Victor, We purchase stencil and paint supplies from our local traffic paint manufacturer here in Massachusetts, Franklin Paint Company. No reason you can't start with a roller and bucket of paint, just takes longer but it is possible. I recommend starting with a machine to paint lines. If you decide not to, you can start with small jobs and use a roller to spread the traffic paint but your customer can complain about quality issues, lines may not be sharp or very straight. You will need a high pressure paint sprayer to stencil.

How do you spray small letter stencils with the gun? Do you have to turn your pressure way down to avoid over spray ?

We spray Alkyd paints and roll Latex.
Do you have a paint machine for every color? Or do you clean the machine out and do each color separately
We use 2 dedicated machines, white and yellow.
