I just bought one of those exact radios from sonic electronix after my Soundstream amp took a shit and they quit carrying it and I asked for store credit and purchased that radio. works great !
Are you considering bulletproofing the radios from here on out? I mean they're in the cabin right where all the bases beating the dashboard and windshield and everything. It may be a little bit Moore insurance on the longevity of it so that way those internal parts are not being Jarred apart or a loose!
Seems like a no brainer to me… Also, the low power from that battery setup may have fried something or sent it into protect mode. Hell I had an Eclipse 5303R high end deck quit working on me before and need to get sent out. Radios fail and nothing can prevent that.

No I just get them warrantied. Keep a spare and your good to go.

Yeah , its common these days for a radio to glitch. The radio is not moving ..its very light. Im thinking it needs a hard reset. Not a factory reset
