Scott's Stash is drifting closer and closer to regular Scott the Woz each day
That seems like the plan now. Scott's Stash replaces what his old content used to be like, and the main channel is for the elaborate stuff. This is honestly one of the best uses of a second channel I've seen, I actually know what the purpose is the content is really solid
I noticed this specifically in THIS Video...
True
Its like what DougDoug did
Nah, the Stash isn't "so random lol" and friends that have negative camera presence.
Ah yes, the Wii U library. Also known as the Nintendo Switch backup library.

29:33 The funniest explanation for this is that Captain Toad Treasure Tracker on Wii U and Switch are not the same events, rather that Toad had to go on this huge almost identical adventure TWICE.
nah the timeline splits in two
@@SuperM789 The Mario timeline is a mess, especially if you throw Partners in Time in there along with the remake of Superstar Saga since the side mode contradicts the plot of the main game. Other problems arise with the time travel in Yoshi’s Island DS, the Mushroom Kingdom constantly changing with it sometimes being the grassy green place with trees in Super Mario 64 and Odyssey, and the grassy green place with the weird colorful “hill” things in NSMB 1, 2, Wii, and U. NSMB 1 and 2 are supposedly in the same place except the world maps are different with the final world that was originally half haunted half volcano in NSMB 1 being merged with the ghost trees being on the volcanic landscape in NSMB2. Even MORE inconsistencies include Donkey Kong the first from the arcade Donkey Kong growing old to become known as Cranky Kong while Mario, who appears in the same game, does not age in the slightest. DK island also changed between the old Country games and 64 and the two new games. With all of these in mind, the Mario “timeline” should not be taken seriously in the slightest and we should appreciate the games for what they are rather than over-analyze them to death like I just did.

It's the reason we don't have Mario Kart 9.
Competing against yourself is bad business.
@@mariokarter13 mario kart tour is mario kart 9
@@SuperM789 Nice of them to repackage Mario Kart 9 as Mario Kart 8 DLC for those of us who never made the switch.
@@SuperM789 A mobile game and a home console game don't directly compete against each other. They even released a Mario Kart game on Switch with actual RC cars because that doesn't directly compete. If you made Minecraft 2, for example, sales of the original Minecraft would slow down considerably because you've just split your player base in half.

Scott is the type of guy who would call a missing feature a mechanic
We gettin Sambucha comments now huh
I mean, having only one item slot changes the mechanics of the game.
I mean with the super horn it makes you choose between keeping a mostly secure item like the shell/banana or hold on to it to wait for a blue shell. Also if you do keep it and use it to avoid a red shell now you dont have defense. You have to think if its worth the spend
Is it a missing feature if the feature was expanded in the next version?
Not a bug, a feature
I really appreciate that Scott has managed to train his poodle well enough to rest 2 game boxes on it for almost an hour without moving.
Just realized the Sheikah Slate is meant to be the WiiU gamepad. Explains why in Tears of the Kingdom, the Purah Pad looks a lot more like an undocked Switch.
It was originally a lot more gamepad focused
The sheikah slate would stay on the GamePad the whole game
@@KaitouKaiju So damn disappointed that the switch version had to ruin the Wii U version so damn hard
@@namelessbag it's not that the switch version ruined it, it was the Wii U's poor sales and aborted support
There was no way the Wii U Gamepad Sheikah Slate wasn’t meant to control Divine Beasts on the fly.
Can’t believe it took you nearly a decade to notice!
I was originally planning to buy BOTW for Wii U. i got to walmart a mere 30 minutes before opening, and that was enough to secure a ticket for a Switch. So instead of just spending $60, i wound up spending something like $500 for console, game, pro controller and an amiibo. Worth it.
Yup, similar story here. I was in line at Best Buy and they had extra tickets + the people in the line convinced me to buy the Switch 🤣
Happy I did, cause I remember it being sold out for a bit after launch
"An Amiibo"
I still haven't found any amiibo that gives you Epona, that's why I just stopped playing it. Doing the final boss on a different horse would just feel wrong, and until I get an unofficial Amiibo card online or something I'm probably not finishing it.
I wanted a Wii U because I wanted Mario Maker, and I wanted a switch because I wanted Mario Maker 2. I bet there’s gonna be another Nintendo console, they’re gonna have Mario Maker 3D, and I’m gonna want it because of that-
Still pissed about the last time I went to a "midnight launch" at Gamestop.

