The 5 String Bass is a big bigger in versatility and luckily they make them. One thing you can do to utilize that Low B String would be to transpose some notes down an Octave when playing Bass parts of Chiral arrangement choir instrumental paks that typically don't go lower than E below the Staff so you can add some extra low end. You can even use it for Church Gigs because alot if songs will be transposed to match the ranges of other instruments and singers
You forgot your B-roll edit, bro. It was fun to watch though LOL Nice presenting! I've never seen you on this channel, but you seem comfortable. You're a natural!
You're advocating a 5 string yet you are predominantly a 4 string player. Maybe it would be better to talk about what you actually play and love rather than what a friend says you should be playing. If I listened to friends I'd never have picked up the fretless bass.

My Bass is also a 5 String w/ a Low B but I tune mine down a half step so that it's easier for me to sing the high notes w/o straining my voice.
Sounds great to me 🎉

That's what Lee Sklar said. 😊
If you play with 7 string guitarists then probably yes
