hundreds to enjoy!
Lara’s own Papa was in audience that night. One can only the pride he had at seeing the success of his little girl. Just amazing. Lara and Rick slept in a car for a while as they tried out their music in Canada. Her story should be made into a film.
Lara made a film actually about 10 years ago to coincide with her Mmselle Zhivago album. It’s a little bit of everything but you cannot help but find Lara an incredible talent along the way. I’m sure you would enjoy her voice and acting throughout.
Hi there Alan! You are absolutely right. This is absolutely stunning! 😁 Yes, it's almost impossible to find enough words to praise this performance. It's that good. Almost flawless perfect vocals and that person who lives those words on that stage and play that scene in front of us...like we were in a movie. She is one of the wonders of this world. These two songs are not easy ones to sing, and she can do it while moving around the stage and play that role. You know she did it in another official concert too. Her vocals were flawless in that time, here she had couple of issues in the beginning, but still this is the perfect version because of her acting and her passion in the performance. Incredible. I think you are in a way to become a big Lara fan like we all here. 😁😁 By the way, it was great idea to split the screen in two the way you did. You had some issue in timing though (vid vs audio). It didn't matter, to me anyway. I've seen this about thousand times 😁

I only discovered Fabian relatively recently, but it felt to me like finding what so many great singers are missing. She has what Tina Turner and Linda Ronstadt had--she just reaches into your soul. I know it's tantamount to sacrilege, but I always found Streisand cold. She's technically great but to me she sounds like the feelings are all just an act.
Just so everyone who has a little visit realises ( not you my friend ) but new visitors .. as long as an opinion has a reason and it’s not just “ nasty “ then that’s why I’m here , to let all views be expressed .. and that’s why I love music 😊😎
What interpretation she makes of Barbra Streisand's Yentl. Barbra Streisand returned the favor, performing Lara Fabian's beautiful song, BROKEN VOW. YOU WILL NOTICE THAT IT TAKES REAL SINGERS to perform these songs. Thank you from Montreal.
long and complex story but to sum it up : Lara started to be promoted in the US as the new Barbra or the new Celine. Rene Angelil, Celine’s husband, didn’t want competition from Lara and made sure to block her access to US market. She was in contract with Sony, as Celine, and he used his influence ( huge as it was just after Titanic success) to force sony execs to stop promoting her first album and to prevent venues to invite her. The concert From Lara With Love, full of gems such as Je suis malade, was recorded for this promotion but they didn’t broadcast it as planned initially. They tried to force Lara to sing pop dance songs. She did "I will love again" which was a huge success (#1 to US Dance charts for more than 1 year) but refused to follow that path and broke with them. She had to refocus on non english speaking Europe and became a legend there. There is a documentary on this story between Lara and Sony ruclips.net/video/TyB6vXDdZBY/видео.html