I think the biggest reason why Tokyo Mirage Sessions never had an English dub (outside of saving money) would be that most of the characters are idols, so they sing.
Getting VAs that can sing and having to pay to have English versions of all of the songs produced likely killed any chance of a dub.
I think it's just money. There's a lot of idol anime that is dubbed in English and yet they still have the songs stay in Japanese. It'd be standard if there was 0 English songs. If they actually did re-record in English, that'd be going the extra mile.
That kind of reminds me that many years ago anime opening and ending songs were translated and dubbed into Spanish, many of them being pretty good covers. But since the 2000s that practice kind of stopped, the only recent anime whose songs were translated for the Spanish are Fairy Tail, World Trigger and Dragon Quest the Adventure of Dai
I think the main reason was sales. The game flopped hard even in Japan and Nintendo probably wasn't expecting it to perform well in the West. The Switch version didn't sell great either.
Censoring the game as well in Western Versions.
I mean they could have sung in just Japanese. Oh well.
Tropical Freeze was even more eggregous because it had been released as a Nintendo Selects title and was $20 for years, AND the Wii U version got delisted from the Switch eShop.
I recall that all titles on all of their online storefronts share the same database, so it could've been possible that Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze having the same name could've confused an employee and made them think the Wii U title was an accidental duplicate (considering the game has the same title on the switch)
@@Sean-D78 excuses for Nintendo
@@-aexc- nah I'm just imagining a scenario that could've happened, honestly think Nintendo are scumbags but words aren't gonna stop them from profiting heavily off of anti-consumer practices.

Yep even Cemu let’s you do it
I've never seen Mario Kart abbreviated as MK (not saying it hasn't been done, I just never seen it). So thought at first you were talking about fucking Mortal Kombat, lol
Wii U games that haven't been ported to Switch:
* Super Mario Maker 1
* Splatoon 1
* Paper Mario Color Splash
* Wind Waker HD
* Twilight Princess HD
* Nes Remix 1 & 2
* Nintendo Land
* Game & Wario
* Star Fox Zero
* Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
* Xenoblade Chronicles X
* Yoshi's Woolly World
* Devil's Third
And we can't forget Scott's personal favorites: Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis Ultra Smash.
Well, some are re-releases, one got completed on Switch and another got a 3DS port.
Still cool list, still playing the system.
What about Devil's Third though? lol
@@schimnesthaisbasement5015 I added it.
Why add Splatoon 1 but not Smash 4??
Kind of a fun fact: You can still play as Blue Toad in NSMBD, it needs to be activated through a little command, but idk if you can play both as Yellow and Blue Toad at the same time
I dont think you can. From what i tried, im pretty sure you can't
You can’t play as both, so SOMEONE has to be toadette!
Am I the only one who thinks Scott could make an INCREDIBLY good podcast?? I know I’d listen to it, and that’s basically what these videos are.
I mean yes, but like you said that's basically what these are. I honestly don't even watch RUclips videos most of the time, I just put em on in the background of whatever I'm doing and just listen too them
@@UltimateTS64 But it’s easier to listen to it if it’s a podcast. You can turn off your device while you listen to it. He could have the videos (which will most likely do better) and then also have the podcast for those who want it. Just an idea though. I think I’d be more likely to listen to his podcast over watching the video, because I wouldn’t have time to watch it.
Was just thinking this. I’m tired of sticking my phone in my pocket with the screen open just to listen to Scott when I’m out walking my dog. I refuse to pay for RUclips premium though.

