This is the best kind of system. We should focus on being an all-rounder rather than a bookwork, just like Harvard. This should be a lesson to every Asian parent, and stop putting pressure on kids to score high marks.
WHICH UNI ARE YOU FROM
You still need the book smarts, you just need the other stuff too.
Harvard and other Ivies literally don't like when students are all rounded they want a clear "passion" meaning ur extracurriculars should all correlate with each other and connect with the major u apply for
@@midnightlilyyexactly, colleges stopped wanting “well-rounded” students years ago, now they want a student who’s excellent in two or three things rather than “ok” in 10 things
i wish i found this account before i got rejected 😔
Where are you going for college now?
@@Pentagonongo
i'm going to a business school in france!
@@alixlcd_ lol then why are you even sad? You got to study in other country, congrats!
@@Pentagonongo
thanks that's really nice! france is my home country tho, so i'm just staying in the same place 😭
@@alixlcd_ ohh 😭 I'm sorry but still it's very nice, you got to study what you wanted.
I'm from Asia and I wanted to study engineering but I couldn't clear the entrance exam (here in Asia we have to take entrance exams for college which are insanely tough, probably these exams are US 1st year of college level). I couldn't even get admission there, guess now I have to take a complete different route since no engineering college will accept me 🥲.
even though im applying to a college with a 70 percent acceptance rate, this could help me get the presidential sholarship so i am able to attend! thank you!
That’s such great advice. It’s important to know for any college application that grades aren’t the only things that matter. People have shown that by being successful with no college degree (not to say you shouldn’t go to college). This is why if you don’t have the best grades you shouldn’t count yourself out and not apply for certain colleges. College is really looking for well-rounded student’s. Maybe you may have gotten 80s or maybe even 70s in your classes but they can see, through your extracurriculars, that hey this person can really excel in this program. So it really depends on you as a person and colleges care about that because they wanna see if you’re just gonna be a straight A student in their grade book or someone who is going to impact the world which would look way better for them. GOD bless y’all ❤
That’s so progressive of the college. I didn’t expect that. I guess that’s one nice thing I learned.
My crucial exams, which will determine my major at the university, are only a week away. Can you give me a program or directions so that I can address the shortcomings and review the lessons for the entire year
Goodluck for your exams ❤
Good luck❤
@@hugowilkinson1618 thank u so much
All the best ❤ you'll nail it
I want to study. But i always procrastinate. I know the cure for that is to just start doing ur work but, when i did start doing my homework, i got stuck and i can't restart. Major problem is that idk what i should study. Should i study what I have learnt in class or what I'm gonna learn in class? Do i do some exercises for certain subjects like Maths cause I'm weak at Maths?
And when i do make exercises or revising my past questions that i got wrong, i can't find the right answer for it (yknow those question that ask for our opinion. The teacher mark it wrong yet just that. What's the right stuff?) and the answer sheets were not helping. Of course i can search on yt for tutos but many times it doesn't match the questions.
How do people study, seriously?
Here's a very simple yet underrated tip: study to learn, not just to pass. If you study to learn, setbacks wouldn't be too daunting.
@@xQz00 i think the tip is awesome. Thank youuu
When I hate hate hatee a subject, what I do is try to participate more in class so the teacher gets a good impression out of me, and pay attention (really underrated how much you learn just my listening to your teachers), then when it’s time to study I record myself and listen to class material while I do stuff, sometimes even in bed before falling asleep. You won’t get amazing grades (7-8,5/10) but it does help
Firstly you should understand the concept and then practice some examples for that topic and learn the formulas( for subjects like maths , chemistry and physics etc) instead of directly jumping into the questions or exercises
Most professors at these schools are doing research and are not there to teach....so the teaching is done by graduates....so why spent the money ....the people who hire out in the work plce can tell whether you're quality or a dud
Not necessarily true - Dartmouth, Brown, and Princeton all rank highly in undergraduate teaching (all top 5), showing a dedication to teaching undergraduate students at the highest level.
What is a "dud"? English is not my first language
@@pedrorodriguezramirez4534Someone or something who/that is useless.
Hi would you post some tips on application to Harvard Grad school as well

Bonus, doing these things in your life also makes you feel good. $0 tuition❤

the only thing i understand here is rejection XD

I am looking for advice. I just completed O levels and I wish to get into university like harvard, yale and etc. I know I am aiming for high but beside getting good grades are there any test which I can give and their score can help me get into the university
Would you send me the guide please, because I don't have social media
Hey Elise, I m in my first year of bachelors of physiotherapy in india. I want to go to Harvard medical school. What would med schools favor more-
1. Undergrad from a US state uni(after taking transfer from india)?
2. Undergrad from india, but a masters(MMSc immunology for eg) from an Ivy like Harvard( provided I get in).
If I choose transfer, I ll be limited to state unis cz of my course and fees. For masters, however, I can apply to ivies as well.
*(In either case, I ll supplement my education with a post-bacc pre-med program as well)
I feel like the majority of serious Harvard applicants is already like that. But they can not afford to admit every top-notch deticated student who aimed high since they have to allocate spots for (grand)children of alumni too 😌
No, its to get more money from rich people
The thing is majority of hs students don’t really have real life experience in anything. I think doing something after hs that’s not college to gain experience and when ready go to college.
Just go to a normal uni Nd focus on academics in high school only not to do redundant things u not passionate about anyway just to push urself to the limit to get into Ivy.
Hopefully they'll stop saying that it's because of black children
I got rejected from yale :(
Are your courses free and if we pay is it only by dollar?
And do you think i should start now im gonna be a junior (7th grade) amd do you think i should start?
I just tell recruiters I’m black. Works every time.
