I don´t like to wear dresses and I´m addicted as well. Dressmaking is an art form and it´s not strange to enjoy looking at art. Could do with a little less drama though.
Trust me, the brides nowadays could give a flip about the many hours it takes to make and remake a dress just for them. My Aunt was a professional tailor, seamstress and custom bridal dress maker who worked from home. I saw many, many bad instances of grown women throwing an absolute tantrum that would rival any 2-4 year old child! How she put up with it, I don't know.
Same thought I had! The brides don’t care about how long it takes, all they care about is how much they’ve paid. They don’t care if you need to hire every sewing granny in the tri-state area, get that dress done.
"I think what a bride really doesn't understand is how many hours go into rebuilding this dress." -Randy Fenoli Comments of similar nature have been said by all customer service workers at some point in their job.
Because it is true. I stopped designing wedding dresses because time for alterations not worth it. Brides select a dress and they change everything at every fitting. One day you want a sleeve next day you dont. One day back is too much low. Next day its too shallow. Unlike normal dresses wedding dresses sewn with layers and layers of fabrics and lot of hand work. In my opinion sewing a brand new gown is easier than altering
If they chose dresses with no embellishments, then fiddly work could be avoided, I suppose. Maybe brides should be taught to sew so they can add some crystals to the top layer or, here's a thought, make their own darn dress. I did.
@@shmwmlam3953 This is the same reason my mom stopped making wedding cakes. The brides would call the day before the wedding and want something completely different. There was no respect for the hours and hours of work that went into planning, baking, decorating, and constructing the cakes.
I sew and what he said is true, and let's not even talk about trying to keep it clean while working. It takes a long time to deconstruct and satin. tulle and lace do not like being ripped apart and put back together Bridal fabrics are delicate slippery and unforgiving
It makes me feel so bad like come in if you’re a bride I would want the dress to be the first thing done and out of the way that why I’m not stressing over it. People don’t understand how much work get out into a dress and they think they can just copy and paste a dress in an hour
Noooo, Vera is the sweetest from what I've seen of her on the show. That woman should have gotten charges pressed on her and apologize. I dont care how stressed or frustrated you are, you should at least have human social decency.
This is why most bridal stores recommend that that you have your dress finished at most 3 months or at least 1 month before the wedding, that way those last months you don’t have to worry about the dress and only have to worry about emergencies
As mother of the bride I had a breakdown at my fitting. I just sat down and cried my eyes out. My seamstress was so caring and so sweet. She took care of my gown and it was beautiful. Weddings are so stressful at times, but you don’t have to hit the employees! And, my daughters wedding was perfect.
4:12 Elise: "No, no she needs to go home." I hope that's what they did and kicked them out. No matter how stressed out you are you have no right to take it on someone else. Go home and get enough sleep.
It frustrates me how often people try and excuse their violence towards others based on "high emotions". My heart goes out to Vera, violence should never be tolerated - even though I feel it often is excused by the service industries. I also work in an environment where emotions run high and I've been hit as well, as have other folks I've worked with, but we're supposed to put others first, not ourselves
I bought a wedding dress a month before my wedding. I altered my own wedding dress the week before. I sewed a dart into the sides (it was a little too big) and we took scissors to the petticoat (too long) right before I walked down the aisle. These women need to get a grip, seriously.
Randy makes the show real. And to the mom who socked one of the staff, she should have been banned from the store, here daughter could come in to complete the fitting or not but the dress is theirs...with stern warning to the mom, do you want jail or not.
Sadly, there are people who believe it is completely acceptable and their right to treat people like this woman treated Vera. For Kleinfeld’s part, they should have had her removed by police. It is never acceptable to put your hands on someone. What a disgrace to her daughter and family.
I’m so glad I didn’t have to go through this. I went to a sample sale by myself, picked out four dresses myself, & bought the second one that I tried on. The in house seamstress did an excellent job of sizing the dress down.
if people put as much work into their marriages as they do their weddings the divorce rate would probably be lower. I don't get people who put so much stress on such a minuscule part of what being married really means. I bought my dress at a thrift store, my aunt made our cake, my sister and I made the bouquets and my husband and I were married in a family members back yard. we have now been married for over 20 years.