@@turtleshrugged164 how about youtube revanced, it has that background play for free, oh and before anyone points out that it blocks ads you can whitelist channels that are actually deserving of the ad revenue like this one, also it has a feature that skips the ads themselves after 5 seconds
As an avid LEGO fan, you have no idea how happy I was when they announced the LEGO City Undercover ports. It was one of the first LEGO games I skipped out on just because I didn't have a Wii U, and finally having a chance to play it was sweet.
As for the cosmetic changes I have an idea why they did that. Chase McCain has continued to appear in LEGO content since the game came out, including multiple set releases and I think he even shows up in their new TV show. The new outfit was one of the newer updated figures they made to give collectors more incentive to buy their 50th LEGO cop car.
I am shocked and appalled that Scott not only played Tokyo Mirage Sessions, but also liked it.
It's a very great game lol, I wish it had much more recognition. The soundtrack and characters are excellent. Still hoping for a sequel, even though I doubt it'll happen
@@pentexsucks43 I'm still hoping for a proper English localization that actually translates battle dialogue.
Meanwhile, I just wanted an official uncensored version being released in the west =/
@@mestremiller1805 why official? Mods are perfectly fine, also the censorship is extremely small in comparison to other things Nintendo has censored, I was confused why TMS had so much controversy over it
His DLC for it got stolen though 😂
Kinda surprised that the Wonderful 101 Remastered wasn't talked about. It was one of the more unique Wii U games that suddenly got a remaster, and to other platforms, no less, right when most people thought it was a Nintendo-owned IP.
Yeah, I was wondering where it was. Hella RUclipsrs got sponsored by it too.
I know why the Wii U version of Breath of the Wild pauses when you hit the HOME button. Its because the Wii U only has 2 GB of RAM, typically 1 GB is reserved for games while the other 1 GB is for system functions. Breath of the Wild is such a large game though that it needs both GB of RAM and so it has to push the game into a swap partition in the system memory to bring up the HOME menu. The pause is the game loading back into RAM.
Mario 3D World+Bowser's Fury became my favorite Mario game and 1 of my favorite games of all time for just being pure fast paced non-stop fun.
One of the funniest things about the 3DS version of Treasure Tracker are the Odyssey levels, it’s so mindbending to see super Mario odyssey levels on a 3DS
Back then I used to carry the Wii U with me everywhere I go and bring it to people's houses for those who are unable to find a Wii U and we played together.
Same. It was fun knowing we were one of the few who had a Wii U and brought it over to peoples houses.
Its so weird, i remember some conventions having a Wii U in a room and people being very curious about it. Also, i went to a friends birthday, who collects PlayStation, and even though 5 had released and he was about to buy it later on that year, we were playing Wii U emulated on a gamer PC that another friend brought.
@@schimnesthaisbasement5015 I’m not even remotely caught up with PlayStation and Xbox. Scott’s videos are basically all I know about them.

The main thing on Nintendo's side is that many of these games sold more on the Switch then there was hardware on the Wii U side. Makes me wonder if the system did better how well these games would had done if the Wii U it'self had done better in general.
I always thought it was nice BotW got released on both consoles, I couldn’t afford a switch at launch and I was able to experience! Fun seeing it run on Wii U again.

You know, Scott, if you enjoy making videos like this, make these videos. These are great. I feel as though you may have set a standard too high for your main channel. This could be why you aren’t uploading there hardly ever nowadays since you want everything there to be so great. We all appreciate these videos.
I still get the feeling the Scott the Woz channel will probably be retired after he finishes up the Wii U saga of videos. I feel like most of his passion now comes the Scott’s Stash video (which have been really good), which also gets updated frequently to the point where the YT algorithm will recommend more Scott’s Stash videos than it does Scott the Woz videos. Scott’s Stash feels more like the main channel while Scott the Woz feels like the secondary that’s updated once in a blue moon.
There's still three great Wii U games that haven't been ported over, for some stupid, inane reason - Twilight Princess HD, The Wind Waker HD, and Xenoblade Chronicles X.
If those were to release on the Switch, not only would there be no point to owning a Wii U (outside of Virtual Console, if you bought stuff before the eShop shutdown), but the Switch would have _every_ Xenoblade game, and *finally* get some amazing 3D Legend of Zelda games.

@@lucasdellamaggiore Yeah I wish as well but with how big the world was for X and the amount of rework they'd need for the gamepad features its probably better to just hold it off as a year 1 Switch Successor game than release it this very late into the lifecycle.
They used every chip on the system to make it work, that's what i think atleast, the chipset on Switch is wildly different, even the registry or references inside of them could be a huge pain to do a port... most Nintendo games are made on a Windows environment, even Pikmin for the Gamecube probably booted natively on a PC, but they do so much testing and configurations for the thing to work like it does on the system, and i imagine the X devs did so much to use every juice that the Wii U could give, that the game would work weird directly on other systems... unless you emulate the Wii U, wich aparently isn't that hard... will the Switch emulate the Wii U eventually?

