      He died because he hung himself because he had lewy body dementia of which suicide is an actual cause of death for that disease, my dad has it and its horrendous to watch someone go through, I think he was 5 years sober by the time he died

    • @kurfsolb
      @kurfsolb Месяц назад

      @@domissavvy I think that diagnosis was what finally broke him. He realized he's losing his mind and memory, therefore he won't be able to do his job he loved.

    • @domissavvy
      @domissavvy Месяц назад

      @@kurfsolb he wasn't actually diagnosed until after he died which is what's tragic because he probably felt as you described without knowing why. There's a really good documentary on him and Lewy Body Dementia worth looking at it's quite sad

    This is simultaneously funny and very sad. He knew what he was talking about. What a sweet soul anyway.

    Underneath the humour there is a very real warning. Sanity is a precious gift - respect yourself.

    Maybe it's because I'm tired, but for some reason I got the feeling he didn't want to talk about it and hid it behind a wall of humour?

      he always did psychologist at a comedy club that implemented just after his death basically said the same thing

    • @janorhypercleats
      @janorhypercleats 4 года назад +11

      Yes, I've read several books about him. Apparently, he was hiding behind a wall of humor--no one knows who he really was! I saw an interview he did on Dennis Miller he said he had "veritaphobia"--fear of "what is". I met him in san Francisco once--he was very funny, but also very insecure and needy. I saw an interview with Bob Zmuda, he said as long as there was a group of people around Robin would do his improvisational comedy. If it was just the two of them, Robin was very awkward. He didn't really know how to NOT "be on".

      Erm, I think to start with you'd have been absolutely correct, but over the years he approached the topic in his live shows and seemed to enjoy talking about his battles with addiction.
