I just recently finished a long road trip from NC to Glacier Nat Pk in Montana. Rain storms, hail storms, mountain passes and my 2019 Rav 4 registered 31.1 mpg. That M4 is mighty impressive.
Currently on a road trip with my 2022 M4 Comp XDrive. Phoenix to northern MN and back. All comfort settings, AWD. Avg mileage taken for each tank ranging from 29 to 33 mpg. Cruise control settings 65 to 80. Stay off the turbos and it’s pretty remarkable. Keep in mind, this is not mountain driving.
The G80CXD is the greatest practical sports car, ever. That level of performance & practicality rarely reside together in a single platform. My G80CXD goes from Housewife to Stripper with just a push of a button. Couldnt think of a better sports car for dads...
Amazing MPG. I currently have a 2022 M440i xDrive and recently did a 10 hour trip from home Tampa FL to Blue Ridge Mountains. 30mpg+ using comfort mode and gave no consideration to saving fuel. I am trading it in for a M4 Comp xDrive next month and I was expecting to get killed on fuel economy. This video result was not what I expected. Thanks for doing this. By the way, if there are any folks here who have driven the M440i/M340i G2X and also driven M3/M4 G8X I would love to know how "comfortable" the M3/M4 is for long drives compared to M440i/M340i from the aspect of exhaust noise and suspension.
My X3 M Competition averages 23 mpg on the highway. At 80 mph, I can get 21 mpg, at 70 mph, I can get 25 mpg. So yeah, BMW underrates both the state power and state efficiency of these cars.
Its really that good. I tested it last weekend and got about 450 mls out of a tank. But it has nothing to do with M-Driving. I kind of feel ashamed for bragging about it.
I believe this BMW requires 91 octane or better. To me the Toyota Avalon Hybrid is half the price and would get nearly 50 MPG for the same trip on regular 87 octane gas. The Avalon would have to be my choice with gas nearing $6 a gallon...
DM, A decade ago VW Diesels were 'shattering' EPA highway numbers. One day, a ragtag group of university researchers stuck a probe in the tailpipe and lo and behold...........😉

Good tips!
Nice, I thought mpg on these would be 18-25
What’s the mpg in the city?
@@RR011 City driving seems to be close to the 18 mpg.

Holy moly
GREAT VIDEO. I own this car and planned on taking it from NY to ATL this fall and was wondering!

LCI x3m?
They do this so they don't get sued if your car gets let mpg or hp than they rate it at
Actually they do this with every manufacturer
Did you not want to test this in 2WD mode and see if it made a difference?
Its really that good. I tested it last weekend and got about 450 mls out of a tank. But it has nothing to do with M-Driving. I kind of feel ashamed for bragging about it.
My M340 RWD also beats its EPA estimate easy. They underrate the B58's power and efficiency lol
I keep seeing good highway mileage but does anyone know what real world city mpg is for you guys?
Yo can you show us how to fill up a Bmw m4 competition#because i wanna know.
What fuel are you using ?
Skyscraper Grey?
I think so.
You guys shorten the route just for this car or it's permanent?
Lovely German bimmer long bonnet handsome masculine coupe w/ great MPG..💪👷🇩🇪⚙🛠⚒
Is that us mpg
Was this mpg test done in AWD mode or RWD mode ?
Probably AWD because it was in the normal street mode. RWD is only on in a special mode.
Have you done this test with a manual M4 or M3?
No we have not.
@@DailyMotor I hope you guys have a chance to test one in the future, I’m interested to see if there will be a significant fall off.
Which would you prefer to drive daily. The M4 comp or the GT500?
That's a tuff one man that gt500 is a machine .but I would go M4
As a Daily M4 beats it 100% lol GT500 is a pretty hardcore vehicle
Hi, can you do a 2022 Ford Expedition video
Yup! Coming soon!
This or 2021 Hyundai Sonata in line
Is that a joke? The M4 costs more than double the Sonata N-line. Definitely get the M4.
awesome
I'd buy one of these if it had a 6-speed manual Trans. I'm not trans-phobic.
Order one with a 6 speed! It’s the best and it’s available
@@rickyalfaro4417 That's the plan.

If the price difference between 87 and 91 octane is that significant to you then you’re probably not shopping for a BMW M car
Ha ok I'll see you and your Avalon at the track or will you be at Thursday night Bingo?
@@alexprime9984 imagine cross shopping an avalon and an M4 lmao

Yeah well while the trip computer might, the pump doesn't lie.
I hate xdrive in this car
You're clueless I personally owned the G82 2022 XDrive. It's Day and Night different and beside you can enable rear drive only if you want
@@GoBrand0n yep got it on my m3 too. I’d never spec one again without it. If u feel the need hit the button for rwd
@@GoBrand0n yup And when we launch are cars its INSANE
@@GoBrand0n Ditto. Spectacularly fast and grippy!!