Fascinating thing about MK8 assisted driving: most kids now play with the settings on. So when I brought in Mario Kart Wii for my students to play, they all immediately went off the edge or got turned around since the game isn’t steering for them
That's... Kinda sad... I'm reminded of what Scott said in his MK8 Deluxe video. "I'm worried about how Smart Steering and Acceleration will affect the driving abilities of our youth" and then cuts to Scott sitting in his parked car yelling "Go!"
@@CStars55 I mean, it’s funny that he’s kinda right. I think it’s mostly cause the features are automatically on and most kids don’t notice to turn them off. It just means they are at a mega disadvantage without them. Growing up with Mario Kart DS, I certainly didn’t have the problem when I was their age.
That's pretty funny actually
@@AkameGaKillfan777 That's pretty sad...
I find these types of modes to be kind of insulting. Let the kids figure out the driving, don't have a setting that does most of the work for them. Sure, some might turn it off after using it for a while, but it's really easy to grown complacent and expect it in other racing games.
Bowser’s Fury is extremely underrated. People often ask when the next 3D Mario game will come out, forgetting an entirely new one released in 2021. It might not be as robust as Odyssey or 3D World, but it’s a fully fleshed out game nevertheless and does lots of new and cool things.
it's like four hours. it quenched the thirst for the Odyssey DLC people had been wanting for years, but a new game it is not.

Still no ports of Star Fox Zero and Xenoblade X
The 3D world port will always hold a special place in my heart. I remember picking this up right after it came out in 2021 and absolutely adoring it. My girlfriend who I had been doing long distance with at the time ended up picking it up as well and we would spend hours on end playing this together everyday over the phone via online play. This game was so monumental for us especially since Covid at the time had still been raging on very strongly so this gave us something fun to do over the phone. We're finally living a normal life together now as we aren't doing long distance anymore but I always look back at this game with great memories. For those who haven't played this game yet I highly suggest as its just an overall good time
I definitely felt ripped off after owning a Wii U and getting a switch, waiting for switch games to be released that I already had on the shelf.
For some reason Wii U Switch ports make me feel like I wasted money on my Wii U.
This video brought me back to a memory I had long forgotten: Playing Lego City Undercover as a kid and waiting AGES (in kid time) with my brother during the loading screens.
I played BotW on Wii U at first because I got hold of a completely legal digital version of it almost two weeks before launch.
Interesting take on Captain Toad - I just realized that they may have released it too soon. Should've at least waited until the Lite was out and promoted it as a handheld game primarily, not changing the ending and having Labo support from the start.
Yes😂
That was pretty shitty of Nintendo to expect for the Wii U owners to rebuy the same near-identical games for the Switch at full price, rather than a discount upgrade prices.
I know I’m a year late but that’s not what they expected, they expected the people that played the games not to get them and the other 100 MILLION people to be able to play fantastic games that got released on a commercial failure, and they knew it would make them money! Win-win as far as I see it. They did do the Wii U owners dirty tho, you should have been able to trade in or at least “upgrade” your Wii U versions to the switch ones.
One thing to mention as well is that some games, like Donkey Kong, not only were 50 dollars at launch, went to nintendo selects, bringing them down to 20 dollars. Searching the game on the website when the switch version arrived would give you the game on wii u for 20 and the switch version for 60
And during the launch of the Switch version I temporarily delisted the games on Wii U eShop 😅.
I was very resilient on buying Mario Kart 8 again but just like you said, when the new tracks were announced, I just couldn't fight it anymore. At least I got the base port on discount for waiting that long!
I will not stand for DKC Tropical Freeze slander. Goated game
Nevermind Scott called it one of the greatest games, we're back
I find it funny now how many people complained about WiiU ports on Nintendo Switch, and yet still today there are people begging for more WiiU ports almost every day like the Zelda remasters and Xenoblade X.
I was that person who was STOCKED to see Tokyo Mirage Sessions come to Switch. I wanted a Wii U for Bayonetta 2 and TMS, so when they both came over I was stocked. The music in that game is incredible and I loved all the characters. Would love to see them do something like this again.
I have the BotW for Wii U even though I know I will never play it. Preservation's sake. 😅
Thank you for the stash uploads man, i like the longer videos, I work from home on a computer and this is a great thing to watch while working

That game bricked like a thousand consoles lol
It’s sad that the wii u has almost no exclusives bec nintendo just put everything decent on the switch. At least it has twilight princess hd and wind waker hd. Also it’s kinda messed up that they didn’t use the gamepad for breath of the wild even though it’d have been so easy to do.
I can’t stand when people say that ports on Switch make the Wii U irrelevant. If anything it only makes the Wii U MORE relevant because it’s games are cheaper and live on years later because of how well these games hold up.
The games being cheaper on Wii U won't last. In 5-6 years, the Wii U will be the new Sega Saturn.
@@Marc_Araujo I'm already seeing that and i'm scared.
Ian, you should be happy that many games from your favorite will get more love by being in more consoles!

