Putting strands of straw onto mild fire embers, not seeing much in return but we keep on feeding their fire, their passion until one day they suddenly do something like learn to ride a bike and give you that huge beaming smile of joy that they've done it! As you were talking about the dying flame ...I thought of this candle I recently bought (I love candles btw) and I was a little disappointed by the flame being so low (could barely see it). I tried to light it longer hoping that would help but it wouldn't. I decided to just let it be.... for the past few days I've been wondering what this delicious smell has been in my house, and I realize it was that candle. My past candles had very big flames but didn't fill my house with such pleasant aroma. There still must be something special about 'that' low or dying flame.

Brilliant Adam. I really enjoyed this one and so true regarding desire. That's one of the reasons I don't pay attention to other people very much. I've decided life is too short to deny myself pleasure. There is a food documentary series called Salt, Fat and Sugar. The hostess explained that those are the ingredients that give flavor to food. My husband is bent on cutting out all of those out of our diet...often creating cardboard food and thinking I should be delighted because it's "healthy." I realized I prefer to enjoy eating as opposed to trying to live forever via eating "healthy." He desires to be healthy, and I desire to have new exciting food experiences.

love this idea of our desires as our teachers. i woke up this morning thinking about how the two activities that make me feel most at peace are sex and driving. the transits of the last year have led to an obsession with tattoos, which i now have to reign in because they're expensive. however, this very venus/pluto obsession (i have both planets in my 1st house) has taught me a lot about myself. the tattoos have transformed my feelings about my body, helping with body dysmorphia, making me love parts of my body i used to hate, and making my reflection in the mirror feel more like myself. as a youth i survived a cult that brainwashed me and erased my personality. tattoos feel like a permanent commitment to being myself, to my own individuality that can never be taken away, even after i die. there are mummies from thousands of years ago whose tattoos are still intact. :) #grabbed

I use this fire metaphor so often for love. I had to make my own fire to keep warm in a cabin for 5 years and it taught me so much about love and metabolism too. These all relate, wow. #grabbed I have been working on more high end, upscale events as a florist lately and there are aspects of this work that are so beautiful and gratifying (more beautiful flowers, better products, grander events and overall aesthetics) but so much that is more repulsive to me. Digging thru comparisons of Venus "points" in relation to Venus things like a natal Venus enclosure, a business chart with Venus Mc, a friend entering a Venus year. Just feeling my way through the dark as a novice. And I feel something! Although, I have no words for it yet. And dang, I broke rules in a class format group- by mentioning material that isn't related to class material. Just this overwhelming compulsion... Now I'm reflecting on my inner code of values & ethics, for the second time in 24 hours.

As a woman and for other reasons possibly as well, I liked GoT but found it very difficult to watch because it felt like the show kind of glorified cruelty and I don’t recall the show showing as much depth with the characters. With HotD I really notice more depth to the characters, and find it easier to relate to them. I appreciate how much it highlights the roles women play in their own desire for autonomy and power. I haven’t watched GoT since the initial time, so it’s possible I didn’t notice these things as much then. In part I think I was too often repulsed and not able to notice more about the show. Also, I love the idea of tending regularly to our heart fire. I’ve noticed this is something I’ve naturally been doing more in recent months.

It’s all in the stars I guess - just one of my slumps. This one is just a really long one and is really getting me down.
