My favourite book aswell! Love the way she writes! I feel like only women can truly understand it, i mean.. i cried sometimes when i read it, not necessarily because it was sad but beacause she puts words to feelings i never thought could be described, and it just hits me so hard. Its just so good.. and i loved your review!
I'm so happy I found your channel! We have similar reading tastes, but I'm also sure you will be introducing me to books not on my radar. I love that you read and highlight so many backlist books. I'm also enjoying going back and watching some of your older videos - Jane Eyre is one of my all time favorites too!
Can’t you do a series on your other 297 reasons why you loved Jane Eyre? It’s my favorite book too and the points you made were very thoughtful! Plus again: the color coordinated Make-up with the jacket 😍😍😍
Hi Mara! I've watched your channel for about a year now and finally decided to read Jane Eyre, it's just one of those classics I never got around to reading in school so I didn't bother. But, hearing often it was your favorite I decided to go ahead. And it's so good, I read it in only two days not only because of the extra time in quarantine but because it's that engrossing. Thank you so much for talking about it, it's never too much to gush about your favorite book. Now off to read The Remains of the Day.
I just found your channel and love hearing you talk about books! I have to confess that I'm a former Jane Eyre hater. The only encounter I had with it (that I have memory of) was the 2011 movie. After it ended I just sat there and thought, "I don't even care that she came back." In my opinion, the tone of the movie was totally devoid of passion and humor, which totally contradicted what they were actually saying. Then with the quarantine and wanting to watch a new period piece I put on the 2006 mini series and fell in love with the characters. Sorry this is so long but what I want to say is, that series made me buy a Penguin cloth bound edition and I read the book in a week (thats fast for me). Charlotte Bronte's writing drew me in and I can't wait to read her other stories!
I am surprised you chose that monologue, I thought you were going to chose the one when R is proposing. I think the one you chose really gets to the heart of the book and why Jane is so special and why this book is so different from so many that try to be and fail. Wonderful!
This is my favorite book also, and I have the wrist tattoo to prove it 😁 Oddly enough my tattoo is based on the specific cover used in this thumbnail lol. you look way cute with your hair up, and I love your first point.
The passage you read - yes, it is my favourite passage and it resonated with me so powerfully the first time I read it, and every time ever since.

Glad you found me-- always happy to encounter fellow lovers of Jane Eyre :)
Thanks for the great review. My favorite book of all time also!

I fully agree with all your points! I feel like Jane Eyre is such a great book that all young women should read ❤️

This makes my little heart sing! So glad you gave her a second chance :)
1983 adaptation is my favourite, the second one is 1973. there are other five I enjoyed. I refused to watch 2011.
I finally ordered Jane Eyre yesterday and after watching and hearing your opinion on it, it is now on top of my TBR. Thank you si much. 🥰
