Fun Fact: Yoko Shimomura composed Vega's Stage theme, as well as most of Street Fighter II's OST. Unfortunately, due to Capcom's crediting policies back then, she had to use a pseudonym, thus not getting any credit for creating possibly one of the most well known music themes of all VG.
At least now she was able to come back after so long and be properly credited.

Only the composer of the original theme could have the balls to trade flemish guitar for a violin and completely nail it. While giving us a VERY small touch of it, just so we don't miss the original instrument.
Seriously, this is another level entirely.
I love how Don Flamenco is the one spirit from Punch-Out who has a track from outside his series, and it’s this. Brilliant.

I'm glad they kept the tempo of Vega's theme from the OG SF2. The later iterations slowed down too much and lost the "oh crap, I'm locked in a cage with a beautiful psychopath" feeling

I think with Kazuya Mishima, Devil Kazuya, Brawl's rendition of Final Destination, and One Winged Angel also being in the game, that's pretty debatable.

Street Fighter 2 is not only one of the greatest fighting game OSTs of all time, its one of the most iconic OSTs overall!
Well just to let you know this is most certainly a remix with real instruments. You can look up the old school 16 bit version tho.
@@juanogando1901I listened to the original pretty much out of curiosity and it's crazy how good it is for the sound hardware. Japanese game music composers in the 80's just went crazy and made it work on the consoles of the time as best as they could.

He may use his claw but also uses lots of kicks and grabs, some characters like Rolento or Poison just use weapons 75% of the time

The fact that you can hear Issac Albeniz’s “Asturias” in the beginning since Vega is Spanish is amazing.

Me sorprende el nivel de los japoneses para que creen música que suene muy española
Pero se nota el toque nipon. Tienen un ritmo muy marcado en hacer notar el pulso y el ritmo. No es un sonido suave y propio de, como ejemplo, la música flamenca. No digo que esté mal (para nada) pero fíjate como el tema se divide en dos. En el fondo suena un pulso y ritmo MUY marcados y encima los arreglos son más suaves, pero siguen siendo apurados por el mismo fondo.
Tal vez contratan españoles o tienen maestros españoles para darle esos toques

Man, I remember when this came up on the smash bros site before the release, the hype was crazy for this game.
Shimomura's modern style transfixed on one of her earlier tracks surely bangs
listening to this, i can only imagine a kingdom hearts fight against gaming's favorite clawed spaniard (specifically based around his top tier super turbo self), or hell, even a mario & luigi optional boss
for real the song is a masterpiece, it's gave me chills

Edit: in SF6 i mean, lol. Would be great but unlikely to have him in Smash. There are a few more characters that are more likely like Chun-Li or Guile.

Tbf as an sf who have heard all vèga themes this is by far the best one,if vèga returns in sf6 i wonder what they'll do to him most importantly his theme

This one's good, but the Street Fighter V version of Vega's theme is THE definitive version. Dam that version slaps so hard go check it out and compare for yourselves

I'd say THIS is the definitive one, actually. Yoko Shimomura wrote this piece, and she came back after nearly 25 years and remade it to sound how she'd always imagined it. This is what we were meant to hear all those years ago but the technology didn't allow it.

I have to say, if Street Fighter gets a next rep in the next game, I'd vote for M. Bison. Having Guile or Chun-li would be cool too, but I like to play as villains aswell. And yes, Akuma is also beloved in the community, but he kinda fights like Ryu and Ken, and with M. Bison you create more diversity imo. Also, I really would like a costume swap between SF2 Bison and SF5 Bison.
Well, I think that Vega would be easy to adapt in Smash; I mean, he is very acrobatic and most of his moves includes jumps.
We own the entire OST of SF 2 (except 3 themes I have no idea which ones) To Yoko shimomura.
To think that all this time I praised Uematsu Over Yoko when In reality she has done more iconic music than him (for me at least but I only got to know her for her KH work) in reality They Both were always there from the start but Yoko being a woman was a huge handicap for her (Japan..wtf)
