This is feels like a goodbye, to their own selfs and a goodbye to their childhood, because they will have to go even further. This sums up Mikasa, Eren and Armins hopes and dreams, in one song.

Still don't get all the hate for this opening. Yes, it's nothing like linked horizon, but that doesn't make it a bad song in any way. The song is really good and beautiful actually. And yes I would've wanted a linked horizon opening as well but they can't really make an hype opening if the focussed arc itself doesn't have that much action and is mostly character development and about the political system etc. The next arc is definitly going to have a hype opening because of the arc itself. My point is that you shouldn't judge the opening because you haven't seen anything like this for AoT yet. Beautiful cover btw Fonzi

There’s something heartbreaking to those repeating notes. It’s heartbreaking but you don’t why. You feel hopeful, sad and yet you feel angry. All the emotions are being thrown at you and then the next part it’s more subtle and you fall again into a much depressing state.
Pretty much overwhelmed. Still the best opening for me even if the other openings got me hyped.

This was written by Yoshiki ft. hyde who is the late guitarist of X-Japan, a japanese metal group who disbanded in 1993. Some time after disband, the guitarist died. As far as I know the song was not published until AOT, so I doubt hyde took part in the writing. It's probably more of a tribute.
So yeah, regret despair sadness.

Bro I can’t remember the last time I was this obsessed over a song
before season three, two of the things i looked forward to the most in the new season was the original soundtrack and the opening. when i heard this, i was a little disappointed. but the more i watched it, the more emotional i got. now i can’t help but cry every time this intro plays. i think it works perfectly for the series and this arc 💕💕

«I'll seize the roses... with my wings» is my favorite part. This song has beautiful images, the red swan (I suppose bleeding) singing, flying, falling before death. The most beautiful and pure being (ideal maybe) and its twisted meaning, like the kamikaze, their last desperate sing seeking beauty, taking lives in their hands y sacrificing them. I used to think the goddess was Historia but maybe not? Is Eren for an all or nothing bet? Is he just taking care of her? Definitely my favorite opening, the hyms were frauds very inspirational, I feel them but it was free spirited.

im super damn late for this but i really don’t get why this intro gets so much criticism for not being quick-paced or like the other intros because its literally meant to reflect what is happening in the episodes it opens for. this intro made me so excited and emotional because finally we could get to see the characters beyond being a survey corp, cause even though being a survey corp is a huge part of who they are its not all of what they are. all in all the way the characters were portrayed in s3 pt1 makes me love and understand them even more and i’m glad that’s something the showrunners let us have.
This theme song for me is the best opening you can get for an anime. It’s so beautiful and elegant! It reminds me how good Attack on Titan. It helps me sleep sometimes! This is nothing like Hiroyuki Sawano or Linked Horizon but this is just plain beautiful. It feels so relaxing and it maybe nothing like the other Hype openings but for me, this is the best opening. It has everything I want!