Kind of true
I feel like this totally coulda been a main channel video
Dude your videos get better and better, loving the Wii U content this week
They made it so easy for me to sell my wii u lol. Pretty much all games were available on the switch. I was ok this
dam, i remember pouring 1000 hours into breath of the wild on the wii u gamepad, crazy how the world on the wii u is still going strong in 2023
hey scott i just wanted to let you know that the day this video was uploaded (a few days ago now) was on my 3 years of being a fan so i just wanted to say thankyou for everything all the entertainment and fun memories over the past few years and i can't wait to see what comes next in the upcoming season!!!
Oh man. I really can't wait for that new video to drop. It's always a good day when Scott uploads
I really like this channel! It gets straight to talking about games. I like the skits and comedy, but it's nice to just hear straight gamer talk lol
The Wii U really got screwed with its BotW release.
The Wii U died so the NX could live. Wii U, you were too beautiful for this world.
Apparently they didn't go wild enough because my Wii U is still my Xenoblade X machine.
I’m really looking forward to the new full-blown Scott the Woz but until that time I’m happy with these videos!
We should all just be thankful that Nintendo brought all these Wii U games to the Switch as they could’ve just left them to the past and still been absolutely fine. I myself skipped the Wii U which is the only Nintendo console I’ve ever skipped. So having them as better versions on the Switch is amazing!
As a previous Wii U owner, when Switch games came out because they were all Wii U games. Like, they made jump to the Switch only to pay $50 or so bucks to play games I played previously. I homebrewed the shit out of my switch after that disgrace and I had some fun, although I find Switch library to be a little boring except for a few gems. Wii U and 3DS era had very good games.
I feel Yoshi's Wooley World is the last great Wii U game not to be be ported (though its a shameMario Maker 2 lacked Amiibo characters and levels like the first). Such a great platformer. Loved Kirby and the Rainbow Curse but that requires touchscreen controls so i understand if it'll never get a port.
Wind Waker HD, Twilight Princess HD and Xenoblade Chronicles X say hi
It sort of was with the 3DS port. Still don’t understand why they wouldn’t bring it over to Switch. Same for Paper Mario Colour Splash.
Great topic that's finally being talked about by scott. Love it! Keep up the the good work!
" the fourth player will always be kinda bored"
Bold of you to assume I have four friend to play with
I only bought Mario Kart 8 Deluxe after the dlc announcement, otherwise there's no hay I'm giving 60 bucks to nintendo for games I've played
I bought Tokyo Mirage Sessions on Switch as a big Fire Emblem fan who had never played a MegaTen game, and I loved it. It’s VERY anime which isn’t usually for me, but the combat and mechanics were excellent. Great game.
Nabbit has more playable appearances in canon games than Princess Daisy 😑
Daisy is in Mario Wonder!
All of the DLC booster tracks definitely make it worth it for Mario Kart 8 deluxe
This^ so I said ok now it’s worth to play that
Zelda is the one game I completely forgot was even on the Wii U
To me, BotW is a Wii U game, since that's what I & a buddy of mine played it on. I didn't care to buy a "handheld" console, the Switch at the time. Even after I got a Switch I refuse to buy any ports, almost feel cheated by Nintendo because of it.
Been watching Scott the Woz channel for years now & just discovered this.
I just picked up a Wii u for the reason of getting all the switch ports for way cheaper than the switch versions as well as modding
@@CommanderMouse72 Awesome! I remember getting a Wii U in part so I could play Wii games since I never had one.
@@Tetsu9701 the Wii BC is also why I got a U, native hdmi Wii without hardware mods or adapters, play all my old Wii games on a modern tv,
They sell MK8 separately?? Mine came with it pre-installed.
They come with it pre-installed?? I've only ever seen the disc. To be fair though, I can probably count on 1 hand the amount of Wii U's I've actually seen
@@HeftyDan idk. I bought the wiiu deluxe.
As someone who has only ever played BoTW on Wii U, I find it very odd that people... find it odd that it was a Wii U game
Truth be told I played BotW on the Wii U and Wii U only
No reason to own both since Nintendo doesn’t give achievements on their games the Nintendo Switch is more comfortable to play on then on the Wii U maybe when Nintendo starts giving achievements they will be worth buying the same game over again the only games worth buying over again are games like Pac-Man
