Awesome tutorial. Photoshop is really daunting at first because there's so many things which don't make any sense....but I love tutorials like this because after being talked through it...it actually makes sense!!!!!!
Thanks. There was no oil pastel 63 option in my version of Photoshop but I managed to find one that worked just as well (option 60 Pastel). Thanks so much otherwise, this helped a ton.
Thanks! There are so many tutorials but this is the only one I could find that doesn't use custom brushes! And, this looks WAY better than all the others!
So I wasn't able to quite make this, which I am saddened to admit, I won't give up. But what I was able to make fills me with no small amount of joy. There's something to be said about making something from scratch lol. This is going to allow me to do some fun stuff with the pictures that I take. So thank you. PS: Where do I get all those brushes that you have? The photoshop that I have doesn't include them.
Adjustment Levels don't seem to want to work for me. The preview makes it look like it "seems" to be working, but then the final thing just looks like the same Noise as before, just a bit darker.
I know this video is from late 2016, but does anyone using the newer versions find that a bunch of all the old brushes are gone? I used to use those brushes but ever since they've gone I've been using stock images instead of making my own.
When it comes to the render clouds step, could you instead just draw in shapes in different layers at different opacities to replicate the same effect later on but have a more cartoony look?
I know this is probably too late but in case anyone comes across this and is wondering, just rename it with a .psd extension and it'll open in photoshop.
If my logo is made in illustrator and this background made in photoshop, could I combine them both together for commercial use? Will it be high quality to be applied on boxes?
Ok I figured out that it has something to do with the size. Because I want mine to be 1920x480. It should all be smaller right? But what does that have to do with Levels? Isn't that about colors? When I make 4000x2000 (resolution: 200 pixels/inch) it works but not with 1920x480 (resolution: 200 pixels/inch)
i love that this is real time so we can really see what you're doing. thank you, very useful!
Almost 3 years since the upload of this video... and just today i've discovered it, Thanks a lot !!!
