Hey Kevin... Three other tech hacks that I know work with at least most Princess ships: 1) on the floor under the bed is a euro outlet that is not always used for which I bring a small euro adapter plug that will turn that one outlet into 3 American outlets into which I can plug whatever devices I use in/near the bed (like my MacBook); 2) on the older Princess ships, there is usually at least one unused American outlet on the wall behind the TV; and 3) most of the TV's on Princess (and I would suppose pretty much every cruise line) have at least one USB plug on the side or in the back of the TV into which you could plug that long USB cord you bring with you. I always make use of it.
Two things we always take...1. Gingers chews for seasickness (works amazingly) you can buy from any drugstore like Walgreens...#2 Acidophilus capsules for any kind of cold sore, fever blister or upset stomach (heals any kind of fever blister whether from sun exposure or upset stomach in one or 2 days)
Traveling very light makes total sense to me! Light packing is the way to go! A lot of clutter can definitely be overwhelming! I was so sure that that ring was a sponge that you add water to! A stand for your toothbrush is really cool and updated! And that cabin looks so cozy even without the window! Take care-see ya soon on the next video!!🤗🛳🌺
You can use the universal plug around the ship to charge your phone. There are outlets everywhere. I also bring magnetic motion sensor lights for the cabin.
As always, another outstanding video. Have been spritzing my scrubs for 30 years. Some co-workers still iron their scrubs. But, as a critical care nurse, ironing is so unnecessary 😂 I’m living my dream cruises via your adventures. Thank you for including us on your awesome journey 👍👏
The older ships have a European Plug behind the bed. I use the adapter (mine has US outlet and USB ports) and I plug it under the bed and use my USB cord to charge electronics in the bed, it us perfect for plugging in your Cpap or PD Dialysis machine. We've never had a problem using a power cord as long as it is a non-surge one.
Instead of the porcelain donut, we use a toothbrush head holder that attaches to a mirror with a suction cup...also great when in the tropics and your AirBnb has ants. BTW jungle ants are a fact of living in the tropics, by weight they are the largest fauna phyla in the world. We always bring a travel adapter too, when traveling. I agree always make sure the adapter is high wattage and PD rated.
@@30AndAWakeUp We use one of those, too. Ours holds 2 toothbrushes (including those round brush covers) & 2 razors and has two large suction cups which we attach to the bathroom mirror. Have used it on cruise ships and in hotels. We swear by it for minimizing counter clutter and reducing chance of viral/bacterial contamination from ship/hotel cleaning staff.
Would LOVE a video on “things people take on cruises that should be left at home”… (let me start: “cleaning fluid to wash clothing, when needed”… I simply use their “liquid hand soap!”
Good ideas Kevin. As a frequent traveler, whenever I leave the room I place any sanitary items (toothbrush, electric shaver, etc) in my luggage which is locked by a luggage lock. Of course the luggage lock is not enough to prevent theft, but it will tell you if someone has gotten into things, in which case, you need a new toothbrush, etc. Also would recommend against charging via an unknown USB-C port. See cautionary notices issued for airports on this. Only charge via an electrical outlet using your trusted AC-USB converter block. Enjoyable travels!

They do allow extension cords and all kinds of adapters and things that make 6 plugs out of one plug. All that. The only thing they confiscate are surge protectors.
You can take a power bar onboard as long as it isn't a surge protected one. I have one that has 4 plugs plus 3 usb's it's great! I take it regardless of land or cruise travel
Yea, and people keep saying we can't bring extensions cords. This is NOT true ... I brought them for all 4 of my NCL cruises, different lengths, in both checked and carry-on luggages ... no problem at all.
No it doesn’t impact the phone battery and I have had no issue with the credit cards so far. I usually use the chip anyway. I should probably check the strip!

Good point on extension cords. My last cruise there was no plug availability for my CPAP machine. The room steward let me borrow one, and it ran across the room from the only outlet at the desk.
I got my toothbrush donut from the Muji store in Bangkok. It looks exactly the same as yours. Ive been travelling with it for the past 2 years, one of my best travel accessories for sure.
What I don't get is, what is the difference between placing your toothbrush into a glass and placing toothbrush on this toothbrush donut? The toothbrush is exposed in both instances.
Haha…well I was in the Navy 20 years and was a “drill sergeant” in Navy boot camp. And I did get loaned out to the Army for a year for a tour in Iraq. So maybe our paths crossed!
It sure would have been helpful to have your own store on Amazon or something so we could easily order something you spoke about such as the plug or the USB-C cords.
