This is a Monster Hunter Stories 2 (MH Stories 2: Wings of Ruin) guide on getting an Astalos! Very powerful tech monstie you could use in the game. Just progress through the game until you defeat the raging Astalos. If you head to a quest board, you will find a quest called "Scrivener's Fear". Accept the quest and an Astalos will spawn outside Nua Te village. You may find Astalos eggs in rare dens in the Lake outside Nua Te village OR Terga/Volcanic Gate areas. You can get Astalos eggs in any nests/empty nests.

What is best way to boost monster retreats in this game?
am using paintballs as well as the "den protector L" skills but still seems to be super rare? (assume i need to stop doing the quick finish stuff after throwing paintballs?)

Tigrex, plum daimyo, paintball, breaking the part and elemental advantage, do everything at the same time for the best chance, I actually don't remember if my tigrex came with protective den G, or if I put it on it
