So these guys have been allegedly towing cars illegally for years and they’re only being investigated now because of insurance fraud? The question is, why were they allowed to stay in business for so long with so many complaints against them?
They were probably only ever investigated because a tik tok caught them in the act and blew up

I had a neighbor back in the 70’s that would buy salvage title super cars and insure them as clean title cars in Arizona call them in stolen and collect big dollars they had done several before insurance investigators showed up at our / their condo complex and interviewed all neighbors asking if we had seen XYZ cars in their parking spots . Insurance investigators are the best detectives they make the police detectives look bad.

@@MyNamelsClarence Hell no i eventually was in a band with these New Yorker neighbors they had prepped me that i might be asked a few questions and of course they supplied the answers but i was never actually asked but my neighbor in my Town Home place was maybe the Insurance detectives were aware who knew who at our Complex.Let me be clear these saps went to jail briefly one more so than the other and later swapped wives and my friend ended up super bummed because his wife liked the Singer in this one record band and left him with their 8 year old daughter going with mom to the singers House to live permanently. Anyway as they say Cocaine is a hell of a Drug and Free Base was the worst. Luckily for me its never been my thing as i mostly preferred downers lol.

That’s how the towing manager trained them to do, the towing manager that offered the tow driver the job told him, if you don’t tow a moving car at a traffic light, you will be fired and replaced by another job candidate for $15 an hour, he got bills to pay so he obeyed and accepted the job and now he is doing what he got to do

The local tow truck drivers would go downtown during the forth of july and tow every car not perfectly parked
They had been doing it for years and everyone in town was mad about it .
Then they towed a city councilman's car and charged him $600 to get his car back ....

Investigations take time and resources. FBI moved because they were ready. It may also have been the City was asked to postpone action until the FBI got a bit more evidence on their case. Many things are possible.

It seems for me towing truckers can seize your car and you have to pay to get it back and the police force is doing nothing about it.... I was a victim several time and reasonable where I put. It in good area instead of giving me tickets. Mostly they do it to poor government housing area. They doing it to every country that people can fight elderly area. If they don’t pick it out pay for it they sell it their self They took my car the one that was by my house. They didn’t put the sign until the morning, but they said they put it that day earlier and they told my car when we spend , almost $900 to take it out

As a former tow truck operator, I have to agree. We hardly made any money since we operated honestly. The only reason we kept the towing portion of the business is it supplemented the body shop portion of the company I worked for.
I wouldn't have my car towed without myself being present the entire time. If you don't have room for me, then you don't have room for my car. They absolutely go through your car.

What took them so long? After seeing the video that showed one of their drivers trying to hook up a car in traffic with people in it, they should have been shut down that day.

If you are going to put them out of business, you need to confiscate the tow trucks, too. No license doesn’t mean no towing.
The tow trucks will get repo’d and will go up at equipment auctions. And it won’t just be those, they’ll go after all the other units parked at their other locations including their heavy wreckers and transport trucks too. They’ll take every piece of equipment until there is none left.

i was once homeless and between jobs (waiting for the next to start and no housing was available anywhere) and had my car stolen by a tow company with all my stuff in it. never managed to get it back. something ill never forgive for the rest of my life.

Federal oversight was taken away about 30 years ago in a SCOTUS ruling for UPS trucking that made it a state oversight issue which included towing regulations in the language.

Lots of these companies. I had one try and take my car from my apartment complex. They only let it go after me and all my neighbors came out and surrounded the criminals.

We had a local company tried to steal my brother's car because a plate was stolen and it was on the street. He saw us recording and left. We caught another guy towing cars our apartment. Turns out management hadn't called them.
