I googled Mari and she is a year older than I. All I can say is what the hell happened to me 🤦♀️ Mari is gorgeous with a voice to match! Now excuse me while I online shop for the magic face cream to roll back the years.
Thank you, Leland, for bringing us Mari on this beautiful day❣️. What an incredible voice. It's always amazing to see an artists beginnings and history, and learn how they got to where they "made it" in the industry. Your positivity and enthusiasm is an inspiration, will always keep you young. Stay safe everyone 🤗 and have a super rest of your Saturday 👍😉☀️
I remember the first time I saw you way back when you first started playing with Phil Collins. I thought "Who is that Rasputin like looking character?". Yep, time flies. I sometimes see a picture of my dad, at least I think I do, but then it turns out to be my own reflection. Mari has a great voice!
So sorry bout the drive across town early morn. . .all will work out. . . .it's a busy, busy time of the year. . . .thank you so much for the intro to Mari Hamada! :) The seasons of our lives are precious, Leland. Always fun and interesting to hear the music you've played, and the behind the scenes stories and history. Mari is no exception- what a talented artist. Thank you 🙏 Be good to you!
Mari Hamada is another artist I know very little about and today’s selection of tracks exude a powerful sound from all involved. At the risk of sounding presumptuous I think Lee would go stir crazy if he wasn’t busy and, I for one am so grateful he takes the time each day to bring us these diverse tracks from his illustrious career!
Love this!!! She's SO great. I really enjoy the music of hers that you have shared before so I was jazzed to hear these tracks! She has a sweet voice that rocks! Would love to experience this music "live" .. really great! "I Have A Story To Tell" .. killer! Beautiful and powerful.👍🎶🧨🌠 (p.s. My brother looked like you in 1975! )
Many thanks Leland for working with Mari for such a long time your music is always great!! I really look forward to more new albums from Mari, especially the forthcoming album and I believe the 40th anniversary album!!! Have a good day, stay safe and healthy :)
Even before you mentioned Live In Front Of A Studio Audience, I already set my dvr to record it. So glad you're involved. Now it's guaranteed to be a quality project!
Thank you for this, Lee. Loved hearing Mari when you introduced me to her on an earlier video. It's so cool hearing music from different parts of the globe and seeing and feeling its unifying power. Best of luck with your upcoming live shows at Sony - going to be fun!
Sounds great Lee. I have a number of her CDs, including the first 2 which seem to be getting pretty hard to find. Some of the other early ones, too. I do have a few later ones including the one you played the songs from today.
Glad you’re featuring her again, she’s fantastic. Love the band, and of course the bass is awesome. Pace yourself, with all you have going on…and stay safe🖕
YES LEE I too have turned WHITE as well, but I remember the brown days & saw you many times way back when. I even remember seeing you on video when you picked out the body of FRANKENSTEIN !
Hey, Lee and everyone! Talk about how the years roll! There is a joke I like to tell about any picture of me. The audience that understands the joke gets smaller each year, especially among my high school students. While showing a class my school photo on picture return day, I tend to say something like, "much better than the picture down at the post office." It used to get more laughs when people knew what a person's photo at a post office meant.
You don't stop much Lee! A brain scratch the first thing in the morning. One way to wake up! Another would be a dentist appointment for a filling early in the day. In any event, thanks for the visit! Love Mari!! Have a great day young feller 🖕!!
I like watching her first trip to LA. to get to work with Jeff P and Steve L and Tim Pierce to name a few!!! That is a good video to check out. Lee may have been there too or probably I can't remember lol
Hi Lee. Mari is absolutely great !. That second track really got me. The melody is very powerful and when she hit that high note it sent a bolt of energy like electricity through me. Such is the power of music. There's nothing like it. Great tracks, Thanks again as always Lee.
Ya know.... You could be that old fart with the scissors in the back yard just by saying "no".... There are a butt ton of us, both musicians and fans (and those who are both) who are glad you have chosen to continue putting out music for us to learn from, though...

Hey Lee, I think you can get a PCR test at just about any pharmacy now with a 24 hour turn around. However google and look for the Pixel PCR test. They'll mail it directly to your home and you mail it back and login to their site and get your test results. It's quick and easy. Good luck with the show! P.S. mask up because this new Omnicron variant is almost as contagious as the measles. Which is three times more contagious then the Delta.
@@lelandsklar6363 Yes, I see. Hopefully in the very near future they'll develop a home PCR kit that's super accurate with instant results. Anyway, have a great time playing the upcoming show! Happy Holidays!
👋👋 Many interesting topics today! We noticed somebody tuning guitars beside the stage (at your Coach House show) with some sort of electronic technology we'd never seen before. And we noticed that all of you had the "new" tuners. Interesting to have some idea of how they work. Also ironic for us because I just struck a blow for the early 20th century by going on eBay to replace the 70s era pitch pipe that disappeared when I made the mistake of putting my guitar in storage for a few months (and wound up having it stolen). I figure that now, when the computer in the electronic keyboard seems to be doing something unexpected, I'll have some chance of figuring out whether or not it's my imagination.
And I remember seeing you with James Taylor I think when he was daybuing {sp} his In The Pocket Album. Looked to me like you had something carved out like a firebird on yer bass? That would have been in Buffalo, New York 1970's.Guess I trump the guy below me's post?
