    All current research points to best gains when muscle is stretched. Which is stretching more. Butt to calves or sitting in a chair position?

      You are absolutely correct in that understanding. We're not putting down the back squat by any means - as mentioned in the video, we primarily use this on deload weeks to train a similar stimulus of intensity but decrease range of motion (stretch), thus facilitating more recovery in that particular week.