"I think a bride doesn't understand how many hours go into rebuilding this dress". So... why does a dress made to a bride's measurements, that takes 6-9 months to make even need 'rebuilding"!?! Why? Never understood that...
I don’t see any need for brides to turn into hateful people. U know what the dress looked like the first time & like it & than the next time u find something wrong. Ridiculous
Seeing this side of the process is a good thing, after all the stress and fuss for the best part of a year attached to fixing a dress to be just so, I probably wouldn't even enjoy the dress anymore.
Randy just seems like this fun dude who helps within his ability yet will stand his ground when something goes wrong about the clients. If possible depending on where his shop is, I might go to there and find my ideal wedding dress
What happened! Did the mother go and daughter stay or did they both get the boot? Did the daughter's wedding dress eventually get altered or did she have to go somewhere else for a dress?
God bless this team!❤️🙏❤️ My daughter is visually impaired and so I had to be her eyes. My daughter’s zipper kept popping open!!! We discussed and the seamstress added lace with a snap and walla!!! All was good! Lol
I've never understood why brides are so "freaked out" leading up to and on the day of their wedding. Yes sure it might be a bit nerve racking to see your plans put in motion maybe it's surreal but I feel like a true bride should be nothing but exited to spend the rest of their life with the person they love. I've worked in my family business of catering since I was twelve, catering to weddings and if anything it's the people that make the wedding happen that should be stressed and freaked out. It's our job to make sure everything is perfect for the bride so she doesn't have to worry.
Where's the mom who punched Vera? Didn't show that part at all. I hope mom got escorted out of Kleinfeld and charges were filed....totally unacceptable behavior!!
Getting a dress is like trying to buy a house. Repairs take time depending on what needs fixing, if its the foundation then rebuild from the ground up.
I understand that alterations and planning a wedding is very time consuming and very difficult and sometimes stressful but that does not give you the right in anyway shape or form to resort to violence whether that’s hitting an employee at a bridal salon Your fiancé a friend a guest I repeat it does not give you the right
Wow what an interesting look into the other side of a wedding! Thank you for all the hard work you do for the brides to be I'm sorry your seamstress was hit.
They should take a pic on the day the lady chooses her dress and has it on. Then when it comes in, she can't say " but I don't remember that being there!" Or "that's not what I choose!"
I am so glad I designed my own wedding dress. A dear friend of mine did the sewing. It was one of a kind. With beautiful lace, lvory satin, pearl beads
I don’t understand why they are so crazy . I am a very fussy person yet I was lucky the size dress fit and the problem was the day I had my photos done. They didn’t have the dress on time . My photographer saved the day I came back as he didn’t want me stressed.
My daughter went in for her first fitting and they didn’t need to do ANYTHING but add a built in bra. She ordered a size 4 and never needed any alterations. The store was shocked and quite frankly disappointed because they weren’t making any more money, LOL!
I have to say, I absolutely despised my dress during my 1st fitting. It took the 3rd time with alterations before I finally started to feel pretty in it again. Remember ladies, the sample dresses you try on have already been tugged, pushed and pulled and is held in perfect place with clips on pins. So, the experience of a brand new untouched dress can be drastically different.

I know I recently beginning stages of my baking/cake decorating business. @@november132 the bride should control her mother, you’re responsible for the people you bring with you. The store is allowed to refuse service, especially when abused.
What?! Poor Vera, that is totally unacceptable! I hope the mother was escorted out by police, it’s crazy to think she’s entitled enough to think that was okay.
When Vera got punched it really disappointed me how Kleinfeld didn't stand by their devoted employee. When they found out that Vera was physically assaulted, their plan was to give the bride her money back and keep the dress in Kleinfeld, essential leaving the bride without a wedding dress a short time before the wedding. HOWEVER, mother of the bride (the one who punched Vera), started fake crying, and Kleinfeld gave them everything they wanted, and she had another daughter upstairs who was buying a dress and she was served as well. Nobody cared Vera was punched. And if I remember correctly, that family was even given a discount. Not only did they humiliate Vera, but they rubbed it in her face that they were treating her badly and helping the person who assaulted her. They should have given the family their money back, kept the dress, cancelled the appointment of the sister and called the police on the mother. Seeing how Vera was treated really should force a lot of brides NOT to go to Kleinfeld's. Treating your employee being assaulted as 'part of the job' makes me sick. I stand with Vera. Shame on you Kleinfeld.