I've had issues with magnets being close to my credit cards. Destroys the magnetic strip. Also, I know having magnets near your computer is bad, I would think the same holds true for cell phones. Let me know how the magnetic attachment works in the long haul.
haven’t had an issue but honestly as you travel…you’ll notice that almost no other country uses strips anymore outside the US. Most use the chip which is WAY more secure than the strip. Most credit card companies are phasing out the strips, so you’ll see less and less of them in the US as well.
There are cruise approved non-surge multi strips you can bring. I take one with me all the time. It must be non-surge, cruise approved! Amazon has them.
Thanks for sharing! I have a similar block outlet, worked well so far. Regarding demagnetization - I can’t remember the last time I used the magnetic strip! Chip or tap. Maybe ATMs still read it?
Cool video Kevin! I don't think anyone could have possibly guessed that that was a toothbrush holder Out of interest, do you ever face loneliness in your travels in doing things alone mostly? I find myself struggling with this aspect.
Hmmm….I don’t really. I am pretty introverted so actually prefer to be alone most times. But I understand for sure that isn’t for everyone. I suggest you look for facebook groups. There are solo cruiser and expat groups almost anywhere you can think of.
Pickpockets/criminals all agree...they LOVE when people use those phone wallets. This way they get everything from them in one shot. Personally I keep cash, wallet and phone in different places. Remember kids...never keep all your eggs in the same basket. The more you know!
Fair comment…but allow me to retort: I’ve been traveling for almost 5 years straight…never had an issue. And all my eggs are not in one basket. I have my driver’s license, a debit card, a credit card and my phone. If all that is stolen, I have my watch…that can do credit card transactions with 5 different cards. Back in my cruise cabin I have an additional 4 credit cards, 3 debit cards and 2 more forms of ID, and my international and Thai Driver’s License. So, I’m covered. Definitely dont have all my eggs in one basket.

@@lockdown70 Great stuff. Appreciate the feedback. I should have definitely been a little more clear about that. And while I’ve been traveling full time for 5 years…I was in the Navy for 20 years, so really been traveling throughout my adult life. There is no better lifestyle. I do need to get something RFid blocking for sure. I know that’s becoming more and more of an issue. Although, I would think with the most places going to chip now…it’d make sense for credit cards to get rid of swipe bars. I think that’d get rid of the RFID issues. Better yet…hopefully the whole world goes to tap…then no issues! :) We live in a great time for travelers!
Don’t leave your tooth brush uncovered in your bathroom. Every time you flush bacteria is sent into the air and can land on your toothbrush. It’s a good practice to close the toilet lid before every flush to cut down on airborne bacteria.
Having an unprotected toothbrush head is gross. You can get those tiny caps that just snap on and then it doesn't matter if your toothbrush rests on the counter because it's protected. The stand you put it on still leaves your toothbrush exposed to airborne bacteria from flushing the toilet, chemicals from bathroom cleaning, etc.
@@30AndAWakeUp I usually keep 20 folded up inside it. Best feature to me is the Airrag holder so I don’t lose it and being able to use it as a stand at my desk.
I prefer to use the toothbrush holder that covers the bristles, I don’t want anyone touching my toothbrush. I have used the cover one for years & clean it out with a hand sanitizer wipe. I would suggest you get the RFID blocking credit card sleeves to protect your credit cards from the magnet in the holder. I don’t feel the magnet wallet hooked to your phone is very safe (especially for women), I have seen phones being snatched from hands of tourists and you’d loose everything. The water mister is the same as putting your hanging clothes if the bathroom and turning on the shower and letting them steam for 15 minutes. I have found water spots on a couple of my shirts/blouses after misting them lightly, you wouldn’t have that problem using the merino wool.
Not to quibble, but we all bring our wallet, keys, and phone when we go out, disembarking from a cruise isn’t any different than running into town at home. I’ve never been a fan of combining your wallet, keys and phone because if you lose one you lose them all.
Whats wrong with a plastic toothbrush holder.. it keeps airborne germs from landing on your toothbrush. And you can sanitize them with most mouthwash ✌🏼
The wallet attached to your iPhone and then used as a stand will make it so easy for it to be swiped. You’ll lose it all. The donut is another thing to misplace since it’s so small. I usually just use the cup in the room.
