Nice video Troy , also to help keep the picks from slipping off I use a small dab of bees wax on my fingers . Also I use it when I’m using a flat pick too ! 👍
Troy, I play pedal steel more than lapsteel and I like the Propick Reso fingerpicks. They have an angled blade which puts my hand in a better position to play. Also the single band is better for me. Great videos and info.
Omg.......... I've been wearing these the wrong way the whole time😂😂I wore it with the the pick at the top of my finger instead of it being at the bottom😂 This way is way more comfortable😂
Hey Troy thanks for all that info on these picks... I've used Propik #2's single wrap style for several years now for steel guitar. I find Propiks to be the best for comfort and fit for me. They fit well but it does look these double wraps might be just a little more comfortable, so I'd like to give them a try. I am a little concerned about them cracking as you point out in the video however. Can you give me some idea as to how long they might last before starting to crack? I usually spend a couple hours a day on the steel.
Oh ok thanks. That's really not bad at all. I already ordered a couple to try along with some more thumbpicks, so far I'm finding them pretty comfortable, a little less "squeezing" sensation on the fingers. Thanks again for reviewing these.
*Sometimes I say Blade when I meant to say "BAND".
Yikes Troy, they're $7 in 2022. Thanks for all your great videos and advice

I sand the tip down a little to stick out on Dunlop medium thumb pick
I intend to try these split band picks. What is the difference in the 1, 2 and 3 blade styles?

zookies on Deering also???? what is the length of the pick part of the zookies??? thanks
I don't think so. www.Elderly.com has them I think.
Hi Troy, what's different between the blade #1, #2, and #3? Thanks
I think it has to do with the roundness/sharpness of the tip.
Hey Troy why don't you use the actual reso picks from propik?
I never really liked the angle of those picks. Just prefer the straight ones.
buy them over Wish or AliExpress. You get 3-fingers+thumb pick set for less then $2...

I mean it's too bad you didn't play your guitar (or any instrument) with the picks in this video, just to hear how they sound