No, the family had purchased the dress. It was theirs. Plus it was costume, so K would have had to find someone with those exact measurements to resale the dress. Besides, it was the mother, not the bride, who punched Vera. So why punish the bride? What they should have done is address the assault with the one who did it. Call the police and file a charge against the mother for her actions. That would have been the legal and adult way to handle it.
Back when I had my antique shop...a lady hit one of my staff ...said her item was not wrapped enough. I told the girl to go to the break room. I looked and saw it had indeed been properly wrapped in bubblewrap, as well as newspaper, then taped securely. I opened the cash drawer, laid the woman's money on the counter and told her to leave. She began cursing me...so I just marched her outside...laid her money on her car and left her there. Didn't hurt my business one bit. The girl was shaken, so for lunch, I took her for pizza.
Shame on Kleinfield for NOT standing up for Vera. Shame.
They did. Did you not hear that the people had to leave immediately. They just didn't show it
I think one of the ladies said they need to leave now

The customer would also be completely banned. There is no excuse for that behavior.
Welcome to retail
Didn't they toss her out? The mom, that is.
After getting punched it should be, if the dress is paid for, “Here’s your dress; get out. Find someone else to alter it.”
If you alter the dress, you can't return it...
@@windsofmarchjourneyperrytr2823 not Vera's problem!
or they could just finish the job and cover the extra cost! why punish the bride for what the mother did???
@@windsofmarchjourneyperrytr2823 If you punch a staff member you can't return.
@@november132 the bride should control her mother, you’re responsible for the people you bring with you. The store is allowed to refuse service, especially when abused.
Kleinfeld should have pressed charges. There is no excuse for assault. Poor Vera! How could you hit someone's Grandma?
Why would you hit someone period because of something like that?
Thé dans way they hit anyone else
The almighty dollar trumps all.
To the mother that punched Vera... shame on you.
Bet her name was Karen
That mother was definitely a Karen
Oh I wouldn’t doubt it for a second.
Vera is such a sweetheart 😢
Vera is the sweetest I can’t believe she had that much patience for the woman who assaulted her. I would’ve pressed charges.
What?! Poor Vera, that is totally unacceptable! I hope the mother was escorted out by police, it’s crazy to think she’s entitled enough to think that was okay.
Ikr? Vera is the sweetest lady who tries her hardest to make the bride happy!
@@Jelena2022 That's so disappointing - how did you find this out? :(
@@charlieblackrose It was all shown on the full episode, it was incredibly disappointing.
@@LS-cq3qy thanks for letting me know - that's awful!
Please tell me that the woman who punched the alterations manager was kicked out. It's unacceptable
Agree. It is also a crime. Assault.
Sounded like the director of sales, Elise, said “no she has to go that is ridiculous!” I agree that she needed to be kicked out!
Agree gosh that's just rude for her to do that
I would have sued her till she had nothing for her wedding day

No, the family had purchased the dress. It was theirs. Plus it was costume, so K would have had to find someone with those exact measurements to resale the dress. Besides, it was the mother, not the bride, who punched Vera. So why punish the bride? What they should have done is address the assault with the one who did it. Call the police and file a charge against the mother for her actions. That would have been the legal and adult way to handle it.
@@cocokai9661 but it won't teach the mother lesson and won't do it to others. I feel sorry for Vera.
Did the daughters support their mother's action? If not then they shouldn't be punished
While it wasn't a dress shop I was working at a clothing store and they threw a hanger at me. the store didn't care

BRAVO! As someone who worked in retail from high school to college, thank you for taking care of your employee.
you should have called police and press charges