Nah, i’ve been traveling full time for 5 years now…filming in all kinds of crazy places with my phone. As long as you keep good situational awareness…not worried about it. :) I’ve been traveling with the donut thing for 2 years now…never lost it. :)
Not a big deal..I have all my credit and debit cards on my watch. And back on the ship I have 2 more forms of ID and 3 sets of debit and credit cards. As a full time traveler, I always have backups :)
C-..... (maybe a D+).....Let's start with the easiest: "Cartagena", the "N" doesn't have an "igloo ?" over it, and it's pronunciation is a soft "N" as in Nancy. (I'm hispanic and I don't know where the majority of American born have misconceived ideas as to this place's name.) Your rest of the video was showing/selling "junk" which would only take space in the valuable "real estate" that travel bags have. The gizmo to hold the toothbruth up is laughable at best. The (free/ already provided) glass cup that you put the toothbrush in, IS just fine. When you talk about "health cleanliness", well, you know what?!?, a bit of germs may create immunity for future infections always lurking around us. I can go on and on..... Oh well, this clip only makes you "human"....
I thought it was a wheel for a rollerskate... ha ha.

Spot on bro. 100% agree! Enjoy your 108 day cruise and be safe! @@30AndAWakeUp
Don’t leave your tooth brush uncovered in your bathroom. Every time you flush bacteria is sent into the air and can land on your toothbrush. It’s a good practice to close the toilet lid before every flush to cut down on airborne bacteria.
great advice…i wonder if that’s true with the vacuum toilets on cruise ships which are like the ones on airplanes.
Mythbusters confirmed that was true. Yuk. They didn’t test the vacuum flushing style.
We bring covers with suction cups
Also, Happy Valentine's Day!!💖🤗🛳
Happy Valentine’s Day to you.
Hey, he's back!
Yes, sir!
Made it 3 min in. You beat several 😊
haha! thanks 🙏
The circular item is meant to hold up candles.
nice
No. The circular holder is for a toothbrush and you can get a second one for your toothpaste. I have two. Ordered it online.
Or hold up something else 😀
I travel with a portable Bidet. Don't go anywhere without it.
Nice! 😂
Cruise ships confiscate power strips? I guess it could be a fire hazard is the thought?
yeah
awesome
no, only power strips that are surge protected - the plain ones with just standard plugs are fine
Only if they have surge protectors.
Having an unprotected toothbrush head is gross. You can get those tiny caps that just snap on and then it doesn't matter if your toothbrush rests on the counter because it's protected. The stand you put it on still leaves your toothbrush exposed to airborne bacteria from flushing the toilet, chemicals from bathroom cleaning, etc.
i have one
Just get a foldable travel toothbrush. Not exposed to the bacteria.
I have that wallet. Can confirm it’s a 10/10 for everyday life if you don’t carry cash.
I love the think and you can fold up a bill or two and fit it behind the id card :)
@@30AndAWakeUp I usually keep 20 folded up inside it. Best feature to me is the Airrag holder so I don’t lose it and being able to use it as a stand at my desk.
I never leave my toothbrush out 🤢
👍
That shower trick has never worked for me :)
NEVER EVER leave your toothbrush expose in the lav. Why ? It could be use to rub things ?????
fair point
Always lock our toothbrushes in the safe. We were ‘warned’ a few years ago 🙈
Not to quibble, but we all bring our wallet, keys, and phone when we go out, disembarking from a cruise isn’t any different than running into town at home. I’ve never been a fan of combining your wallet, keys and phone because if you lose one you lose them all.
fair point
Be careful with that phone holder because with a magnet in it, it will de-magnetise your credit card so you won't be able to swipe your card.
I haven’t had any issue yet! But I’ll let you know.
Would a rfid sleeve fit into 1 of those slots?
Thought that too, credit cards all de-magnetized could really put a damper on your day
All credit cards use chips now, magnets are no longer an issue
I’ve had one for about a year now and I haven’t had a problem with any of my cards.
Who still uses an old toothbrush everybody should be using a Sonicare toothbrush, and those stand on their own
i need to try one of those
Those Sonic ( vibrating toothbrush) will make older fillings fall out if used regularly.. Don’t shoot the messenger ✌🏼
Whats wrong with a plastic toothbrush holder.. it keeps airborne germs from landing on your toothbrush. And you can sanitize them with most mouthwash ✌🏼
@@sunsetrescue7112been using one for 20 years, and I have 50 year old fillings!
So if you lose your phone you’ve lost your wallet too ? I can’t think of a worse nightmare !
Not a big deal..I have all my credit and debit cards on my watch. And back on the ship I have 2 more forms of ID and 3 sets of debit and credit cards. As a full time traveler, I always have backups :)
I will never understand why people want their phones by thier bed unless you are using it as an alarm.
i get that for sure 👍
If there’s an emergency, someone might call you in the middle of the night.
Oh well, this clip only makes you "human"....
awesome! thanks for watching and commenting 🙏
Um no your recommended stuff is not useful. Especially the tooth brush holder
different strokes for different folks 😊 thanks for watching and commenting 🙏
