nah the timeline splits in two

    • @tolstartheking
      @tolstartheking Год назад +85

@@SuperM789 The Mario timeline is a mess, especially if you throw Partners in Time in there along with the remake of Superstar Saga since the side mode contradicts the plot of the main game. Other problems arise with the time travel in Yoshi’s Island DS, the Mushroom Kingdom constantly changing with it sometimes being the grassy green place with trees in Super Mario 64 and Odyssey, and the grassy green place with the weird colorful “hill” things in NSMB 1, 2, Wii, and U. NSMB 1 and 2 are supposedly in the same place except the world maps are different with the final world that was originally half haunted half volcano in NSMB 1 being merged with the ghost trees being on the volcanic landscape in NSMB2. Even MORE inconsistencies include Donkey Kong the first from the arcade Donkey Kong growing old to become known as Cranky Kong while Mario, who appears in the same game, does not age in the slightest. DK island also changed between the old Country games and 64 and the two new games. With all of these in mind, the Mario “timeline” should not be taken seriously in the slightest and we should appreciate the games for what they are rather than over-analyze them to death like I just did.

I think the biggest reason why Tokyo Mirage Sessions never had an English dub (outside of saving money) would be that most of the characters are idols, so they sing.
Getting VAs that can sing and having to pay to have English versions of all of the songs produced likely killed any chance of a dub.

    • @pentexsucks43

I know why the Wii U version of Breath of the Wild pauses when you hit the HOME button. Its because the Wii U only has 2 GB of RAM, typically 1 GB is reserved for games while the other 1 GB is for system functions. Breath of the Wild is such a large game though that it needs both GB of RAM and so it has to push the game into a swap partition in the system memory to bring up the HOME menu. The pause is the game loading back into RAM.

They used every chip on the system to make it work, that's what i think atleast, the chipset on Switch is wildly different, even the registry or references inside of them could be a huge pain to do a port... most Nintendo games are made on a Windows environment, even Pikmin for the Gamecube probably booted natively on a PC, but they do so much testing and configurations for the thing to work like it does on the system, and i imagine the X devs did so much to use every juice that the Wii U could give, that the game would work weird directly on other systems... unless you emulate the Wii U, wich aparently isn't that hard... will the Switch emulate the Wii U eventually?

I didn't get BOTW for Switch until 2021. For years, I only had the Wii U version. The biggest difference for me going to the switch version was having motion controls on the pro controller since I didn't usually use the wii u gamepad to play.

We should all just be thankful that Nintendo brought all these Wii U games to the Switch as they could’ve just left them to the past and still been absolutely fine. I myself skipped the Wii U which is the only Nintendo console I’ve ever skipped. So having them as better versions on the Switch is amazing!

I feel Yoshi's Wooley World is the last great Wii U game not to be be ported (though its a shameMario Maker 2 lacked Amiibo characters and levels like the first). Such a great platformer. Loved Kirby and the Rainbow Curse but that requires touchscreen controls so i understand if it'll never get a port.

It sort of was with the 3DS port. Still don’t understand why they wouldn’t bring it over to Switch. Same for Paper Mario Colour Splash.

I find it funny now how many people complained about WiiU ports on Nintendo Switch, and yet still today there are people begging for more WiiU ports almost every day like the Zelda remasters and Xenoblade X.

47:33 DK Tropical Freeze did that, it was also $20 and they deleted it from the eshop for the Switch release, and said nothing compared to Pikmin 3.
Ok, let's talk a bit about this (I know that you Scott know this but didn't mention it here, this is for the Wii U noobs), all the information i'm saying comes from my head, i might make mistakes but i'm crazy for this.
    - Zelda had an special edition only on Switch.
    - Mario Kart 8 had a promotion with a free game, free online and the DLC packs were $12 if you bought both them together, also the gamepad was used like the handheld dual screen games.
    - Lego City Undercover was reduced to $20 for the Nintendo Selects lineup.
    - Pokken Tournament had version without the amiibo card and looked definitely worse on Wii U, one of the most noticeable of all the ports (besides Hyrule Warriors). Along with its release, there was a controller, the Wii U version was like the arcade, the Switch version was similar but black.
    - On the Bayonetta games, idk, maybe a difference on costumes, i also don't know if they ported the touch controls from the Wii U version. The game just used the gamepad as a second display, if i remember correctly.
    - I already mentioned stuff on DK, forgot to say that it was for the Nintendo Selects thing as well, and that it didn't use the gamepad at all.
    - Hyrule Warriors... i remember being very angry at this, the Wii U version is absolute trash in comparison, that's what i thought until someone told me that the Gamepad had this NES map thing going on and off-TV multiplayer split screen that some people liked, i still don't own this version of the game (also not Pokken btw, but for some reason i know what i said there).
    - Captain Toad is a good play in all 3 systems its in, Scott said everything really, idk if they added more amiibo support on the later releases?
    - NSMBU Deluxe is definitely the worst port, why not add online play? Also, no Boost Mode as Scott said, but also, this mode that no one knows about, Coin edit mode. Lastly, the NSMBU and Luigi U combo on Wii U was given for free with a game, or any version of the system at some retailers. Luigi U was released alone for $40, with a green box, and on the eshop they had the base game and DLC, but then made the combo for $60, and deleted the previous version from the eshop.
    - Tokyo FE thing had an special edition on Wii U, with the soundtrack and an artbook, i don't think there was one for Switch. Almost got the special edition for $20, but i chickened out because the box was a bit damaged, i regret that decision so much.
    - Pikmin 3 has so much on Switch, yet i feel like they made the textures worst for some reason, and i agree on the controls, i really like the touch controls on Wii U though, not coming back from those.
    - Mario 3D World, haven't played on Switch, in fact, none i have, and i don't get the hype for the speed, i have watched videos of it and the game not only looks easier, but broken, the stages weren't designed for that speed. Anyways, the Wii U version was also $20, and with Miiverse alive, you had a Ghost Run mode, were you could compete for the best score, at the time i loved the idea as i was speedrunning 3D Land previously, but the Wii U had many glitches and made the competition un-fun for me, the meta was to learn a repeating move and that was very boring for me. Well, i do want this Switch version, of all the games mentioned, this is the only one that i feel a must to own... but, there's a big but... at the time, i got this game for $60, and now Switch games were i live cost up to $100, and i don't feel like spending that when i have experienced most of what it has to offer... if they release Bowser's Fury alone for $40, that means $65 here, i might give it a shot, but that won't happen, not only does Nintendo like money, but the conversion won't be $65, more like $90, because the stores here suck.
This was a long post, i usually reserve these for a video of my own, take this as DLC for this video if you want, a free DLC pack, maybe in the Switch port of this video, you will have me and Scott doing the video together, but it will have some changes, like for example, there will be a pointer on the screen at all times.

17:00 I'm pretty sure they changed the look of Lego City Undercover to go along with the Lego sets that were releasing at the time.
